Managing digital library of the National Library of Technology and the long-term preservation of digital documents: a case study

(English): Theoretical part of this document briefly describes current state of LTP standardization on global scale and coresponding situation in Czech Republic according to available literature with focus on digital curation. Practical part analises management of NTK digital library, its documentation, processes and outputs in archiving of digital documents based on half-structured interviews with responsible institution employees. As final product there will be comparative study of LTP standart of choice (ISO 16363) and practice within institution which will lay out most problematic areas. Library as a part of multifunctional house showing an example of project from city part "Praha - Horní Počernice"

Bachelor's thesis describes a case study project of a multifunctional house in Prague-Horni Pocernice. It informs about the phenomenon of multifamily houses in the Federal Republic of Germany. Work contains information on how libraries are presented in multifunctional and multigenerational buildings and what specific services in this environments are provided. Multifunctional houses with library are emphasized. In the second half, detailed information about past and present of the City of Prague-Horni Pocernice is provided. The public library is introduced. Finally, the project of "Multifunctional house in Praha-Horni Pocernice" is described.

Subject Information Gateway Art and Architecture (ART)

The thesis deals with the of subject gateway Art and architecture (ART). It is a project, which includes eleven libraries. Its final product is a web portal that acts as a union catalogue of all member libraries with additional functions such as information about exhibitions, book promotions and news. The first part of the thesis captures theoretical introduction to the subject gateways in general terms, defines the terminology, captures the history of the subject gateways in the Czech Republic and characterizes technologies that subject gateways are using. This sectional so includes technological solutions of the current website of subject gateway ART. The second part describes the origin and status of the subject gateway ART, including analysis of its website and knowledge from the controlled interview with coordinators of the gateway. The third section includes a case study of user searches in which was examined how the selected respondent from the target group of the project was working with the portal of the subject gateway ART and its features. This part also describes recommended optimizations of selected portal functions for better usage of the gateway. Senior Citizens write Wikipedia: development of the project and analysis of system data

This bachelor thesis deals with Senior Citizens Write Wikipedia, a project organized by Wikimedia Czech Republic. Both institutional and social background of this project and general issues of senior's life, free time and further education are described. Also described is the development of the project up to the end of 2016 and its outlook in 2017. The claim that some of the participants in the project's courses contribute to Wikipedia even after the end of the course is a main hypothesis of the analytical part of this work. Furthermore, the factors which influence the activity of the seniors after the course (sex or contact with wiki community) are looked into by means of partial hypotheses, analyzing the correlation with the time which has passed since the end of the course. Regional differences in the access to courses at the level of Czech districts were also detected. Non-book material loan in selected libraries - exploration of effectivity

The aim of this thesis is to find out information about non-book material loans in Czech libraries whose variety has been extended. Theoretical part deals with library services focused on less conventional services. Second part focuses on exploration of occurrence and details of these services in Czech libraries. Research is carried out through online questionnaires. Selected libraries will be examine in greater detail. Library statistics, interviews with librarians and patrons, analysis of design and marketing will be used with intention to create case studies. The thesis will concluded with comparison of case studies and theoretical part and bring an evaluation of strengths and weaknesses of these services.

The barriers to the use of library services by migrants from Belarus, Russia and Ukraine

The bachelor thesis deals with barrier problems, which appear in communication between migrant, who could be Russian, Ukrainian or Belarusian, and Czech librarian. The first chapter devoted to theoretical introduction in intercultural communication; describes such terms as culture, national minority, assimilation and others. The second chapter devoted to detailed analysis of barriers (language, psychological), which can influence on communication of both sides. The third chapter focuses to foreigners (their types: migrant, refugee, asylum seeker) and on the types of residence, that migrants can obtain in the Czech Republic. There is also briefly describes the Ukrainians, Russians and Belarusians (reasons for migration, the number of migrants in the Czech Republic and so on.). The fourth chapter is practical and describes how is the situation in the Municipal Library in Prague, as well as research - including their preparation, methodology, process and results - which were analyzed by me in the two branches of this library. Both librarians and migrants took part in this research; and opinions of both groups are presented. . Information base for foreign students selected the Czech university

(in English) The aim of bachelor thesis is an analysis of information base for foreign students at Czech University of Life Sciences. The theoretical part of the thesis describes situation of foreign students at universities, economical aspects of recruiting foreign students to higher education institutions and programs of mobility offered by Czech universities. Further the thesis deals with problematical definition of concept information need connected with information seeking behavior and types of information needs. Information needs of foreign students are identified by analyzing foreign user studies. In the end of the theoretical part services of universities and academic libraries for foreign students are characterized. The practical part is aimed to analyse information base for foreign students at Czech University of Life Sciences Prague. At the beginning of practical part Czech University of Life Sciences is briefly described with its history, offered programs of mobility and numbers of foreign students at university in recent years. The fund profile of selected library in the view of representation of topic of the new religions, sects and magic.

Thesis describes a basic analysis of the acquisition, processing, access to and use of titles in the topics of new religions, sects and magic in the Municipal Library in Prague. The work is based on theoretical definition of topics of new religions, sects and magic, and their division into sub-topics. A separate chapter is devoted to theoretical description of the decomposition of the library system. In the practical part is an analysis of 30 selected publications representing these topics. This part is based on the method of structured interviews with employees of the selected library, observation and data processing of computerized library information system (bibliographic records, anonymized logs borrowing).
