Market analysis of CPM aplications for SME

Business Intelligence is one of the fastest growing areas of computer science. Corporate Performance Management (CPM) is often referred as next-generation of Business Intelligence (BI). Recently leading vendors of BI and CPM software and applications were primarily engaged in creating products for large enterprises and corporations. However, now they have also started to aim at the segment of SMEs (small and medium enterprises). This thesis analyzes the CPM market in segment of small and medium enterprises. Introductory part deals with my own research. This research was conducted on a sample of firms from SME whose business activities are within the same industry. The research focuses on the expectations and demands from reporting tools and CPM applications. The second half of the chapter is evaluating the information obtained, which will serve in the next section. The second part introduces principles of corporate performance management (CPM), describing the basic functionality that CPM applications cover and showing which added value is offered to companies. Furthermore, this chapter focuses on market analysis and identification of the main vendors of CPM applications for small and medium-sized businesses. The final part of the chapter defines criteria for evaluating CPM tools for reporting. The final part of diploma thesis has a practical character. It describes installation and setting up BI/CPM suite of applications from two chosen vendors and shows possibilities in their tools for creating reports. Finally these reporting tools are compared by predefined criteria from the previous chapter.
Selection of open source DMS products for small and medium enterprises

My bachelor thesis is dedicated to the topic of selection process of document management products for small and medium businesses. Its goal is to describe particularities of document management selection process for small and medium enterprises. Introduction part deals with the explanation of basic terms, related to the topic of document management. Another part is dedicated to the description of document management systems and their functionality. It also discusses about assets of implementation of these systems, motivation of organizations for their deployment and at the same time about risks for enterprise when it decides not to deploy these systems. Consequently a definition of open source software is provided together with its advantages and disadvantages. In a separate chapter small and medium businesses are characterized along with their particularities when compared to big enterprises and their typical approach to handling documents. Based on this characterization arose requirements of these enterprises on document management system, they were supplemented with demands, which should enterprise request from an open source software and with specific requirements on functionality. These demands defined restrictions, on whose basis an overview of available open source document management systems was compiled. At the same time these requirements represented the base for defining measures for closer comparison of products from the overview. Particular measures were given emphasizes and to show how products fulfilled these measures points were used. Scores were put into well arranged tables and results were interpreted.
Key factors in prosperity of medium business

This thesis analyzes the situation of the Zahradní a parková spol. s r.o. and proposes measures to improve its prosperity. The theoretical section is devoted to specifics of SMEs and describes the aspects of marketing, personnel management, management and financial management. In the practical part, are then applied the theoretical findings to identify the factors of prosperity in selected firm in selected areas and performed a SWOT analysis. Measures to maintain and increase prosperity of company have been defined.
Prospects for financial support for small and medium enterprises in the Czech Republic

The Bachelor thesis describes chosen possibilities of available financial support for small and medium enterprises in the Czech Republic. It gives an overview of the importance of small and medium enterprises and analyses specific trends in different areas of its economic importance. The thesis explains the system of financial support in general as well as the specific cases of the European Union and the Czech Republic. It describes accessible support programmes for Czech small and medium enterprises. The thesis also evaluates the efficiency of financial support based on chosen data and identifies possible improvements for the next period.
True and fair view of accounting of SMEs

Optimalization of medium-sized enterprise‘s behavior and structure in conditions of financial and economic crisis

My diploma thesis deals with the problem of financial and economical crisis and its impact on economy of medium-sized enterprise (MSE). First part defines the crisis phenomena themselves and discusses their upraise in the USA following by their expansion into the rest of of the world. Major part of my work addresses the situation in the Czech Republic, primarily the analysis of impacts onto the MSE. Another part of my work is a questionnaire research within the company employees. Company's effectiveness and efficiency evaluation are based on the research results. Concluding part proposes particular solutions and procedures suitable for the economical situation improvement of this particular MSE.

Particular aspects of internationalization of SMEs

This thesis deals with some aspects of internationalization of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in present globalized world. The goal of this thesis is to analyze the causes, forms and entry barriers for SMEs from the Czech Republic expanding to international markets. This is facilitated by own survey. The survey with questionnaire covering 20 questions was conducted among almost a thousand SMEs. Basic characteristics of SMEs as well as internationalization and enterprise support is mentioned in the thesis. The part is also devoted to the impacts of current economic crisis on SMEs. Survey results are included in the final part of this thesis.
ritical success factors of Enterprise Resource Planning Systems in Small and Medium Sized Enterprises

The topic of this diploma thesis is "Critical success factors of Enterprise Resource Planning Systems in Small and Medium Sized Enterprises" Firstly, the terms enterprise resource planning system, small and medium sized enterprise and critical factor are defined. Part of this thesis is also dedicated to the importance of those systems in small and medium sized enterprises and the supply of products on the market is described as well. The importance of enterprise resource planning systems for this segment of customers is still growing and the number of products offered is quite wide. Customers have unambiguously preferred Czech solutions. Next part of the thesis contains critical factors literature search -- analysis of two studies. Conceptual model of critical factors is made on the basis of findings and comparison of those two studies. The relevance of this model is verified by the analysis of case studies of enterprise resource planning system implementations in small and medium sized enterprises. These case studies were downloaded from websites of system vendors. On the basis of new findings, new model was designed. Each critical factor is described in each part of the thesis to help understand under which circumstances it was used. Finally, the model is assessed.
Electronic invoicing and related processes in ERP information systems

Thesis readers familiar with the issue of electronic billing in small and medium-sized companies and provide an overview of the various formats and communication channels, which in the deployment of electronic invoicing can be used. In each chapter set out in detail the advantages and disadvantages of different formats and channels of communication. In the practical part of thesis describes a solution of electronic invoicing and the potential risks in the implementation and operation of electronic invoicing. The theoretical part of thesis draws primarily from articles and is accompanied by actual observations of Internet magazines. The theoretical part should provide the reader with a comprehensive picture of the Czech market with the information systems like ERP and should acquaint the reader briefly is the history of ERP systems. Practical thesis describes the solutions implemented in a real company, their advantages, disadvantages and pitfalls. These solutions should serve the reader in the formation of ideas about how to access these issues and to highlight the factors that the theoretical part may not be noticeable.
