Facebook Social Network Datamining and Reconstruction of Captured Communication

This thesis deals with social network Facebook from perspective of computer forensic science with focus on obtaining sensitive information about tracked users. Its main goal is implementation of the tools for reconstruction of captured communication and Facebook data mining. Core of this application has been implemented in framework for processing of captured communication Netfox.Framework, which is being developed by Faculty of Information Technology, Brno University of Technology. Man-in-the-Middle attack has been used for capturing of decipherable communication. Selenium WebDriver has been used as a tool for data mining. Developed solution is able to reconstruct Facebook conversations between users, addition of new statuses and comments, and interception of sent files. Data mining module is able to obtain public information about tracked users, especially places they recently visited, past and upcoming events, public user details, albums and photos, friendlists and mutual friends with other users. As part of the bachelor thesis, data analysis, implementation of the application, validity testing and benchmark analysis have been performed.

Theme of bachelor thesis is analysis of risk behaviour of Facebook users. Analysis is performed on the basis of self-created question-form. First part of thesis is dedicated to theoretical resources of statistics, social networks, sociological research and principles of safe use of Internet. Second part contains practical realization of sociological research and creating of question-form, processing of collected facts, interpretation of conclusions and recommendations for users of social network Facebook.

This bachelor’s thesis is about planning and making of system, which working with thirdparty data sources, mainly Facebook API, Twitter API and Expedia API. This system is monitoring profiles on social networks, their data and content. The system allows monitoring the success of individual profiles on social networks. The system consists of several modules and in the future the system could be extended to include other functionality.

Poté práce vysvětluje základní myšlenku vedoucí k vytvoření sociálních sítí i jejich charakteristické znaky. Dále nastiňuje problémy související se snadnou dostupností a nadměrným využíváním sociálních sítí, které následně ovlivňuje lidskou společnost. The main theme of this thesis is to familiarize with the basic methods of sentiment analysis on social networks. Thesis’s theme is aimed on the automotive industry, although this prinicipal can be used in any different examined branch. The basis of the practical part is to obtain data from the social networks, analyze them and then index them into ElasticSearch database. Another goal of the thesis is to visualize these data by means of a web portal. Created web portal provides various statistics of the leading automobile brands, an overview of new trends or the aspect visualization of the individual cars.
