The Depth of Functional Data.
Nagy, Stanislav ; Hlubinka, Daniel (advisor) ; Omelka, Marek (referee)
The depth function (functional) is a modern nonparametric statistical analysis tool for (finite-dimensional) data with lots of practical applications. In the present work we focus on the possibilities of the extension of the depth concept onto a functional data case. In the case of finite-dimensional functional data the isomorphism between the functional space and the finite-dimensional Euclidean space will be utilized in order to introduce the induced functional data depths. A theorem about induced depths' properties will be proven and on several examples the possibilities and restraints of it's practical applications will be shown. Moreover, we describe and demonstrate the advantages and disadvantages of the established depth functionals used in the literature (Fraiman-Muniz depths and band depths). In order to facilitate the outcoming drawbacks of known depths, we propose new, K-band depth based on the inference extension from continuous to smooth functions. Several important properties of the K-band depth will be derived. On a final supervised classification simulation study the reasonability of practical use of the new approach will be shown. As a conclusion, the computational complexity of all presented depth functionals will be compared.

Sign, symbol and allegory in Hawthorne's stories and The Scarlet Letter
Strouhalová, Slávka ; Procházka, Martin (advisor) ; Robbins, David Lee (referee)
In my thesis I will examine Nathaniel Hawthorne's stories The Minister's Black Veil and The Artist of the Beautiful as well as his famous romance The Scarlet Letter in terms of sign, symbol and allegory. I chose these particular works as typical representatives of Hawthorne's production. The Minister's Black Veil, first published in 1836, is an expression of Hawthorne's Puritan heritage recovery period, The Artist of the Beautiful, which came out in 1846 is an expression of his Romanticism and his dealings with Transcendentalism, while his major work, The Scarlet Letter, 1850, is a remarkable and complex blend of the two strains of his thinking and art. My thesis consists of four chapters. In the first chapter, named Sign, Symbol, and Allegory, I try to define what these terms mean, and to establish the difference between the first two, as some critics use the term sign and symbol interchangeably. I base my analysis on the Saussurian concept of sign, which will be outlined and contrasted with symbol. I will try to adumbrate the way in which reading of signs differs in the Puritan era and in the nineteenth century. I will characterize allegory and the patterns that enable us to recognize it, and I will mention how the understanding of what allegory is has changed in modern times. In the following three...

The Concept of Transnational Migration and Its Manifestations as Shown on the Example of the Ukrainian and Vietnamese Communities in the Czech Republic
Pospíšilová, Radka ; Marešová, Jarmila (referee) ; Drbohlav, Dušan (advisor)
7 ABSTRACT In the early 1990s first debates about transnational migration occurred. Some experts on migration started to point out that international migration had changed and it could no longer be perceived as a permanent movement from sending to receiving countries. Dense and continuous transborder linkages between migrants and their origin countries had been noted. The pioneers of the transnational migration perspective tried to establish transnational migration as a new phenomenon. However, more and more migration researchers draw attention to the fact that there is nothing new about ties between immigration and emigration countries. Due to the complexity and unclear boundaries of the whole transnational perspective, not a single transnational migration theory has been formulated yet. First of all, the thesis describes the development of the transnational perspective and presents various points of view, including the geographical one. Apart from that, the most important characteristics such as sending remittances, holding two passports or the role of transnational media are introduced. Secondly, following the theoretical knowledge of the transnational migration perspective, the thesis tries to discover whether there are any signs of transnational practices among the Ukrainian and Vietnamese communities...

