Benešov and the changes of its society 1918-1921

The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to analyze if, respectively how much society in Benešov changed after first WWI. I was inspired by microhistory, comparison and probe method to map the period. I try to depict, how the society in Benešov developed. My main intention is to show, that development society in Benešov was after WWI mostly discontinuous, however we can find some examples of continuity. To be specific I research problems of municipal politics, education, Church, army, culture or associational life. They are questions that cannot by simply answered, for example one of them was Konopiště castle case. Described events are put in nationwide context. The main sources for my thesis were regional origin sources. Another information to my topic I got from contemporary press.
Village Pátek during 20th century

This bachelor thesis deals the village Pátek during the history. The main part of thesis is 19th and especially 20th century. Are important events that had a major impact on the lives of citizens. The beginning is describes several events from earlier period, which significantly changed the character of village. In the century are then collected separately and described some important points in the village, consisting primarily of buildings (mills, school) or economic sectors (fish farming), which at that time played an important role, whether cultural or business, the lives of the villagers. The focus works are the memorial books and chronicles, to a lesser extent, the recorders of the meeting of the National Committee. To complement and improve some information was also used in the memories of several witnesses.
The Czechoslovak Soldiers in the Red Army, 1917-1920

The author focuses on Czechs and Slovaks, who joined the ranks of the internationalist troops supporting Bolsheviks during the Russian Civil War. He concentrates on the Czechoslovak communist movement in Russia and its transformation during the Civil War, formation of combat troops of Czechoslovak Bolsheviks, their combat performance with particular reference to fights against the Czechoslovak legions. Part of this work examines propaganda of the Czechoslovak Communists. To process he uses archival materials of "Vojenský ústřední archiv v Praze", contemporary press, memories, anthologies and monographs published mostly before 1989. The Image of Eastern Jew in 20th Century Czech Jewish Journals (till 1938)

This thesis focuses on the image of an Eastern Jew in Czech-Jewish and Zionist journals from 1910 to 1925 and its position in the identity of these groups. The analysis is based on fictional texts (both translations and originally Czech ones) with Eastern Jewish characters, which (considering their placement in official journals of the Czech-Jewish and Zionist institutions) presented a fictional world acceptable for the movement's ideology and co-created the image of Eastern Jew in their followers' collective memory. A description of the most frequent features of Eastern Jewish characters is supplemented by historical context and the journals' non-literary articles. The Beatification Process of Empire Charles I.

The beatification process of Emperor Charles I. This bachelor theisis treats about the person of the Emperor Charler I. of Austria with focus on his beatification process and places associated with his reverence. The first part is focused on the emperor's biography. In brief is mentioned period Charles adolescence, studies and first experiences in the military. The largest space is devoted to period Charles' reign and the period after leave for exile. There are highlighted peace efforts during the first World War, social reforms in the monarchy and in the period of exile restaurant attempts in Hungary. Second part is focused on the beatification and the cult of the Emperor Charles. Further progress and aspect of beatification, which is the most significant progress of the process and the efforts of The Emperor Karl League of Prayers for Peace Among Nations. After shortly about the discussion that has arisen after the announcement of the beatification. the conclusion is devoted to the description of chapels and reliquaries dedicated to the Emperor Charles. Bachelor thesis focuses on the everyday life of one family from the early 19th century to the eighties of the 20th century. Its aim is to document and provide closer look at everyday life and family relationships in a peasant, artisan, clerical and merchant family in the region Kladno and assess what has been considered here typical or different. The thesis attempts to trace what has changed and what has persisted in the lives of the most families between the early 19th and mid-20th century. Bachelor thesis will focus on the effects of industrialization and urbanization, the First and the Second World War and the advent of the Communist regime. Population structures of Koloveč, 1910-1921.

Population structures of Koloveč, 1910-1921 Abstract This thesis deals with the Demographic development of the town Koloveč during World War I., which significantly affected the structure of the Population not only in the Czech lands, but also in Europe. The first part deals with the World War I., its origin and consequences that influenced the structure of the population even after the war. Another important event in 1918 was the Spanish flu, which caused the deaths of several tens of millions of people in Europe. The main part of the thesis is devoted to the number of births and deaths of the population and the number of marriages in Koloveč in 1910-1921 based on data from the Koloveč registry. It also includes a comparison between 1910 and 1921 when a census was carried out in the Czech lands. Data are analysed according to preselected criteria in Koloveč. These gauges are divided into four parts, namely Demographic features, ethnic and socio-cultural characteristic and socio-professional characteristics. Members of the Austro-Hungarian Air Force from the Czech Lands

The aim of this paper is to outline the share of airmen from the Czech lands in the formation, organizational and personnel construction, technical development and operational deployment of the Austro-Hungarian Air Force in the pre-war period and especially during World War 1. Simultaneously, this work will also try to determine their percentage share in the entire Austro-Hungarian Army and Naval Air Forces. The national (or provincial) origin of the personel of the Austro-Hungarian Air Force has not yet been the subject of historical research in any of the successor states. The reason was the fact that this young weapon was not statistically monitored - unlike other weapons. For Austrian historiography, the ethnic composition of the Austro-Hungarian aviation was not a subject of adequate attention. In Czech and Czechoslovakian historiography, for a long time, it was stated that number of the Czech airmen in the Austro-Hungarian Air Force was "insignificant". However, this age-old thesis, which has never been credibly proven, is subject to criticism in this work, leading to its re-evaluation. In particular, the reconstruction and analysis of statistically relevant samples of people revealed that in fact the representation of airmen from the Czech lands was above average and the Czechs had a solid...
The History of a Parish Stará Říše in the First Half of 20th Century

This thesis describes the transformation of a parish life in Stará Říše in the context of historical events of the first half of the 20th century. This historical period represents the parish at the beginning of the new millennium, in the reflection of the first world war, a more peaceful period of the First Republic, then the 2nd World War and finally shows the changes brought by the new politico-economic structure of society. This thesis also focuses on the development of the parish under the patronage of the nearby Premonstratensian monastery in Nová Říše, under whose administration the parish always historically belonged. Finally, the attention is paid to the personality of Josef Florian, who is widely known for his publishing activities. His Publisher attracted many artists and writers into Stará Říše, on the other hand, his point of views became a source of disagreement between him, local people and monastery.
The First world War and care of orphaus in Southern Bohemia region

The following Bachelor´s thesis deals with an orphan care in Southern Bohemia region from 1914 to 1918. In the very beginning there can be found a description of public care of orphans in the Kingdom of Bohemia based on imperial legislation. Charity care as an essential element of public care is defined as well. The most extensive part of the thesis is focused on charity care of Czech orphans in South Bohemia run by a charitable association which coordinated provisions of the entire charity child care in the Kingdom of Bohemia (Czech: Česká zemská komise pro ochranu dítek a péči o mládež). In addition, charity care of German orphans is briefly outlined. The main aim of the thesis is to introduce and characterize in detail what particular entities participate in orphan care in South Bohemia and in what way. The research was carried out with respect to data available.
