Grundmanová, Lenka ; Obluk, Ondřej (advisor) ; Hejlová, Denisa (referee)
My work is dedicated to problematics of fashion marketing, specifically to marketing communication of Versace and Zara brands in years 2009-2010. Versace and Zara represent companies from two dramatically different areas of garment industry - the first is a brand selling luxurious goods, clothes and accessories of a highest quality and price range, the second is a company typical for mass production and sale and prices which are rather low range. In the first part of work I focus on the brands themselves - their history, development and especially current position on the world and Czech market. Furthermore I describe thoroughly their target groups. The aim of the work was to find out whether different characters of the companies, their economic situation and target groups might have effect on their marketing communication and if so, of what kind. I compared all the communication channels, from classic advertising to corporate culture, always in terms of given area of the industry and also regarding the specifications of each studied brand. The study covers global communication of the brands and monitors the amount of differentiation and possible specifics in communication on the Czech market. Apart from final comparison of communication of brands Versace and Zara I attempted to conclude general...
The Uniform of the Red Army: Military Attire of the Ranks and the NCOs 1936 - 1946
Prior, Tomáš ; Tumis, Stanislav (advisor) ; Ulvr, Michal (referee)
(in English): Second World War is a very well researched conflict favoured by historians and non-professional enthusiasts alike. Despite its popularity even this subject leaves many areas blank. Areas which were either completely omitted by researches or not studied thoroughly enough. One of these areas is a production technology of Red Army military uniforms. The aim of the thesis is not to merely describe the patterns of military uniforms but to outline the subject with regard to textile industry and chemistry (dyeing). After the critical evaluation of accessible information thesis was based exclusively upon primary sources - manufacturing instructions of the period and specialized literature. All secondary sources were deliberately excluded. The findings proved that specific manufacturing instruction of the period enables the researcher to produce virtually any garment. At the same time established deficiencies are not insolvable. The question which shade of khaki was used in dyeing fabric for uniforms still remains unanswered. A lot of facts established in discipline of textile materials and textile colours are contradictory to generally accepted image of the Read Army soldier which has been formed by cinematography and secondary literature for decades.

Pařízek, Aleš ; PROVAZNÍK, Jaroslav (advisor) ; VOSTÁREK, Karel (referee)
The thesis called The Costume in the Theatre Played by Adolescents attempts to get a look in a specific area which is part of any theatre production. In the theoretical sphere it looks at the concept of the costume from the point of view of the current theatrology, defines its function as one of the important signs of the theatre communication and perceives it as a significant style-forming element of any theatre production. It summarizes the development of the costume in different periods of the history of the European theatre and deals with its use in the context of the school theatre of religious orders. In the narrower point of view it opens up a question of the function of clothing as a costume in civilian life. It specifies it as an important manifestation of identification with the belonging to certain groups - subcultures and looks also at the issue of the use of costumes during experiential events such as LARP and Cosplay. The thesis demonstrates on specific examples of several theatrical productions different variants of the work with a costume in the theatre played by adolescents nowadays. The research section of the thesis offers a framework view on the issue of the use of a costume in theatre groups in elementary schools of arts and their public presentations.

Tejnická, Jana ; Zadražilová, Dana (advisor) ; Motlíková, Anna (referee)
Zara is one of the most successful and fastest growing retail apparel company in the world. This retail chain is regarded as a pioneer of fast fashion companies whose main feature is quick response to new fashion trends, launching several collections a year and continuous assortment refreshing. Zara has entered the Czech Republic in 2001. On the local market the company presents itself as a premium brand whereas in Western Europe Zara is seen as a middle class brand. The company Zara Česká republika operates only six stores and its sales, compared with the largest clothing chains operating on the Czech market, are rather low. The diploma thesis has two main objectives. One goal is to describe and analyse the business model of the retail chain Zara as many experts believe that the company's business model is the reason of its tremendous success. The second major goal of this thesis is to determine how Czech women perceive the retail chain Zara in comparison with other apparel chains operating on the Czech market and to verify the hypothesis that the Czech female consumers are not satisfied with quality-price ratio of goods offered by chain Zara. The secondary objective of the thesis is to characterize the apparel business and to explain the concept of fast fashion.
