Race Riots in Great Britain at the End of the 1950s
Šimonová, Zuzana ; Soukup, Jaromír (advisor) ; Kovář, Martin (referee)
This bachelor thesis analyzes the causes, course, and consequences of the race riots in Great Britain at the end of the 1950s. The text concentrates on the conditions of immigration to the British islands after the World War II, especially immigration from the British West Indies, citizens of which dominated the immigration of the so called New Commonwealth in the 1950s. Attention is focused on growing antipathy of the majority of society against Caribbean immigrants whose presence was linked to a range of problems, particularly in the area of housing. In this and other areas of life in Britain, the immigrants were encountering prejudice, discrimination, and physical attacks. Main emphasis is laid on the escalation of tensions during the summer 1958 and the course of the race riots in Nottingham and Notting Hill at the turn of August and September 1958 which shook the whole Britain. The final part of the bachelor thesis analyzes the reaction of British society to the race riots and their impact on the Caribbean community.
Understanding Selected Topics of the European Integration
Šimonová, Zuzana ; Dvořáková, Michaela (advisor) ; Tichá, Milena (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to diagnose the understanding of chosen topics regarding european integration of high school students in relation with incorporation of the topic among curriculum documents. Theoretical part of the thesis introduces the analysis of general educational programmes followed up with general summary of development of integration process into the form it has nowadays and also summary of institutions and their functions. Further we are introducing a contructive approach to teaching which is used as a base of practical part of our thesis. In the end of this part are stated the outcomes of the investigation of existing researches in this area. In the practical part of the thesis we implemented our own qualitative investigative sound using the method of half-structured in-depth conversation. The data gathered from this method were subsequently qualitatively analysed. In the end of the thesis we are introducing the outcomes of investigative sound and comparing them with outcomes of other researches where possible. The outcomes of the investigative sound were crucial for our teaching recommendations.

Šimonová, Zuzana ; Horáková, Jana (advisor) ; Jadrná, Monika (referee)
The bachelor thesis is focused on an employee motivation in an organization and its using in an efficient leadership. The bachelor thesis is based on a studying literature which is related to the subject matter and on the structured interviews with the managers of the chosen organizations. The theoretical part determines the basic concepts as a management, a role and tasks of a manager in an organization and a types of employee management. An emphasis was given on the concepts which deals with a general motivation as a motives of people, motivation resources and its obstacles. In the end of the theoretical part are defined the motivational theories by important psychologists. The empirical part is focused on the structured interview with the managers of the chosen organizations. The questions are focused on the way of motivating employees and the practical use of motivation factors.
Determination of N-glycome of the tick \kur{Ixodes ricinus} and \kur{Dermacentor marginatus}; Analysis of N-glycans in tick tissues and their comparison
ŠIMONOVÁ, Zuzana
Glycosylation in vertebrates has a main role in many important processes such as cell transport, protein folding, secretion of proteins etc. What function has glycosylation in arthropods, for example in ticks, is rarely studied. This work was focused on analysis of N-glycans in tick tissues, namely in Ixodes ricinus and Dermacentor marginatus. High-mannose glycans as well as complex glycans with or without core-fucosylation were identified in this study.Furthermore several sialylated glycans were present in the studied samples. Sialic acid is found in arthropods rarely and this is the first study which directly proves its presence in ticks using mass spectrometry.
Complete genome sequence analysis of TBE virus, strain Hypr, in different passages in host \kur{in vivo}.
ŠIMONOVÁ, Zuzana
I have compared genomic sequences of three variants of tick-borne encephalitis virus, strain Hypr. The variants used were Hypr5 {--} virus passaged five times in suckling mice brains, Hypr50/V {--} a variant highly passaged in vivo in Vienna, and Hypr50/CB {--} a variant highly passaged in vivo in České Budějovice. Both high-passage variants were passaged in suckling mouse brains as well. I was interested in changes in nucleotide sequence of genomes of high-passage variants Hypr50/V and Hypr50/CB compared with Hypr5 and also consequential changes in amino-acid sequences of viral proteins. I have found several identical changes in amino-acid sequences of E protein, NS3 and NS5 proteins in both high-passage variants and also a number of substitutions unique to one of the variants in proteins E, NS1, NS2A, NS2B, and NS3. A nucleotide substitution was found also in 5{\crq}UTR of the viral genome.
