Eliška Haškovcová Title: Occupational Therapy Screening of Sensory Processing in Children with Perinatal Load in Preschool Age Abstract: Sensory Processing Disorders (SPD) have their origin in altered function of central nervous system. Children with SPD have difficulty to process sensory information and act in a proper way. Sensory Processing Disorders permeate all areas of an individual's perception and behaviour and have a significant impact on the quality of life of the child and his/her family. Children born prematurely are reported to be at higher risk of developing some form of SPD. This thesis focuses on the association between SPD and perinatal load. It is focused on the difficulties faced by children with SPD and their impact on further development, particularly in the preschool age. The theoretical part provides an thorough overview of the issues mentioned above. The practical part focuses on the design of an examination protocol to capture SPD in children with perinatal load in preschool age. The use of the proposed examination protocol is tested in six concrete patients with perinatal load. The results are then interpreted in the form of reduced case studies, which are primarily aimed at...

Title: Creating a Video Manual of Proper Administration of the Purdue Pegboard Test According to the Czech Extended Version of the Manual for the Purdue Pegboard Test (PPT): Model 32020A Abstract: A common consequence of a stroke is a fine motor skills dysfunction. The widely used Purdue Pegboard Test (PPT) measures the dexterity of the fingers of each hand separately or both together. The tested subject should insert as many components as possible into the holes in the test board during five time-limited subtests exactly according to the instructions written in the manual. In the Czech Republic, various working versions of the translation of the manual have been used so far, containing verbal instructions necessary for the administration of the test. In October 2021, the Czech Extended Version Manual for Purdue Pegboard Test (PPT): Model 32020A was published. In addition, it contains new rules for solving and evaluating situations (e.g. falling of a peg on the ground, changing hands during making assemblies), which therapists have not yet dealt with uniformly. Audio recordings of verbal instructions are also available to facilitate PPT correct administration. The aim of this bachelor's thesis was to create a videomanual of proper PPT administration according to the already mentioned new version of the...

Švecová, Adéla ; Uhlířová, Jaromíra (advisor) ; Kuželková, Anna (referee)
OF MASTER THESIS Tittle of master thesis: Use of individual types of positioning on patients after stroke in the acute and subacute phase of rehabilitation from the perspective of occupational therapy. Stroke is one of the diseases that most affects the human population. It can result in temporary disability, permanent consequences and death. The patient's positioning after a stroke can affect many risks of secondary changes. The aim of this work is to find out how occupational therapists are involved in the positioning of patients in the acute and subacute phase after a stroke in stroke centers in the Czech Republic and how the positioning in stroke centers takes place. The literature and recommended procedures show that the correct positioning after a stroke in the acute and subacute phase prevents the development of immobilization syndrome and secondary changes. Positioning patients after a stroke can affect muscle tone, shoulder pain, prevent subluxation in the joints, maintain passive and active range in the joints, etc. In patients after a stroke, agitation should occur from the affected side to support the return of sensorimotor functions and to involve the affected parties to activities. The occupational therapist is most involved in positioning the affected upper limb, especially to...
