Religious pluralism in some contemporary debates
Kobera, Marek ; Jandejsek, Petr (advisor) ; Štampach, Ivan (referee)
The thesis "Religious plurality in some current discussions" deals with some recent discussions within Christian theology. The ideas of the Declaration of Abu Dhabi regarding the positive outlook for the development of humanity (not only) thanks to interreligious dialogue were presented. Similar results of interreligious dialogue (albeit to a lesser extent) can be found in Dupuis's theology. In addition, according to the findings of the work, it can serve as a theoretical starting point for both the Declaration of Abu Dhabi, and the Declaration of Nur-Sultan. (Of course, we don't know if that was the case.) other Paradigms and models of the theology of religion and their representatives were briefly listed. I presented how Dupuis's theology is received by other theologians and took my own critical position on it in 11 objections/questions for clarification or further study. The dispute over inculturated Indian Christianity is manifested in Christian ashrams and in the phenomenon of persecution of Christians.
The Contemporary Form of the Bektashi Order in Albania, Kosovo and North Macedonia: Sources of Bektashi Spirituality
Korábečný, Martin ; de la Vega Nosek, Lukáš (advisor) ; Štampach, Ivan (referee)
- anglicky The focus of this thesis is folk spirituality of the bektashi order. A field research trip in Albania, Kosovo and North Macedonia has been conducted to show the importance of the category of the Sacred. For this reason the first part of thesis deals with the category of the sacred and the category of spirituality, and contains application of the category of the Sacred on bektashiya. We use the model here proposed by Ninian Smart and Zdeněk Vojtíšek which allows for folk spirituality and individuality of spiritual experience be included within spirituality of subjective experience framework without putting a value on them or limiting them. We see them as part of a larger framework of spirituality where different dimensions can be determined, i.e. sacred presuppositions, rituals, experience, community, ethics, work of art and sacred stories. It is possible to feed human spirituality on different dimensions from various sources. During the field trip the conclusion has been reached that people who draw for their spirituality from bektashi tradition tend to choose certain aspects to include them in their personal spirituality as folk spirituality aspects. Second part of the thesis focuses on their source. Three sources had been determined - local culture, christianity and/or shamanism....
Last Testament Church in the Conflict with Surrounding Society
Myths of the Contemporary Man: An Application of the "Mythic Reading" Method to the Selected Works of the World of the World Literature of the 20th and 21st Centuries.
Bargár, Pavol ; Balabán, Milan (advisor) ; Štampach, Ivan (referee) ; Trojan, Jakub (referee)
Present paper tries to offer an approach to the myth which would characterize the currentness of myth for the contemporary man. The paper begins with an attempt to grasp meaning(s) of the Greek term μυθος, its relationship to the term λογος in the course of history and a critical evaluation of definitions and interpretation methods on case studies of selected scientists in the field of myth theory. Subsequently, own definition of myth is proposed, following and elaborating the theories of P. Ricoeur, L. Coupe, D. Cupitt, and others. Myth is then perceived as a dialectics between narrative and mythic motives which are not unalterable but, in the context created by a story, they obtain always a new meaning. In such manner, myths form chains of interconnected versions that are open for future interpretations in the process of "radical typology." Myths are not restricted to the realm of religion, "radical typology" factors profane context into calculation. Individual links of the chains of myths can represent pieces of literature as well. It is the literary works of 20th and 21st century (M. Bulgakov's The Master and Margarita, G. Orwell's 1984, H. Murakami's Kafka on the Seashore, P. Auster's The City of Glass) that are in this paper interpreted as myths, the method of "mythic reading" being applied. It is...

Claim for Truth and the Challenge of Religious Pluralism: State of Discussion in Present-day Christianity
Mrázek, Miloš ; Hošek, Pavel (advisor) ; Štampach, Ivan (referee) ; Vojtíšek, Zdeněk (referee)
The thesis dicusses different responses to the challenge of religious pluralism in Christianity. It focuses on the question of how the present-day Christians respond to this challenge, how they relate to the traditional claim of the unique truth of Divine revelation in Christian teaching, and how they understand the concept of truth itself in this context. The text thus maps different trends and movements in current Christianity and introduces problems concerning the definition of the concept of religious pluralism in religious studies and the issues of the current philosophical discussion on the nature of truth - both in general and in religious discourse in particular. Rationalising religious discrepancies
Poruba, Lukáš ; Štampach, Ivan Odilo (advisor) ; Řehák, Petr (referee)
In this thesis I discuss a religious phenomenon which I consider in-sufficiently researched in available Czech literature. This phenomenon constitutes of situations where a religious group or an individual reacts to conflicting meanings of their belief by an interpretation in such a way that these so far conflicting meanings become consistent. In the first section of the thesis I look at the examples of such a phenomenon that can be found in official scriptures and texts of selected religions. In the next section of the thesis I investigate the phenomenon by the use of the psychology. I focus on the theory of cognitive dissonance, especially then the reduction of the cognitive dissonance by adding new cognitive elements. In the practical section of the thesis I then research the phenomenon in real life settings. I assume that this phenomenon can be also found outside the framework given by the official religious doctrines and thereafter I try to find out if and how this phenomenon occurs in the personal life of any religious (nebo spis believing) person. Keywords Religion, religious discrepancy, religious viewpoint, cognitive dissonance, cognitive consonance, reduction of cognitive dissonance, adding new cognitive element.
The Relationship Between Theology and Poetry In Dorothee Sölle
Šipka, Magdaléna ; Kočandrle Bauer, Kateřina (advisor) ; Štampach, Ivan (referee)
This dissertation examines the poetry of Dorothee Sölle, particularly her seven books of collected poems - Meditationen & Gebrauchstexte, Revolutionäre geduld, Fliegen lernen, Spiel doch von brot und rosen, Verrückt nach licht, Zivil und ungehörsam, Loben ohne lügen. At least two poems from each book are chosen for analysis based on the theological concept they express. It thus attempts to cover most of the concepts Sölle elaborates upon in her works. The second part of the thesis then focuses on the use of biblical passages in Dorothee Sölle's poetry, offering to view them in three subject cathegories based on her ways of working with them. Those are 1) 2) Re-telling the Bible, and 3) Contemplating upon the passages themselves. It further examines the synthesis of religious and social topics throughout her works, again suggesting to divide them into 1) Contemporary 2) Historical, and 3) Stuctural, based on the nature of the social topics portrayed in them. The thesis also explores Sölle's depiction of God, concluding that Sölle sees God in her poems not as a governing, dominating entity, but rather as a co-creator, God weeping and compassionate with the world. Sölle sees this image of God's empathy and involvement with man as an incentive for the man to become the same, to act similarly.
