Horáková, Zuzana ; Balon, Jan (advisor) ; Hájek, Martin (referee)
This research address the topic of hipster phenomenon and its discursive manifestations in the online magazine VICE. The theoretical part of the thesis submits the basic discursive frameworks which serve as a theoretical anchoring for the practical part based on discursive analysis of the articles. The analysis itself is based on 11 articles mainly from the section Remembering the Hipster, which was chosen as the most appropriate for this study. The aim of the thesis is to explore the main discursive manifestations of hipster culture in those articles and to find out, whether those reproduced manifestations overlap with identified categories from the theoretical part, or whether they differ from each other. The main purpose of this analysis is then to find out what does it mean to be hipster according to VICE magazine contributors.

Horáková, Zuzana ; Balon, Jan (advisor) ; Hájek, Martin (referee)
This research seeks to address the topic of the influence of the YouTube advertising on society as seen by the members of hipster subculture. This work aims to explore the attitude of hipsters towards the YouTube thanks to an analysis of the interviews and also with the help of a theoretical framework of core concepts such as subculture, hipster, lifestyle or advertising practices. The reason I address hipster attitudes is the fact, that hipster phenomenon has become widespread nowadays. Moreover, those individuals are associated with skeptical stance towards the mainstream trends. Therefore, I have decided to confront the ostensibly distrustful view of hipsters towards YouTube as a representative of modern mainstream and then analyze self-proclaimed attitudes of hipsters as such.

Zuzana Horáková Hurychová Dissertation: Structure and dynamics of close personal relationships ABSTRACT Keywords: Close personal relationship, components of close relationships, close relationship's dynamics, relationship type, methods of measuring close relationships, prototype approach, RCI, DOTEV The thesis deals with close personal relationships and their specific characteristics. Even though this area has been extensively explored abroad, it has received little attention in the Czech Republic. We can see a certain paradox: While there are no standard methods of measuring or specifying relationship characteristics of the Czech population, foreign literature is abundant in theories on how close personal relationships work, offering methods of their measurement. These methods usually focus on a specific component of the relationship. Therefore, it has not been possible to fully meet the objectives of this thesis. The first objective was to perform a theoretical mapping of close relationships, which is not fully possible due to the limited extent of the thesis. Thus, I only focused on the most frequently cited and most interesting, in my opinion, concepts that offer practical methods of measuring close relationships. The thesis offers a wide, though not exhaustive, overview that has served as a basis for...
Motion Pictures - Illustration of Thinking Process
Horáková, Zuzana ; Bystřický, Jiří (advisor) ; Mucha, Ivan (referee)
In my thesis Motion Pictures - Illustration of Thinking Process I work with a presumption that art is able to illustrate thinking. Thinking, like continual unstoppable process, can be "captured" in one fixed point or cross-section and this create a possibility how to describe thinking and how to get closer to it. By the film we can show the thinking processes that are mostly very difficult to capture, and the changes that thinking and film itself went through in last decades - first off the digital revolution.