The nursing process in a patient with polytrauma
Röschová, Veronika ; Tomová, Šárka (advisor) ; Pollert, Lukáš (referee)
Multiplex endangering health injuries which pertinent to traffic accident in the most case, can have influence to our life. Their occurrence is for example related to raising speed of traffic vehicles or alcohol and drugs. For next restoring of health is also very important first-aid treatment and emergent uptake in hospital. The necessitates not only expertise and experiences of doctors but also medical material and medical instruments support with many up to date diagnostic methods. The most important action is safeguarding and support of basic health functions. Next step is well- timed diagnosis and urgent treatment of endangering health process. Nurse services on ARO department are not only work with medical devices and some specialized medical help. In the first place we can talk about complex attention care with establishing of any demands and requirements and involvement prevention with no self-sustaining patients. Explicit fixed-points in provability logic
Chvalovský, Karel ; Bílková, Marta (referee) ; Švejdar, Vítězslav (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to discuss the explicit calculations of xed-points in provability logic GL. The xed-point theorem reads: For every modal formula A(p) such that each occurrence of p is under the scope of ¤, there is a formula D containing only sentence letters contained in A(p), not containing the sentence letter p, such that GL proves D ' A(D). Moreover, D is unique up to the provable equivalence. Firstly, we establish some special cases of the theorem and then we will look more closely at the full theorem. We show one semantic and two syntactic full xed-point constructions and prove their correctness. We also discuss some complexity aspects connected with the constructions and present basic upper bounds on length and modal depth of the constructed xed-points.

Burnout issues
Dufková, Markéta ; Krištofová, Zuzana (referee) ; Šnýdrová, Ivana (advisor)
This work attends to phenomenon of burnout and related aspects. It focuses mainly on posibilities of prevention and therapy of burnout. The term burnout is theoreticaly defined, as well as its causes, effects, course and diagnosis. In addition, it concentrates on prevention and therapy of burnout, mostly on applicability of supervision and logotherapy. Furthermore, the value for standard practice of described methods of prevention and therapy is discussed. The main goal of this work is to point out the importance of consistent prevention of burnout and selected therapy possibilities, as well as the importance of establishing general supervision even outside social services. The work is finished with a recommendation to establish a complex system of prevention of burnout as part of employee welfare policy in every organization.

Project Management in the E-business projects
Houžvička, Jakub ; Pour, Jan (advisor) ; Derfler, Václav (referee)
The bachelor work propose complex procedure of managing e-business projects. It begins in project concept (rights establishment of goals, deadlines, budget and selection of resources), after that follow analyses (market analysis, database analysis, process analysis and analysis of application architecture). Than it continues with process plan (list of tasks to be done and their delegation) and project implementation, at which is closely connected testing (user, security and execution) it ends with closing of project. The second part contains list of selected software tools, which enabling efective managing of project and its description. The tools are divided to commerce and non-commerce.

OSS and Provisioning in Telecom practise.
Dufek, Jaroslav ; Pour, Jan (advisor) ; Šaršon, Jindřich (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with Telco specialized software and its specific software focusing on OSS (Operational Support Systems) and ordering. The introductory chapter describes IT background of an average telecommunications provider and offers complex view to the relations with BSS (Business Support System). Pyramid causeway in the Old Kingdom: evolution of the architecture and definition of the relief decoration program
El - Awadí, Tárek Mohamed ; Verner, Miroslav (advisor) ; Bárta, Miroslav (referee) ; Charvát, Petr (referee)
In the spring of 1994, an unexpected discovery to the North of the upper part of Sahure's causeway changed the long established belief that the mortuary complex of Sahure was excavated completely by L. Borchardt.1 Four huge limestone blocks decorated in basrelief of the highest quality bearing unique polychrome scenes were discovered during that spring, proving Borchardt's excavations of Sahure's complex were incomplete. These four blocks were evidence that more decorated blocks and fragments were still under the masses of sand surrounding the upper part of the causeway which had never been investigated by Borchardt? This surprising discovery was the result of cleaning being done in the area in preparation to open the Abusir necropolis for tourists. The work was under the supervision of Zahi Hawass. Hawass stopped the work at Abusir and reburied the blocks after they were photographed and drawn with the help of the Czech mission working at Abusir. Only a preliminary report was published by Zahi Hawass and Miroslav Verner to present the discovery to scholars.3 In their report, a survey of the causeways from royal funerary complexes was performed to alert scholars that many causeways are partially or completely unexcavated and need to be given more attention.4 In 2002, the present author was trusted by Hawass...
