Automatic Alignment of Tectogrammatical Trees from Czech-English Parallel Corpus
Mareček, David ; Bojar, Ondřej (referee) ; Žabokrtský, Zdeněk (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is to implement and evaluate a software tool for automatic alignment of Czech and English tectogrammatical trees. The task is to find correspondent nodes between two trees that represent an English sentence and its Czech translation. Great amount of aligned trees acquired from parallel corpora can be used for training transfer models for machine translation systems. It is also useful for linguists in studying translation equivalents in two languages. In this thesis there is also described word alignment annotation process. The manual word alignment was necessary for evaluation of the aligner. The results of our experiments show that shifting the alignment task from the word layer to the tectogrammatical layer both (a) increases the inter-annotator agreement on the task and (b) allows to construct a feature-based algorithm which uses sentence structure and which outperforms the GIZA++ aligner in terms of f-measure on aligned tectogrammatical node pairs. This is probably caused by the fact that tectogrammatical representations of Czech and English sentences are much closer compared to the distance of their surface shapes.

Woman in management
Hronová, Helena ; Neusarová, Jana (referee) ; Šnýdrová, Ivana (advisor)
Simultaneously hold an office in top management and to perform duties in family can be described as superhuman. Women, who accomplished, however exist. They have overcome all gender stereotypes and managed to gain job, who they wanted. Research proves that not many women have succeeded. There are many aspect of effective glass ceiling. They are indirectly forced to choose between career and establishment of family, which leads to their demotivation. There are ways, how can employers support growth in the employment and to co-ordinate working and family live. Some have improved working conditions for women by the way of allowing working for employer at home or by part time jobs. The others established pre-school institutions for their employees. This leads to certain relaxation for women. They can more focus on their job after implementation of these measures.

Study of influence of the solution volume on weight of eye drops
Luknárová, Radka ; Šklubalová, Zdeňka (advisor) ; Mužíková, Jitka (referee)
Study of influence of the solution volume on weight of eye drops Radka Luknárová Summary The work was focused on the influence of three selected factores on weight of eye drops: type of liquid, dispensing angle and volume of liquid. The comercially available dropping system used for the purpose of this investigation was formed by white plastic vial and white plastic dropper tip. The weight of drop of water and comercially product ATROPIN POS® (containins 0,5% atropine sulphate) was measured under two dispensing angles (90ř and 45ř). According to gained results, the weight of drop was significantly lower in the case of Atropine sulphate solution (p < 0,01) then in the case of water. This can be explained by lower surface tension caused by the presence of antimicrobial preservative and surfactant Benzalkonium chloride. The average weight of Atropine sulphate solution was cca 33 mg when dropped under dispensing angle 90ř.When the dispensing angles was lowered to 45ř, the weight of solution was only 29 mg, which is significantly lower value (p < 0,01). On the other hand, no significant differences of weight of drop were found for different filling volumes ranging between 2 - 10 ml. The chosen dispensing system allowed for only little variability of weight of drop under standard conditions ( 90ř, dropping speed...

Neuronavigation in therapy and rehabilitationof schizophrenia using rTMS
Holec, Michal ; Horáček, Jiří (advisor)
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation is a promising therapeutic method which allows non-invasive reduction of schizophrenia symptoms. The main imperfection of this technique had been the impossibility of precise targeting of the rTMS coil at the given cortical area. This can be achieved by using neuroimaging techniques and stereotactic neuronavigation, which enables to target the coil with a high degree of anatomic accuracy. The aim of the study was to investigate the relationship between excitability of motor and visual cortex. Using neuronavigated single-pulse (SP) and paired-pulse (PP) transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS, Magstim Rapid) over right visual cortex, the phosphene thresholds were measured in 11 subjects. Motor threshold (MT) was identified by using standard methodology. In all subjects the phosphenes were induced by both SP (median = 48 %, IQR = 44,5-52,0) and PP (median = 44 %, IQR=39,5- 48,0) TMS. PP phosphene thresholds were lower than SP thresholds (U = 28,0, p ≤ 0,05). We found the positive correlation between MT and SP phosphene threshold (r = 0,597, p ≤ 0,05) but not for MT and PP. The distance of coil position from the brain surface did not correlate with MT, SP nor PP phosphene threshold. Our findings confirm the relationship between MT and phosphene threshold measured by the use of...

