The thesis is a radical reconstruction and completion of a unique brownfield for cultural purposes, incubator of creativity, business and housing. The building is a former penitentiary near the city center between streets Bratislavská, Soudní and Cejl. It is a historical building which is currently unused. The complex for starting young entrepreneurs in a field of culture is supposed to serve as a center for a general public of art, particularly for the areas of so called industry of creativity such as architects, designers, painters, sculptors and also musicians, designers and developers of computer games. The building is historically valuable, especially due to the original vaults in the old part of the building which remain preserverd as much as possible. Only a part of a west wing has been demolished in order to construct a new expressive form as a shape of crystal which attracts the public from the Cejl street as it could be easily overlooked otherwise. The crystal has become a dominant part of the building and servers as a main entrance. A newer, less valuable part of the complex from the Bratislavská street, has been razed so there could be an underground parking and new extensions built serving the commercial and administrative purposes. The extenstions are the two operationally and structurally separated buildings allowing opening the entire area. A coridor which these two extensions create in between expands in a direction towards the legacy parts of the complex, thus the passers-by from a general public are pulled into the creative center through an attractive front-place. The original layou of each wing is retained what influenced their functional use decently. There are studios and workshops for artists located in the existing two floors along with multi-purpose hall, design market and theater hall with a trial rooms. Jiří Hanuš ABSTRACT: The thesis is devoted to the development of architecture from its early beginnings until its importance of an artistic style and its interpretation in the work of ing.arch. Petr Fabián, one of the most significant architects dealing with revitalizations and reconstructions of historical buildings in the Czech Republic, mainly in the Olomouc region, notably in the towns of Olomouc, Šumperk and Zábřeh. Judgement of most of the population on the architecture of buildings is mostly based on the fact whether they like it or no. For those who understand this branch more, the works of Petr Fabián provide the unique example of high architectural quality. His works reflect his persistence, refined style and theoretical knowledge gained during his studies at the Faculty of Architecture of VUT in Brno, under the supervision of prof. Helena Zemánková. One of the aims of the thesis is to present the architecture as the artistic and philosophical phenomenon of the past, present and future. Parts of the thesis deal with transformations of some of the works Ing. arch. Petr Fabián was working on and his goals to follow the needs of...
Czech Architect during the Political Changes after 1989
Ševčíková, Lucie ; Lahoda, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Kratochvíl, Petr (referee)
In this thesis, the author wants to deal with the broad spectrum of the contemporary Czech architecture. However, the phrase "Czech architect" appears in the title to show that this thesis is not a critical analysis of the stylish development of Czech architecture, but rather a search for links and inspirations that define the modern architectural profession in Czech society. These links and connections are deeply rooted in architects' experiences before and after the political regime change. The author feels that the architects' understanding of today's society and political transformation will help clarify some uncertainties of their meaning and status. One can understand the modern architects and the course of the Czech chamber of architecture as well as the public sector with it's ever changing tendencies ever since 1989 if the broad spectrum of contemporary architecture is kept in perspective.

Comparison of surface ferritin with levels of CRP and erythrocyte sedimentation rate as markers of acute-phase inflammation.
STRUČKOVÁ, Daniela
The aim of the study is to compare the levels of ferritin, CRP and the rate of erythrocyte sedimentation. Ferritin and CRP belong to the acute phase proteins that are formed in increased levels in inflammatory conditions and certain diseases. CRP is one of the most important markers of acute phase inflammation for high sensitivity, it is increasing hours after the onset of the acute phase reaction and rises more than a hundred times during the first days. CRP was measured on a Beckman Coulter AU 680 analyzer using the reaction of antigen-antibody and photometric measurements. The ferritin measurement on the Architect analyzer is a two-stage immunoassay of the immunological chemiluminescent microparticle using. The resulting reaction is measured in the optical system. Examination of the rate of erythrocyte sedimentation is frequent, although not specific to a particular disease. However, it can be used in diagnosing or monitoring of the effect therapy efficiency. The principle of measuring on Alifax Test analyzer is monitoring the aggregate capacity of red cells through optical density. These three parameters were measured by 1000 patients, the ratios of all measured values were calculated and compared with each other by means of linear regression graphs and the calculated correlation coefficients. The correlation coefficients have shown a low degree of dependence between ferritin and CRP and between CRP and age. The medium degree of dependence was proofed between ferritin and ESR parameters, between CRP and ESR and between age and ferritin, and age and ESR. All samplies were performed lege artis according to the instructions of the standard operating procedure of the company synlab czech, s.r.o. After collecting, these samples were measured in the laboratory synlab czech, s.r.o., Vrbenská 197/23, České Budějovice.
