The aim of the bachelor thesis "Influence of the National Minorities on the Party Systems of the Republic of Estonia and the Republic of Slovenia" is to compare the influence of national minorities on the party systems of Estonia and Slovenia. Numerous Russian minority and other minorities from former Soviet Union live in Estonia, where they form large part of population. Like other citizens they have civil rights, through which they shape the party system, political system respectively. In Slovenia live many citizens from former Yugoslavia and other surrounding countries. Thesis includes personal analysis of parliaments of both countries aimed at minority participation. The representation of the national minorities of Hungary in the historiography of the dualistic era (1867-1918) Imre Tarafás Abstract One of the most problematic questions of Hungarian politics during the dualistic era (1867-1918) was the policy towards national minorities. The population of five nationalities reached or even exceeded one million each. These minorities were not only large in population, but they were also touched by nationalist ideologies, as a result, they declared themselves nations which the Hungarian legislation was not willing to accept. In addition, most of these minorities had federative, or even separatist aims. The 19th century also saw the birth of history as a scientific discipline. Professional historians all over Europe had a crucial task: by construction a national history narrative, they had to legitimize the existence of their nation. This meant that the pas had to be presented as a process which inevitably led to the formation of the 19th century's nation sate. Additionally, history served as a basis for both the Magyars and the nationalities in their argumentation. The issue of coexistence of the Czech population with traditional national minorities and newcomers from the First World War to the present

This bachelor thesis deals with the coexistence of traditional national minorities with the Czech population from First World War to the present. The first part defines the basic concepts and theories relevant for the understanding of interethnic coexistence. The second part describes the history of Jews, Romanies and Germans on the Czech territory. The last chapter contains links of individual minorities' problematics in the context of the migration crisis and the escalation of inter-ethnic conflict in general.

Kazakhstan: Mortality in European context (comparison with selected European countries and nationalities) Abstract The aim of this diploma thesis is to anylized mortality rates in Kazakhstan and compared it with selected European countries. In the begining of the thesis is brief outline of history and development of ethnic composition in this Central Asian Republic. Another section contains a comparison of the economic and social conditions in Kazakhstan with two selected European countries - the Czech Republic and Sweden. The thesis continues with comparison and development of the most important mortality indicators in the three above mentioned countries. One of the used criteria summarizes findings from the comparison of mortality backgrounds of three selected European minorities living in Kazakhstan (Germans, Russians and Ukrainians) with their country of origin. This comparison shows a big difference for German nationality, for Russians and Ukrainians the differences are minimal. The concept of avoidable mortality was also used for comparison mortality conditions in selected countries. The results show a low level of health care system in Kazakhstan. Services and programs of public libraries in the Czech Republic aimed at immigrants and national minorities

The objective of the thesis is to describe and evaluate services of public libraries aimed at immigrants and national minorities in the Czech Republic and programs to support them. The first part defines the principal terms related to libraries and minorities. An overview of legislation follows, focused on the same topic. The third part introduces five most common national minorities and immigrant groups living in the Czech Republic. The fourth chapter describes all regional libraries in the Czech Republic, two of municipal libraries near the national border where the percentage of minorities is higher and one specialized library with a focus on their foreign- language equipment, events, meetings or exhibitions about or for national minorities or immigrants, their cooperation with various organizations, employees' interest in minorities and a possibility of registration of foreigners at libraries. Following part is about programs and projects supporting foreigners in Czech libraries. The sixth chapter describes selected organizations working in the migration field. Cultural life of national minorities in the Czech Republic with focus on the Greek minority

The aim of the thesis is a complex mapping of the cultural life of national minorities living in the Czech Republic. It focuses on the possible ways of their support by the state as well as local governments and on introduction of these national minorities and presentation of their specific culture. The first part defines the relevant terms and legal framework. Further it describes the possibilities of financial and other support of their cultural activities. Integral part is formed by the characteristics of individual national minorities and description of their cultural activities. The second part shows the analysed possibilities on the example of the Greek minority and existing Greek cultural organizations in the Czech Republic, particularly it analyses activities of the organization Lyceum Řekyň v České republice (Lyceum Club of Greek Women in the Czech Republic). This part of the thesis results above all in the assessment of functioning of the organisation as well as in recommendations for its further development.
