Pension fund investments in the Czech Republic
Novotný, Ondřej ; Vybíral, Roman (advisor) ; Večeř, Miroslava (referee)
Pension fund investments in the Czech Republic Abstract and keywords The thesis deals with the regulation of pension fund investments in the Czech Republic, specifically the investments of participating funds, transformed funds and the pan-European personal pension product. In the thesis, I have described each of the considered systems in turn and made a comparison between them. The aim of my thesis was to describe the regulation and to suggest possible adjustments to the regulation so that it could lead to better outcomes for participants in pension products. I have used communication with investment professionals and academic papers on the subject to determine the practical impact of each regulation. The analysis I carried out led to the development of recommendations, which I used to conclude the sections for each pension product. I also inserted some recommendations into the sections on the different aspects of the pension products. The thesis is divided into four chapters, the first of which is an introduction to the system that has been established in the Czech Republic. The following three chapters describe and evaluate the legal regulations of the different pension products according to the date of their creation. Thus, in the second chapter I deal with supplementary pension insurance, describing...
Memories of an Aegean Borderscape: Belonging to Imvros (Gökçeada/Ίμβρος)
Brody, Laura Nicole ; Horová, Miroslava (advisor) ; Tsimouris, Giorgos (referee) ; Carpentier, Nico (referee)
Zoning in on the Aegean island of Imvros - Gökçeada in Turkish and Ίμβρος in Greek - this thesis deploys the developing 'borderscape' lens to explore socio-political myths of belonging linked to processes of diaspora creation and return. By tracing diverse 'borderscaping' practices which have occurred on Imvros since its post-WWI cession to the newly-created Turkish nation- state and the exemption of its Greek-speaking inhabitants from the 1923 Greco-Turkish population exchange, it highlights a substantial shift between 'hegemonic borderscape' and 'counter-hegemonic borderscape' eras occurring on the island roughly in the early 1990s. Whereas the 'hegemonic borderscape' era is linked to the multifaceted impact(s) of Turkish nation-building on the forced displacement of Imvros' Greek-speaking inhabitants - and thus the parallel creation of the Imvriot diaspora - primarily between the 1960s and 1980s, the 'counter-hegemonic borderscape' era is instead linked to the unfolding diasporic return movement which has been partaken in by some members of the Imvriot diaspora since the early 1990s. Data for this thesis also draws on 42 interviews and 33 mental maps collected from first, second and third-generation members of the Imvriot diaspora who agreed to participate in a grounded theory ethnography conducted in...
Assessing Adaptation Measures in a Selected 4th Order Watershed
Plevková, Miroslava ; Dumbrovský, Miroslav
The aim of this study is to propose and evaluate adaptation measures within the selected 4th order watershed (4-15-03-104). The primary goal of these proposed measures is to stabilize the water regime in the landscape and manage extreme hydrological phenomena, as well as to mitigate erosion risks in the territory. This approach aims to create a harmonious landscape aligning with the fundamental principles of sustainable development. Prior to the proposal, the territory underwent a detailed analysis based on available data and field reconnaissance. The research compares two variants with the current state of the landscape. Variant 1 utilizes historical maps as a foundation, while variant 2 incorporates measures designed to optimize the landscape in response to ongoing climate change.
Development of a Hybrid Wall-Framed System
Javoríková, Miroslava ; Hronský, Michal
This paper explores the development of a novel wall-skeletal modular structure using Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT). Research by Design methodology was employed to examine the hybrid system's feasibility and sustainability. The study includes designing and testing a CLT pavilion, highlighting the system's potential in diverse architectural applications. Key findings involve structural load analysis software and the adaptability of this modular approach in various building types.
Pupils’ (dis)interest in the teaching profession: an international comparison
Federičová, Miroslava
Many European countries, including the Czech Republic, currently face a shortage of teachers, especially quality teachers. One possible solution to this would be to support aspiring teachers at a younger age, during their studies at primary and secondary school. This study provides an empirical overview of teaching aspirations among 15-year-old school pupils in European countries based on data from the international PISA survey.
Family of child with Kabuki synrome
Jarošová, Kateřina ; Mužáková, Monika (advisor) ; Bartoňová, Miroslava (referee)
The thesis is about a family of a child with Kabuki syndrome. The first chapter deals with the syndrome itself, diagnosis, clinical symptoms and cognitive functions. The second chapter describes the family with the rare condition, the family in the context of the history and what stages the family of the child with the rare condition goes through. The practical section explores the family of an individual with Kabuki syndrome, and includes an interview with a family member. The research section is supplemented with a case study.
SMV-2023-40: Characterization of sources and optical elements of coherent optics and use for commercial devices
Holá, Miroslava ; Řeřucha, Šimon ; Pravdová, Lenka ; Čížek, Martin
The contract research was focused on the characterization of the laser source. The characterization of the laser source was divided into two parts. The first part was focused on characterizing the optical frequency of the laser source for at least 100 hours with a resolution better than 100kHz. The second part concerned the zero-drift characterization of a common-path differential interferometer. It was a measurement of interference phase fluctuations during the reflection of interferometer arm beams on a common mirror (zero-drift) lasting at least 100 hours with a resolution better than 1 nm for a pair of differential interferometers with simultaneous measurement of atmospheric parameters.
