Separation and determination of pharmaceutically important compounds using electrophoretic methods
Hamoudová, Rafífa ; Pospíšilová, Marie (advisor) ; Nobilis, Milan (referee) ; Jokl, Vladimír (referee)
This thesis deals with the use of electrophoretic methods in the analysis of pharmaceutically important compounds. In the theoretical part, the classification of capillary electrophoretic techniques is discussed. Capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE, capillary isotachophoresis (ITP), micellar elektrokinetic chromatography (MEKC), microemulsion elektrokinetic chromatography (MEEKC), isoelectric focusation (IEF), capillary electrochromatography (CEC) and capillary gel electrophoresis (CGE) are described. Further, on-line pre-concentration methods are described. Particular attention is given to the on-line combination of capillary isotachophoresis with capillary zone electrophoresis using column coupling arrangement. This combination enables the improvement of the selectivity of separation and the improvement of the limit of detection of analytes present in complex matrices of biological and environmental origin. Afterwards, the results of the experimental analyses are presented: 1. The first paper deals with the use of CZE in the analysis of ibuprofen and flurbiprofen in pharmaceuticals. Separation was carried out in a fused silica capillary (60 cm x 100 m I.D effective length 45 cm) at 30 kV with UV detection at 232 nm. The optimized background electrolyte was 20mM N-(2- acetamido)-2-aminoethanesulfonic acid...

Eugene Onegin in Czech translations
Rubáš, Stanislav ; Hrala, Milan (advisor) ; Král, Oldřich (referee) ; Honzík, Jiří (referee)
The paper covers five complete Czech translations of Pushkin's Eugene Onegin by Václav Čeněk Bendl, Václav Alois Jung, Josef Hora, Olga Mašková and Milan Dvořák. Translation quality assessment is based on the question of how each rendering reflects semantic complexities of the original. Analysis of each translation involves the significant phonetic, imaginative, ideational and structural features of Pushkin's novel in verse. Often a particular rendering is contrasted with another one to demonstrate its style more clearly, including some of the incomplete renderings of Onegin, especially that by Jan Evangelista Purkyně. All the translations analysed are put into their historical context. It follows that most of them were created at some crucial point in the Czech history (1860, 1937 and 1966) and in some way reflect "the spirit of their time". Bendl changed the structure of the original by a shift in metre. He replaced iambic tetrameter by iambic pentameter. As a result, he was given more room to develop the thoughts and imagery of Pushkin's novel in verse. However, he often turned his translation into renarration and contaminated his rendering with a great deal of semantic shifts. ...

Potential and barriers of development of Hranice
Důjková, Veronika ; Damborský, Milan (advisor) ; Čabalová, Dagmar (referee)
This thesis is focused on municipal development of Hranice. In the theoretical part, the concept of town is defined and main functions of the town are determined. Then it deals with description of tools for support of municipal development. The practical part consists of complex socioeconomic analysis according to several spheres and then there are partial and complete SWOT analyses which characterize the town of Hranice. The last part is divided into six spheres of development where main potential and barriers of development of the town are specified. These potential and barriers are determined in terms of performed analyses.

Analysis of pile load test
Ponížil, Cyril ; Kotačková, Alena (referee) ; Fiala, Radek (advisor)
There is ussualy used the Masopust's method to assessment the piles in Czech Republic. This method is based on statistical processing of large data set of load piles tests. Due to the using of regression coefficients this method is relatively complicated and not very transparent. Instead, foreign standards ussualy use direct the values of limit stress on the base of piles and unit friction capacity. Procedure for determining the bearing capacity of the piles is thus considerably simplified. In this thesis the Masopust's method is compared with the methods used in Germany and Austria. This comparison provides insight to the safety level that include various approaches.

Statistical tests power analysis
Kubrycht, Pavel ; Malá, Ivana (advisor) ; Bílková, Diana (referee)
This Thesis deals with the power of a statistical test and the associated problem of determining the appropriate sample size. It should be large enough to meet the requirements of the probabilities of errors of both the first and second kind. The aim of this Thesis is to demonstrate theoretical methods that result in derivation of formulas for minimum sample size determination. For this Thesis, three important probability distributions have been chosen: Normal, Bernoulli, and Exponential.
