Parish Revitalisation

1 Abstract A renewal of the fundamental functions of parish in the contemporary society is one of the most discussed issues in the Czechoslovak Hussite Church. This thesis deals with a revitalization of parish. Analysing a process of renewal of three different parishes, it draws general rules for revitalization and proposes steps for its implementation. A particular attention is paid to institutional, economic and pastoral aspects of this process.
Outline of the history of pietism and its reflection in spirituality of Czechoslovak Hussite Church

It descripes contemporary background of pietism, the sources from which he drew and its various forms. Observes how pietism resolved the crisis of the Church and society. It describes the basic emphases of pietism, supporting notes and warning elements. The second part deals with the time and cause of constitution of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church, practical expressions of piety of its members and its inclination to the biblical theology of personalism. The emphasis on a personal relationship with God and to another human being nurtured by studying the Scriptures in the community and a new emphasis on active and responsible reborn man who is active in the world, is the central theme of pietism and the new generation of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church.
History of the Monastery Kladruby

The significant, cultural heritage, Kladruby's monastery lies n Tachovon in the Western part of the Czech republic. It lies between Pilsen and Tachov, specifically, Thirty kilometres west from Pilsen and five kilometres south from Stříbro. The history of the township and monastery is closely bound. The middle ages brought prosperity and rise to both of them.To this rise of Kladruby contributed it's great place by the Norimberská stezka and the discovery of silver ore nearby. Thanks to this, in 1230, it was raised by Václav I. to township. With this Kladruby gained the rights of a town ( e.g. The right to organize markets,the right to perform Criminal Law and the right to brew) as one of the first seven town in the Czech republic. Because of the wealth from silver mining, a mining settlement Stříbro was establishes, in the late twelfth century. The Benedictine monastery was established, by Vladislav I. of Přemyslid dynasty, in 1115. He himself is buried there as one of few Czech princes, who are not buried in Prague. Between the 12. And 13. Century, the monastery became one of the most important church centres of the whole kingdom. During the tragedy of Jan Nepomucký, the monastery has a major role. The History of the Church and Parish in Želina until 1784

This bachelor thesis focuses on the history of the church of Saint Lawrence in Želina. The aim of the whole thesis is to find out a line of names of parsons or local chaplains. The medieval period is depicted mostly on the basis of edited sources and literature. The main focus of this thesis is concentrated on the early modern era of the church, which is based on the study of archive records of religious and secular origin. For this period the attendance is also devoted to construction activities, changes of equipment of the church and to the religious life of the parish. The conclusion concentrates on other religious monuments of the parish.
Rerum Novarum: Main ideas in today's context

The aim of this bachelor thesis "Rerum Novarum: Main ideas in today's context" is a reflection of main ideas of Leo XIII.'s encyclical Rerum Novarum, covering its biblical and patristic sources - especially in area of labour, ownership and money, their actualization in selected Magisterial texts during next decades - encyclicals of Popes Pius XI., John Paul II., Benedict XVI. and Francis, and their analysis within today's context. There are fundamental topics like relation between the private ownership and freedom and responsibility of a man, labour and capital separation with its results, labour capitalization within the family and roles of family, the Church and a state in social issues. Furthermore, the work deals with some other following ecclesiological and pastoral aspects - the impact of solving social issues on evangelization and the impact of the inability of the state to solve the social issues on the actions of the Church. Encyclical Rerum Novarum is the basis for the social doctrine of the Church, this work tries to show why this is so. Kingdom of Jerusalem (1099-1187)

The main topic of the thesis is to capture the fundamental problems of Kingdom of Jerusalem from 1099 - 1187. The first part briefly outlines the political, religious and social situation in the period preceding the establishment of the Latin states in Palestine. It is also concerned about First crusade and the conquest of Jerusalem, by which is finished. The second chapter deals with realities of the Kingdom, its extent, society, trade and with life of the people from Holy Land. The third chapter, which is the main part of the thesis, is focused on the origin of the Kingdom, on its growth, on internal and external problems, on the relationship with Muslim neighbors, with European Crusaders and with the Byzantine empire. It also deals with relationship between the king and the nobility, and its presenting the image of the people which formed this period. The thesis ends with the fatal battle of Hattin, which finished the first phase of the existence of Christian states in Palestine. Preevangelizational and evangelizational aspect of the project Night of Churches

The thesis investigates the Night of Churches schedules in selected parishes of the Prague Archdiocese in years 2011-2013. It also deals with the principles, procedures and methods of evangelization. The terms related to the above mentioned are defined. Additionally, part of the thesis aims to introduce the objectives and developments of the Night of Churches project not only in the Czech Republic but also abroad. The practical part of the work classifies three consecutive years of the event according to their characteristics and the outcome is subsequently compared and analysed with regard to the challenges that arise in front of the Church during pre-evangelization and evangelization. The Syllabus Errorum and Selected Documents of the Second Vatican Council The central part of the thesis is a comparison of the document Syllabus Errorum and the documents of the Second Vatican Council. This is preceded by a first section with a comparison of the periods and circumstances in which the two documents came into being. In the following section I provide a summary of the selected literature on this theme. The comparison of the two documents proper, divided up according to logical connections, forms the main section. In the final section I reflect on the general principles and consequences arising out of the preceding comparison and I summarise the conclusions I have come to and look to see how they are reflected in current developments.

CONGREGATION OF SCHOLASTIC SISTERS OF III. REGULATED MONASTIC ORDER OF ST. FRANCIS This diploma thesis is focused on the development of the Congregation from its establishment to the present. I deal with the phenomenon of devoted life, spiritual motives and social cause through the history. I also give an attention to the nineteenth century, which was a great period of social changes and to the origin of woman's monastic orders and congregations as an answer to the actual requirements. The aim of the core section of the thesis is to describe the history of Congregation of St. Francis's school sisters from its beginnings in Graz to the separate branch in Bohemia. I primarily focus on the life of Czech province and its significant personalities, especially sister Eliska Pretschnerová and her beatification process. The final part of the work deals with sister's activities in the present time. I reflect the causes of the declining number of members as well as other options of existence of the Congregation.
