The Role of Spinneret Glands and Specific Features of Silk Production in Tarantulas (Araneae: Mygalomorphae)
Sýkorová, Barbora ; Říhová, Dagmar (advisor) ; Dolejš, Petr (referee)
This bachelor thesis is a review of scientific papers, monographs and internet sources, which focus mainly on the spinning apparatus and silk production in Mygalomorphae. The thesis is enriched with pictures that could help the reader to better navigate the topic. Spiders belong to arthropods. They are divided into the infraorders Araneomorphae, Mesothelae and Mygalomorphae. Spiders have a body divided into a cephalothorax and an opisthosoma, connected by a pedicel. The digestive system of spiders is specific in that it only allows them to take in liquid food. Almost all spiders have developed venom glands. Spinning activity is a very important feature of spiders. An important part of the spinning apparatus in the spinning nipples varies from family to family, but usually there is a reduction in their number. The basic functional and structural units of the spinning apparatus are the spinning glands, which transform on the surface of the spinning nipples into spigots, through which the silk is expelled to the surface. The silk is used by spiders to form snare or to form protective egg cases- cocoons. In the Czech Republic we can see three species of the family Atypidae (genus Atypus): Atypus affinis, Atypus piceus and Atypus muralis. Sýkorová, Barbora ; Wünschová Pujmanová, Alexandra (advisor) ; Žikovská, Petra (referee)
Unlawful Use of Copyrighted Work (and the Author's Fee) This graduation thesis is devoted to the issue of unlawful use of copyrighted work and to the author's fee. Currently the issue of unlawful use of copyrighted work as well as legal protection of that work is becoming much more interesting than approximately twenty / thirty years ago. This situation is caused by three main circumstances - the growth of piracy (copyrighted works like books, films, sound recordings, computer programmes and so on are widely used now, and in some states it is even very important business), the advent of satellite communication (increasingly entertainment and information services are more available) and the advent of the Internet (because of the worldwide linking of the millions of computers it is very easy to access to, copy and distribute copyrighted works). Thanks to that development the current society is going to resolve the question whether it is possible to maintain the established protection and the sources of renumeration for rightowners, or whether copyright will be engulfed in the ever-increasing electronic use of protected material. Having in mind this question the goal of this thesis is to map the system of possible legal means of protection against the unlawful use of copyrighted works in the Czech...

Sýkorová, Barbora ; Válová, Karolina (advisor) ; Grauová, Šárka (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with the Amazon as an intersection in Milton Hatoum's books . The objective of the thesis is to find in his novel Two brothers and in the novella Orphans of Eldorado specific features of this region and name them as the signs of meeting, impacting and blending. The thesis is based on the history of the Amazon region, on geography and on the literature dealing with this topic. It focuses on the analysis of the novel and the novella. The common theme of both books is primarily the environment - the city of Manaus. The analysis finds in the novel the intersections in the field of ethnicities, cultures and regions. There are many motives in the novella in common with the novel, but the analysis finds other intersections in the economic and social field as well as in the presence of the reality and myths. Finding the intersections of the Amazon in the books of Milton Hatoum can help to understand the complexity of the Amazon. It can also contribute to the appreciation of the literary work of this contemporary Brazilian writer.
