Hanková, Monika ; Vaněk, Miroslav (referee) ; Štaif, Jiří (advisor)
Author of the presented thesis deals with a theme which has been moreless neglected by modem Czech historiography, fortunes ofthe Jewish community in Bohemia and Moravia after World War II. Work is defined by a time horizon of the years 1945 - 1956 and divided in following chapters. Chapter I depicts the period following directly after the liberation of Czechoslovakia in 1945 to the year of 1948, when the communists came to power. Besides the primary difficulties with building of new life it mainly entails the matters of property ríghts. Years between 1948 and 1956, which are the subject of chapter II, are characterized by transformation of the attitude towards Jewish community and antisemistic tendencies of the governing power, that in the end led to the famous trials of the 50's (mainly in the show-trial known under the name of Slánský and others). As a part of this chapter there is a reconstruction of the activities and working of The Council of J ewish Religious Congregations in Bohemia and Moravia and the relations between ČSR and Israel in the time observed. The militarization of rural Japan in the inter-war period
Překotná modernizace v režii nových politických vůdců země probíhala zejména na základě napodobování a přejímání západních vzorů v nejširším spektru oblastí.

Eliptic indexing of multidimensional databases
Danko, Ondrej ; Hoksza, David (referee) ; Skopal, Tomáš (advisor)
In this work variation of R-tree, which hierarchically partition indexed space using minimum volume covering ellipsoids (MVCE) instead of usually used minimum bounding rectangles, is presented. Main aspects, which determine R-tree index structure performance, are studied from the available resources at the beginning. Base on this studies "e-Rtree" (ellipsoid R-tree) is designed. Afterward algorithms of MVCE construction are carefully analyzed, as the choice of the algorithm is crucial for the efficiency of indexing and retrieval. At the end of the work, eR-tree implementation over ATOM framework is presented along with experiments done on synthetic and real data sets.

Disturbances of effective osmolality in acute brain diseases
Špatenková, Věra ; Kazda, Antonín (advisor) ; Maňák, Jan (referee) ; Jabor, Antonín (referee)
Dysbalances of effective osmolality arc some of the most frequent and serious complications in neurointensive care. Their severity lies in brain oedema in hyponatraemia and dehydration of the brain in hypernatraemia. Due to the seriousness of dysnatraemia in acute brain diseases, timely and accurate diagnosis is necessary. Nowadays this is easily achieved through measuring and calculating renal function parameters. The aims of this study were 1) evaluation of hyponatraemia and hypernatraemia in acute brain diseases after establishing these renal parameters into clinical practice in our NNICU and 2) determining the significance ofNT-proBNP in differential diagnostics of hyponatraemia. Over a ten-year period, in a retrospective (1.1.1996 - 31.12.2000) and a prospective study (1.1.2001 - 31.12.2005) we evaluated all patients hospitalised in our NNICU with acute brain diseases, who had scrum sodium below 135 mmol/1 (collection hyponatraemia) or above 150 mmol/1 (collection hypernatraemia). The prospective part took place according to standard protocol for diagnosing hyponatraemia and hypernatraemia in the NNICU, which includes the measuring and calculating of renal function parameters. In the prospective study, assesment of NT-proBNP was carricd out on 40 patients with hyponatraemia. The control group consisted...

Solemnity of the last decades in the Czech Republic. Solemnity of modern times of the last decades shown on some examples, focusing on the solemnity of the socialist period in Žďár nad Sázavou

The thesis is written in form of a comparative study. It studies the Persian art and evolution of the used iconographic schemes and it tries to recognize the Greek and Roman influences on the iconography of the most widespread motifs in Persian art, but also the acceptance of new motifs and their further evolution. The thesis proceeds chronologically from the Achaemenid empire through Parthian and Sasanian empire, it observes the motifs of the sculptural decoration of palaces and very popular rock reliefs, metalwork, gems, coins and other artifacts, which changed under the influence of classical models. It considers the iconography of investiure and the deity represented in it, the influence of the iconography of goddess Nike, dionysiac iconograophy, the metamorphosis of the royal iconograph, the appearance of female figures and children, the evolution of nudity and dance in Persian Art and the spreading of floral ornaments from smaller surfaces to whole vessels, in architecture from friezes to covering whole buildings in the Islamic era.

Fryčová, Kateřina ; Havlíček, David (referee) ; Přibil, Rudolf (advisor)
Antarctic ozone hole is so serious environmental problem that has become a subject of study of many scientists and studies. Thanks to them were studied in detail not only the chemical reactions taking place in the stratosphere, but also very specific climatic conditions prevailing over Antarctica, which is why the emergence of the ozone hole was there. The aim of this paper is to summarize the findings and conclusions achieved in these areas of research. The first third is devoted to general description of ozone, its characteristics, division into the tropospheric and stratospheric, chemical reactions in these parts of atmosphere which leads to the formation and dissolution of ozone. Then pay attention to how these natural processes to affect manmade compounds - CFCs and the characteristics of these substances. The next section analyzes the specifics of climate prevailing over Antarctica, how to intervene in the chemical processes in sratosphere, by extension, what their overall share of the damage ozonosphere and of course there are also mentioned chemical reactions leading the biggest ozone depletion. Lastly, are also mentioned legislative measures which man has taken in order to protect the ozone layer, the contemporary situation and outlook and that the implications of a weakening of the ozone layer for...

Obrazová, Martina ; Rakušanová, Marie (advisor) ; Pech, Milan (referee)
ANGLICKÉ RESUMÉ Josef Holub. Life and Work. The theme of this Bachelor Thesis rises from my interest in the landscape painting and in the art of the turn of 19th and 20th centuries. Nowadays, the art historicians dwell on the students of Julius Mařák, but Josef Holub still stays in the shadow of his more famous schoolmates. That is why I have decided to refer to the life and work of this painter. The part of my Bachelor Thesis will be the catalogue of Josef Holub's works in the inheritance of Městské muzeum in Kralupy nad Vltavou. Josef Holub was born in 1870 in Slaný and the local landscape was often theme ( subject ) of his paintings. Due to the financial problems of his family he could not start immediately his studies at Academy of Art in Prague, so first he had been trained as decorator. He entered the Academy of Art not before 1889/90. He has been studying by professor Julius Mařák until 1894, but already in the year 1893 he received the graduating certificate and he stayed at Academy until 1896. In the same year he received Hlávka's scholarship, which he used for his journey to Dalmácie (Dalmatia) and Černá Hora (Black Mountain). During his studies he has been drawing attention to himself at many Prague exhibitions. He has exhibited his works on shows of Krasoumná jednota pro Čechy v Praze, Umělecká...
