Urbanová, Kateřina ; Šivicová, Gabriela (advisor) ; Rodriguez Manchola, Mabel Virginia (referee)
Bipolar affective disorder is a very dynamic disease, which is influenced by numerous factors. One of these factors is the age at onset. The age at onset of bipolar affective disorder may play a major role in its course, severity and number of relapses, number of hospitalizations or response to mood stabilizers. Other factors influenced by the age at onset are suicide thoughts or attempted suicide. The aim of this work is to investigate and demonstrate the effect of age of the first symptom on the course of bipolar disorder. In the framework of quantitative research, 116 respondents completed a questionnaire on the course of bipolar affective disorder. Early age at onset (≤ 19 years) correlated significantly with the longer interval between the first symptom and the visit to the doctor, the first symptom and the first diagnosis and the first symptom and the diagnosis of bipolar affective disorder. There were no statistically significant relationships between the age at onset and the number of hospitalizations or the severity of the disease. Although the effect of age at onset on the course and severity of the disease has not been proven, this area should be further explored as it may help to better management the treatment of the disorder.

Karel Cvejn, description and reception of his literary work and criticism
URBANOVÁ, Kateřina
The aim of the thesis is to describe and analyse the regional publishing activities and literary criticism of Karel Cvejn, who worked in South Bohemia at the end of the 1920s and mainly during the 1930s. As this period was notable for its wide variety of social, political, and artistic views and schools of thought, a chapter with a brief overview of a historical and literary background related to South Bohemia has also been included as to make Cvejn's work perceivable in a broader context. In the following chapters, two periodicals of which Cvejn was the main editor have been analysed: a student magazine Gymnasion and a cultural and political quarterly called Jih. Within the subchapters, the concepts of these periodicals have been described, and, subsequently, Cvejn´s contributions into these periodicals have been analysed. Cvejn was also connected with South Bohemia because of his two collections of poems which are called Odjezdy and Slepec a včela. For this reason, one of the chapters of the thesis has been devoted to describing these works. The chapters dealing with the quarterly Jih and with Cvejn's poetry have been accompanied by contemporary reactions or reviews. The thesis also features a short summary of Cvejn's life and his further scientific activities no longer connected with South Bohemia.

Urbanová, Kateřina ; Nespěšná Hamsíková, Magdaléna (advisor) ; Jarošová, Markéta (referee)
The subject of the bachelor thesis (The Kaceřov Castle and its Architectural Transformations) is the Renaissance Kaceřov Castle. The first part is dedicated to the art and historical development of Kaceřov manor and literature summary. I introduced Florian Griespek of Griesbach who acquired the manor in 1539 and rebuilt the Gothic fortress into a unique Castle. Florian contributed to the spread of humanist thought and the Renaissance style in Bohemia. Kaceřov became the political and cultural center thanks to him. I tried to summarize the existing knowledge and put the building into historical context. I tried to solve the question of Kaceřov Castle authorship and I focused on the source of inspiration and possible external analogies. The description of the Castle follows in the second part. Emphasis was particularly set to fireplaces and murals which are gradually uncovered. The Castle was protected by bastion fortifications and ditches. In Castle area was an armory from which Florian descendants lent two guns during the conquest of Pilsen in 1618. The Castle was reconstructed in the second half of the twentieth century. It was the most necessary interventions. I described the current state of the monument by using my own photos. The Castle is privately owned.
