Possibilities of rehabilitation in children with cleft defects
Ješutová, Kateřina ; Černická, Barbara (advisor) ; Málková, Michaela (referee)
The cleft defects of orofacial complex belong among the most frequent congenital defects. These defects are affecting functions of orofacial complex and then complications of food intake, breathing, phonation and mimics can occur. On that ground the treatment needs complex care. The members of multidisciplinar team are plastic surgeon, orthodontist, paediatrician, geneticist, anaesthetist, anthropologist, phoniatrician, speech therapist and psychologist. The aim of the work is to describe physiotherapeutical techniques, methods or concepts, which can reduce, clear off or prevent disorders of orofacial complex functions since newborns. Currently it can support physiological motory development of children. The assimilation of physiotherapy into care complex could improve therapy for children with cleft defects. The estimation of body composition in peripubertal girls
Pavelčáková, Tereza ; Krásničanová, Hana (advisor) ; Málková, Michaela (referee)
184 second grade girls from different primary schools were measured. Current body height, body weight, mid-arm circumference, body mass index and the skinfold thickness were established. All the body characteristics were statistically processed and they were analysed. The results are in a good agreement with current czech standards (V. and VI. Nation-wide Anthropological Survey of Children and Adolescents in the Czech Republic 1991, 2001), or in case of skinfold thickness (Bláha et al, 1999 a ). The results could be influenced by the optional permition of girls
Macrocyclic chelators for metal-radionuclides
Málková, Michaela ; Hermann, Petr (advisor) ; Příhoda, Jiří (referee) ; Komárek, Pavel (referee)
5 Abstract in English Complexation properties of structurally related macrocyclic polyazachelators with different metal ions suitable for a medicinal use were studied. In the present work, a study of chelators formally derived from H4dota (1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-1,4,7,10- tetraacetic acid) by replacement of one or four carboxylic groups with a phosphorus acid moiety(ies) was performed. Three new chelators were studied: H4do3apABn (10-{[(4-aminobenzyl)hydroxyphosphoryl]methyl}- 1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-1,4,7-triacetic acid), H5do3apPrA (10-{[(2-carboxyethyl)hydroxyphosphoryl]methyl}- 1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-1,4,7-triacetic acid), H4dotpOEt [1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-1,4,7,10- tetrakis(methylphosphonic acid monoethylester)] In addition new data on stability constants of transition metal complexes of H5do3ap, 10-[(dihydroxyphosphoryl)methyl]- 1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-1,4,7-triacetic acid, are presented. The achieved results suggest that all studied chelators form complexes with di- and trivalent metal ions with sufficient thermodynamic stability and kinetic inertness for the potential medicinal applications. The formation rate of complexes of the monophosphonic/inic chelators is comparable to that of the H4dota complexes. The formation rate of the complexes depends highly on...

Rehabilitation issues for patient with acute disseminated encephalomyelitis
Tyburcová, Marie ; Zumrová, Alena (advisor) ; Málková, Michaela (referee)
Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM) is a serious neurological disease with a variable progression, which can have permanent consequences for the patient, despite medical advances. An irreplaceable element of complex treatment is rehabilitation which has in recent years become a sophisticated preventative therapeutic method, mainly based on the study of plasticity and of the possibilities of brain regeneration. This work presents a comprehensive theoretical overview of our current knowledge of a relatively rare autoimmune disease of the central nervous system (CNS) as well as current options and procedures for affecting the course of the disease and its consequences through physiotherapy. It was written based on the collection of theoretical data, questioning and observation of the physiotherapy of a patient with ADEM, who was hospitalised for five months in various wards of 2nd Faculty of Medicine in Prague. Physiotherapeutic procedures are divided and applied in both the theoretical and practical parts of the work according to the phase model. Theoretical knowledge, drawn from published case studies, as well as the course of the observed patient's disease and his following convalescence clearly illustrate that provided the timely commencement of intensive treatment and the continuation...
Manual therapy for children - a summary
