Modern cooling lubricant for metal machining
Nováček, Pavel ; Sámelová, Vendula (referee) ; Zemčík, Oskar (advisor)
This work covers the characteristics of different types of processing fluids used in machining; their types, the possible ways to supply and certain operational activities associated with the use of these liquids. The following are some of the modern trends in machining including dry machining, comparing their abilities with the machining process with fluids.
Automated Detection of Relations in Data Structures
Nováček, Pavel ; Fiedor, Tomáš (referee) ; Smrčka, Aleš (advisor)
This thesis deals with automated knowledge acquisition from structured data, precisely it includes detections of relations of data types in tree-structured data. The thesis is a part of Testos platform, which aims at software testing automation. The goal was to design and implement a solution that would automatically plan and execute detections over samples of real data structures. Detections would be handled by external modules called detectors that would cooperate with the solution. The final tool is a service which implements a algorithm for communicating with detectors via well-defined protocol, sending them requests in parallel to perform detections and handling results of detections. The service can be managed and tasked via created HTTP API. The results of detections, i.e. meanings and relations of input data, are used by other tools of Testos platform for the purpose of generating new test data with structure corresponding to input samples of real data.
Development of Combine Tool
Nováček, Pavel ; Janoušek, Vladimír (referee) ; Smrčka, Aleš (advisor)
This thesis deals with the reimplementation of the web tool Combine, which generates combinatorial test sets satisfying user-specified parameters and constraints using the IPOG algorithm. The thesis is a part of Testos platform, which aims at software testing automation. The goal of this thesis is to analyze the current state of the tool, identify its errors and deficiencies, discuss suitable extensions to its functionality, and based on these findings, create a new design and implementation of the Combine tool. The new solution preserves all the functionality of the previous tool and at the same time expands it on all levels of the architecture. The tool is not only more manageable thanks to a more user-friendly web interface but also offers new possibilities for test set generation. More suitable technologies have been chosen for its implementation, making the tool portable and significantly faster in generating test sets compared to the previous implementation, capable of competing with existing solutions for combinatorial test set generation.
Czech humanitarian aid following tsunami in South-East Asia
Adamusová, Karolína ; Nováček, Pavel (advisor) ; Knobloch, František (referee)
The subject of this thesis is Czech humanitarian assistance provided to the regions of South-East Asia hit by the tsunami on December 26th,2004. The thesis is aimed at the humanitarian aid provided to Sri Lanka The thesis is composed as a case study using the methods of expert investigation, semi- standardised interviews with participants and document analysis. The introduction contains the theoretical grasp of humanitarian assistance, its definition, classification, theories and legislative framework. One of the introductory subchapters deals with the topic of humanitarian assistance as a part of the public policy, definition of key participants, interests and sectors in which the participants play their roles is provided. The main part of the thesis - the particular analysis of tsunami humanitarian assistance - is oriented at three spheres. The first one is the official assistance provided by the Czech Republic from the state budget. The second sphere is formed by the activities of NGOs financed mainly from the public collections. Activities of individuals who provided assistance in the form of their own projects were also included. The third part concentrates on these activities. This segmentation takes into consideration the differences between the public, private and civil sectors which are markedly...
Transformation of the Czech foreign development cooperation
Fidlerová, Tereza ; Nováček, Pavel (advisor) ; Kalous, Jaroslav (referee)
Diploma thesis "Transformation of the Czech foreign development cooperation" deals with current change of the system of Czech development cooperation. The original system was too fragmented and ineffective. Responsibility for development projects was divided amongst departmental ministries as well as the budget for development cooperation. The system was complicated and needed to be improved. This thesis notes what made the system ineffective and how and by whom the process of transformation was started. That means it maps what has already been changed and what still has to be changed. In the process of transformation the neglected suggestions given by Development Assistance Committee DAC/OECD, evaluating the Czech development cooperation in 2006 - 2007, are uncovered. Consequently, remarks of Czech experts on development cooperation on what else needs to be paid more attention to are included. In conclusion, all observations and suggestions are summarized and scenarios of the Czech development cooperation are created.
Analysis of the Czech System of Development Cooperation from its Stakeholders Point of View
Urbanová, Hana ; Nováček, Pavel (advisor) ; Kokavec, Peter (referee)
The aim of this paper is to provide information on current Czech system of development cooperation and to discover the attitudes of its stakeholders towards the system and its problems. The theoretical part describes the system from various points of view, firstly speaking of its legislative and institutional background and its stakeholders, then coming to the practical questions of territorial and sector finance allocation and project cycle management. In short the findings of this part are that there are many policy documents concerning development cooperation, however the central law has still not been prepared. Regarding the institutional structure, it is quite fragmented - MFA plays the role of the main coordinator, while nine sector ministries have control over management of the projects connected with their sphere of competence. Even though the progress concerning the standardization of procedures among the ministries has been made, still the system as it is causes problems to the implementors of the development cooperation projects. Concerning the financial aspect - the Czech Republic gives to ODA approximately 0,11 % of GNI, which is far to reach the target set either by EU (0,33 % GNI) or UN (0,7 % GNI). Still the Czech Republic plays the leading role among the countries which accessed EU...
Environmental sustainability of Africa in the context of global efforts for sustainable development (with emphasis on good governance)
Hlaváček, Jiří ; Šauer, Petr (advisor) ; Nováček, Pavel (referee) ; Verner, Petr H. (referee)
1 Title: Environmental Sustainability of Africa in the Context of Global Sustainable Development Efforts with a Focus on Good Governance Abstract This research has been conducted with the aim of analyzing African countries sustainable developmental problems at the beginning of the 21st century and contributing to a better understanding of the sustainable development concept and its related politics application, especially environmental ones, as well as of contradictory factors of African continent realities. Due to the scope of this topic and to currently increasing interest of the international community, theorists and practitioners working in the field of sustainable development the research concentrates on governance issues in general and in the field of environmental protection in particular. The governance can be understood as a new cross-cutting issue in sustainable development theory and practice. Based on meta-analysis of a substantial number of relevant sources and literature, African academia studies and scholarly publications in the field of developmental and sustainable developmental theory have been classified into three categories: 1) "global" research performed in the framework of political philosophy of neo-liberalism and institutionalism; 2) "continental" research traditionally affirmative...
Analysis of the Commitment to Development Index
Syrovátka, Miroslav ; Hák, Tomáš (advisor) ; Nováček, Pavel (referee) ; Šauer, Petr (referee)
Analysis of the Commitment to Development Index Miroslav Syrovátka ABSTRACT The Commitment to Development Index aims to measure the effects of wide range of rich countries' policies that support or limit development prospects of poor countries. These policies are grouped into seven components of the index. The thesis analyzes and assesses the methodology of the index construction with the main focus on its environmental component. It is argued that although the environmental component is a legitimate part of the concept behind the index, the difficulties of its implementation limit its information value. This is due to the specific shortcomings of component indicators and the necessity to combine environmental policy indicators with indicators of exploitation of global environmental resources. The scores of Visegrad countries and correlation analysis show the specificity of the environmental component within the whole index and indirectly support the conclusions about its reduced information value. The thesis discusses the options for modification, both at the level of composite index construction and presentation, and at the level of individual indicators of the environmental component.
