Vlček, Přemysl ; Petrlík, Jiří (referee) ; Korček, Pavol (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is to develop and test an acceleration of special case of celular automata called Nagel-Schreckenberg model of traffic microsimulation without a graphic output on different platforms and then compare the measured results.
Executive function in cerebral palsy and their implications for physiotherapy
Horníková, Dominika ; Javůrková, Alena (advisor) ; Vlček, Přemysl (referee)
Aim: The aim of this theoretical work is to gain an understanding of physiotherapy interventions that are effective on the executive function of children with cerebral palsy. Methodology: In a narrative review, we searched internet databases according to appropriate keywords to find studies dealing with our topic. Subsequently, the discovered studies had to meet our predefined inclusion criteria. We used MICROSOFT WORD and MICROSOFT EXCEL for this procedure. Results: Our findings are based on ten included studies consisting of three randomized controlled trials, three cross-sectional studies and four study protocols of randomized controlled trials. Some studies showed us a significant effect (p<0.05) of physiotherapy on executive function in children with cerebral palsy, where yoga, ballet modified for this diagnosis or intensive exercise were used in the intervention. In addition to their effectiveness on the executive functions we examined, these therapies also demonstrated an effect on improvement in reaching predetermined goals or walking. Conclusion: The effect of physiotherapy on executive function in children with cerebral palsy may seem like an undiscovered topic, but some of the studies we found used interventions that are effective on this investigated area. Keywords: children, cerebral...
Association between physical activity, quality of life, depression, anxiety, and cognitive state in patients with epilepsy
Žížalová, Johana ; Javůrková, Alena (advisor) ; Vlček, Přemysl (referee)
Introduction: The quality of life of patients with epilepsy (PWE) is affected not only by recurrent seizures and associated limitations, but also by frequent psychiatric comorbidities and cognitive problems. At the same time, these patients are more prone to a sedentary lifestyle compared to the general population, which can lead to further health disadvantages. Aim: The aim of this bachelor thesis was to investigate the relationship between physical activity and quality of life, depression, anxiety, and cognitive state in PWE. Methods: Data on physical activity (type of activity, number of hours per week, frequency per week), quality of life (Quality of Life in Epilepsy Inventory, QOLIE-89), depression (Beck Depression Inventory, BDI-II), anxiety (Beck Anxiety Inventory, BAI; Generalized Anxiety Disorder, GAD-7) premorbid intellect (Czech Reading Test, CRT), and executive functioning and attention (EpiTrack) were obtained from 134 PWE at the Centre for Epilepsy Motol of the Neurological Department of 2nd Faculty of Medicine of Charles University. Results: Of 134 PWE, only 33% met WHO recommendations for physical activity. Compared to inactive PWE, these patients had a higher quality of life (QOLIE-89), higher premorbid intellect (CRT), scored better on the executive function and attention test...
Selected QEEG variables in early prediction of response to antidepressant treatment
Vlček, Přemysl ; Brunovský, Martin (advisor) ; Kuba, Miroslav (referee) ; Praško Pavlov, Ján (referee)
Electroencephalography is a sensitive method that is able to register neurophysiological changes (operations) in the cerebral cortex, which can be interpreted on the basis of the outputs of various complex computational transformations and in accordance with current neuroscience knowledge. The dynamic course of electrocortical activity is conditioned by functional and structural processes, which can have their origin both in the cortex itself and in various subcortical areas that are associated with it. The development of mathematical methods for the analysis of biological signals (respectively the development of the theory and practice of signal processing in general) has enabled a significant increase in EEG information yield, which is now far from limited to visual inspection of EEG recordings (although it still remains very important for the clinic). Current computer-controlled analysis of EEG signals from individual electrodes allows to obtain a valid reflection of neuronal activity derived from the values of various variables of quantitative electroencephalography (QEEG; spectral power, asymmetry, cordance, frequency peak, current density distribution, etc.), which can specifically correlate with psychopathological processes. Important QEEG methods in electrophysiology include those that are...
Personality development through psychoterapy education
Vlček, Přemysl ; Tureckiová, Michaela (referee) ; Šnýdrová, Ivana (advisor)
This thesis analyses four components important for the organisation of an educational programme of personality development with the use of psychotherapeutic bases. lntroduced in this disseertation are, after the definition of the concept of personality, chosen typologies, which shoulds help with the search for potential development targets of the programme of development participants. The second part is dedicated to psychotherapeutic directions, these determine the content of development targets at which the development programme is aimed. The exception here is the cognitivelybehavioural therapy because it is, with regards to educational targets of personality development, largely universal. The last part is dedicated to andragogic and didactic framework, with the help of which the chosen psychotherapeutiv content should be passed on. Certain digression is the contemplation on personality dysfunction in the context of personality development programmes, together with the role of the andragogue who exercises educational advancements in the framework of complex therapeutic programmes of these dysfunction.
Education in distress situations
Zdravá otevřenost osobnosti nevylučuje dočasná reflektující uzavření, v nichž osobnost zpracovává a...
