Case study of gender dysphoria and the process of changes in emotional aspects of personality

This paper focuses on the emotional aspects of personality in trans woman during gender transition and the process of treating her gender dysphoria. The aim of this thesis is to explore how a trans woman perceives the emotional aspects of her personality before and after her transition and what factors, according to her account, influence changes within the emotional aspects of her personality. Data is collected through a semi-structured interview focusing on each emotional aspect of personality and is supplemented with data obtained from emotional intelligence questionnaires completed by the respondent before and after her transition. This work captures changes in all emotional aspects of the respondent's personality and notes a complete transformation of emotional functioning in some. We observe medical and social transition, gender identity and gender roles as factors influencing changes within the emotional aspects of personality. The findings of this paper can be used in practice by professionals working with transgender people to better understand their clients or can serve as a source of inspiration for further research in the area of emotional functioning of trans people.
The social representation of the theory of attachement in an intercultural dimension

in English The doctor's thesis Attachment and emotional intelligence in an intercultural dimension is composed of several levels. The theoretical part explains the history and development of the theory of attachment based on the authors John Bowlby and Mary Ainsworth. Further the concept of the theory of attachment throughout the developmental stages up to early adulthood is explored and actual studies are presented. The goal of the theoretical part is to show the connection between the theory of attachment and emotional intelligence and underline the importance of these concepts for adolescence and early adulthood. The uniqueness of this study is the intercultural frame: three different cultures, France, USA and Czech Republic that have a contrastingly different approach of early childhood and motherhood. The aim of this doctoral thesis is on one hand side to capture the actual social representation of motherhood and further explore the possible interference between attachment and emotional intelligence in adolescence and early childhood. Emotional intelligence in emerging adulthood and parenting styles

This bachelor's thesis deals with the relationship between emotional intelligence and parenting styles among people in the age of emerging adulthood. The literary review part summarizes current knowledge on the concept of emotional intelligence, its components, diagnostic tools and its significance in human development. Furthermore the work characterizes the period of emerging adulthood according to Arnett and its specifics. Additionally, it deals with parenting styles, mainly according to the model by Čáp and Mareš. Lastly, the thesis summarizes the findings so far on the relationship between emotional intelligence and parental upbringing. The proposal of the research project aims to observe, using the Family Parenting Questionnaire and the MSCEIT emotional intelligence test, the connection between the parenting style and the emotional intelligence of adolescents aged 18-22.
