The stratiec approach of luxury fashion brands to counterfeit goods

This thesis examines the strategic approach of luxury fashion brands to counterfeits. The democratization of luxury fashion, the acceleration of the fashion calendar, the boom in online shopping, and last but not least the coronavirus pandemic have led to the normalization of the ownership and promotion of counterfeits. The trade in counterfeits poses a long-term risk to the economy and society. The counterfeit business can finance organised crime and its production is harmful to the planet and to workers in the supply chain. The aim of this paper is to find out how brands are dealing with this situation - what tools and strategies they are using to combat counterfeits. The theoretical introduction of the thesis explains the concept of luxury, describes the different forms of counterfeiting from a legal point of view, presents the negative and positive effects of counterfeiting, as well as recommendations on how to combat it. A qualitative method was chosen for the research, which allows to look at the topics in depth and also to explore how the topics are approached. Comparison of event marketing strategies of luxury fashion brands in the years 2010-2012

Bachelor thesis "Comparison of event marketing strategies of luxury fashion brands in the years 2010-2012" deals with the event marketing as a tool through which selected luxury fashion brands (Dolce & Gabbana, Hermès, Louis Vuitton) on the Czech market communicate with their customers. First, the thesis defines the essence of event marketing and its position in the marketing communications mix. Subsequently, it indicates the main aspects of the luxury sector and characterizes the basic principles of the event marketing activities that are carried out in this area. The thesis describes selected events and than using comparative analysis reveals their obvious and latent intentions, on the basis of which each brand seeks to attract the target audience and convey unique and emotive experiences. The whole thesis points to the fact that the luxury fashion brands, which are mainly based on traditional and historical value, are able to effectively communicate with their customers through the communication tool that is considered as a modern, innovative and progressively growing part of marketing communications.
Comparative study of marketing communication and brands Versace and Zara in 2009-2010

My work is dedicated to problematics of fashion marketing, specifically to marketing communication of Versace and Zara brands in years 2009-2010. Versace and Zara represent companies from two dramatically different areas of garment industry - the first is a brand selling luxurious goods, clothes and accessories of a highest quality and price range, the second is a company typical for mass production and sale and prices which are rather low range. In the first part of work I focus on the brands themselves - their history, development and especially current position on the world and Czech market. Furthermore I describe thoroughly their target groups. The aim of the work was to find out whether different characters of the companies, their economic situation and target groups might have effect on their marketing communication and if so, of what kind. I compared all the communication channels, from classic advertising to corporate culture, always in terms of given area of the industry and also regarding the specifications of each studied brand. Strategies of the brands Louis Vuitton and Alfred Dunhill in 2009: A Comparative Study

The goal of this diploma thesis is to penetrate the surface of the haute couture fashion houses marketing communication and to describe the communicated content. In this publication the author wants to reach the symbols and myths which stand behind the luxury marketing. The exemplar for the attempt mentioned will be the advertising campaigns of the two world well-known fashion houses - Louis Vuitton and Alfred Dunhill. The first part establishes the theoretical fond for the analyses of luxury marketing. For that reason the Czech and the international general publications are being used. A necessary part of the opening is the presentation of the both fashion houses for a better grasp of the historical connotations and of the complex consciousness of their professional background and their promotional motivation. The second part analyses the images chosen with an application of the comparison and the description. The important component of this part is the confrontation of the analyzed images with the historical facts and the cultural realia which allow us to overreach to the analyses of the narration and to the disclosure of the metatextual structures.
Lifestyle and Consumption of Luxury Goods of the Upper-class Population in the Czech Republic from a marketing Point of View

This thesis seeks to map out the lifestyle and consumption of luxury goods of the high-income segment of population of the Czech Republic, it also examines to what extent the high-income section of population lets advertisement media and the products them selves to seduce them. The sample used for carrying out the analysis is composed of ten respondents, which will be subject to an in-depth interview and subsequent analysis. The first part of the thesis will establish a theoretical basis and the definition of basic concepts. Existing czech and available foreign publications generally dealing with this issue are utilized for this objective. An essential chapter of the theoretical section is also the description of the methodics. The second part focuses on practical research and the analysis of results. An important component of the passage is the incorporation of mental maps showing the consumption and lifestyle of the high-income population segment of the Czech Republic.
Analysis of Gucci's Luxury Marketing

The theoretical part of this bachelor's thesis deals with the ambiguity surrounding the definition of luxury and then systematically outlines its historical development against the backdrop of broader societal changes as well as the philosophical thought and related literary works of the time, from antiquity to modern times. Furthermore, it acquaints the reader with the concept of luxury brands, summarizes their distinctive qualities with the objective of creating a comprehensive overview of the characteristics that make up their essence or sheds light on their operating principle in the context of marketing. Moreover, it explores luxuriousness as their more qualitative and subjective facet through the use of models describing its perception by consumers in order to differentiate between luxury and non-luxury brands. Last but not least, it demarcates the luxury sector and examines the trends shaping the personal luxury goods industry. The attitudes of generation Z towards fashion brands

This bachelor thesis involves around generation Z and its attitudes towards luxury fashion brands. The first part focuses on the theoretical background. First it defines the key concepts of fashion, luxury and its position in modern world, then it is put into context with the fashion brands and their marketing strategy. It continues with the description of the key influences and attitudes of generation Z, based on the previous research conducted on this topic. Second part consists of the research itself, describing the chosen method of in depth interviewing and open code analysis. The conclusion contains the outcomes of the research, describing the six main factors generation Z considers when it comes to luxury fashion purchases.
