Formation of the authority of a teacher at the first stage of primary school

The diploma thesis deals with the problematics of creating the teachers authority. Its goal is to more deeply examine given problematics, reveal causes of authority weakening and also focus on possible impacts of teachers authority loss towards the students. In theoretical part of this thesis are recorded the most important points concerning the term of authority of the teacher as well as problematics of discipline and environment in the classroom, which both have influence on the authority of a teacher. Further in this part is discussed term of the personality of a teacher, which is important for his authority and also the term of motivation. In the next part of the thesis is conducted evaluation of a mixed research. A survey was conducted as a quantitative part of the research and an interview as a qualitative part. Both methods were realized with teachers from primary stage of elementary school as responders. Informations acquired from the surveys are supplemented by the interviews. The results show how the authority and its creation is important for teachers, what experience with the discipline in the classroom teachers have and what is the environment the teachers have in classrooms.

Bachelor thesis ‘‘ A double view of the authority of a secondary vocational school teacher ‘‘ deals with the topic of teacher’s authority from the point of view of teachers and pupils. The aim of the work was to find out how the teacher who wants to be an authority should behave according to the pupils, and to outline in what ways teachers are currently making their authority. The practical part is focused on a general description of authority and concepts common to it. It conserns the relationship between teacher and student, the personality of the teacher and various conceptions of authority, not just the teacher himself. The practical part is focus on the view of students and teachers of secondary vocational schools on the authority of the teacher through a questionnaire survey. The respondents are pupils and teachers of the Secondary Horticultural School in Rajhrad and the Vocational School in Cvrčovice. Their answers serve as a basis for answering research questions.
Views of secondary school students on ideal teacher

The thesis entitled "The Ideal Teacher from the Perspective of Secondary School Students" is divided into two parts - a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part is divided into eight chapters. The first chapter focuses on the personality of the teacher. It describes some typologies of teacher's personality, different stages of the teaching profession, selected factors that influence teacher's personality. The second chapter focuses on interaction and communication in teaching. Within this chapter, the author also discusses teacher authority and classroom climate. The other chapters of the thesis focus on the role of the teacher, the workload associated with the profession, and the topic of professional competence and teacher professionalism. The last chapter of the theoretical part of the thesis departs from the teacher to the pupils. In the case of the surveyed respondents, these are pupils in the period of adolescence. In the second, empirical part, the thesis summarises the findings of qualitative research conducted among secondary school pupils in the form of semi-structured interviews. Bases of establishing and maintaing authority in education from the perspective of student teachers in the international context

The dissertation thesis deals with bases of establishing and maintaining authority in education from the perspective of student teachers in the international context. The thesis is divided into six chapters, the first three of which lay down its theoretical groundwork. In the first chapter the term authority is defined both generally and from the point of view of education, then it is classified and categorized, which is followed by an outline of possible dilemmas authority may cause in education. The second chapter charts both internal and external determinants of establishing and maintaining authority in education, i.e. it deals with the influence of teacher's personality and expertise, pupil, interaction of a teacher and a pupil, official pedagogical documents, as well as social and cultural factors. The theoretical part is concluded by the review of the contemporary research of authority in education. The fourth chapter presents the research question and characterizes bases of the selected research methodology - grounded theory. Also, it describes the research plan and utilized qualitative and quantitative research methods, which include free word associations, sentence completion, mind mapping, short written narratives, focus group, and adapted QTI. Teacher, collegiality and collaboration

The thesis is focused on collaboration, cooperativeness, and mutual communication of teachers that represents one of the key pillars of the successful process of education. The cooperation of teachers is very important in the new conception of the school education program as well as in fulfilling cross-sectional topics and interdisciplinary relationships. The theoretical part describes basic terms, teacher's personality, his (her) roles and profession competencies, authorities and reputation of the teacher. The theoretical part also features information regarding collaboration of teachers in general, typical forms of the collaboration, deals with the role of school in teachers' collaboration. The aim of the empirical part is to map a topic of collaboration and cooperativeness among high school teachers. An additional aim is to analyze whether the cooperativeness and collaboration represents a benefit for high school teachers, and, eventually what might hinder such collaboration. The perception of teacher's authority by 6th and 9th grade pupils

This diploma thesis is concerned with the perception of the teacher's authority by pupils of the 6th and 9th grades of a grammar school. The main aim of the thesis is to compare the perception of the teacher's authority by students of the above mentioned age groups from different perspectives. These aspects include ontogenetic stages of their development, the gender and the milieu. They are one of the topics that will be paid attention to in the theoretical part of the thesis. Another theme of the work includes the concept of authority and the authority of the teacher. The research is based od a quantitative survey, carried out through a questionnaire created for research purposes. The task of the questionnaire is to find out whether the perception of the teacher's authority changes depending on the age of the pupils, which means a specific stage of ontogenetic development, and how the above mentioned points affect the perception of teacher's authority by pupils of 6th and 9th grades. In order to confirm or specify the obtained questionnaire data or add information to them, a semi-structured interview was conducted with selected teachers. Interaction style of novice teachers in the process of establishing their authority

This diploma thesis is concerned with authority of a novice teacher based on their usage of his or her interaction style in a classroom. The aim of this thesis is to find out how teachers and their pupils perceive particular interaction styles of a teacher with regard to establishing and using their authority. The theoretical part of this thesis consists of three chapters. The first chapter deals with the terms authority and teacher's authority, emphasizing pupils' point of view and in connection with this introduces its classification of authority types. The next chapter inquires into interpersonal behaviour of a teacher, definition of their interaction style and ways of its detection in practise. The third chapter is concerned with the issues of novice teacher emphasizing their problems in interaction with their pupils which can appear at the beginning of their professional career. Practical part is primarily based on a quantitative inquiry implemented with the help of modified standardized questionnaires QTI investigating the interaction style of a teacher.