Vývoj leishmanií v přenašečích rodu Phlebotomus
Sádlová, Jovana
DISSERTATION ABSTRACT Development of Leishmania parasites in vector sandflies (Diptera: Phlebotominae) Jovana Sádlová Introduction. The work is dealing with two topics: (1) factors affecting development of Leishmania parasites in sandfly vectors and (2) mechanism of Leishmania transmission to the vertebrate host. It includes a review on Leishmania - sandfly - host interactions, four papers published in scientific journals and one manuscript submitted for publication. (1) Within the sandfly gut, Leishmania promastigotes encounter a number of factors which affect their development. They are usually well-adapted to the habitat inside the gut of their natural vectors, but characters of the parasites crucial for the development in the vector have not been elucidated. The main cell-surface molecules of promastigotes, lipophosphoglycan (LPG) and metalloprotease gp63, are known as the most important virulence factors influencing Leishmania interactions with the vertebrate host. However, their role in the vector part of Leishmania life-cycle remains to be clarified. The idea of the work is based on the fact that there are differences in the courses of sandfly infections with various strains and lines of L. major. Therefore, a detailed characterization of individual strains/lines may lead to the recognition of a...

Legal regulation of pension insurance in the Czech Republic and the Polish Republic
Mitrega, Jan ; Zemanová, Jana (advisor) ; Vysokajová, Margerita (referee)
Legal regulation of pension insurance in the Czech Republic and the Polish The goal of this diploma theses is to point out the legal regulation of pension insurance in the Czech republic and the Republic of Poland putting emphasis on regulation of different types of pension. The thesis consists of four chapters. The first chapter analyzes the historical evolution of pensions and the pension insurance. It comprises three periods. The first period ends at the time of the World War I., the second one lasts until the end of the forties of the 20th century and the last one ends in the late 20th century. This chapter outlines the history evolution separately for both of the states. The second chapter is a base of this paper. It examines contemporary legal regulation of pension insurance in the Czech republic. At the beginning of the chapter, there are explained fundamental principles of the Czech pension insurance system and also essential terms. The following part of the second chapter explores legal regulation of allowances including old-age pension, invalidity pension, widow's and widower's pension and orphan's annuity. In the connection with every single mentioned matter, it puts emphasis on the following: the conditions under which a claim to a pension can be acquired, modified or extincted and the...

Economic and Monetary Union
Vašíček, Petr ; Adámková, Vlasta (advisor) ; Hitzgerová, Vlasta (referee)
The object of this essay is focused on the Economic and Monetary Union. The EMU was realised on the basis of Jacques Delors report during the nineties. This report supposed three stages to achieve the specific goals which would lead to the EMU. One of the most important task was the fulfilment of the nominal convergence criteria which allowed the permission to join the euro area. This conditions were and are necessary to smooth monetary union functioning. Nowadays is this theme very actual by reason that the Czech Repulic joined the European Union on 1st May 2004. By this joining the Czech Republic is participating the third stage of the EMU and the euro will be accepted in this country later

The data used for comparison were taken from the statistics of the Czech republic and Slovakia in the year 2007. The main goal of my bachelor thesis is to examine redistribution of state social benefits and other transfers in the Czech republic and Slovakia.

Dynamics of the settlement pattern in the microregion of Zarabag (southern Uzbekistan) on the basis of archaeological sources
Augustinová, Anna ; Stančo, Ladislav (advisor) ; Frank Danielisová, Alžběta (referee)
15 Abstract The following thesis summarizes results of the archaeological research in the microregion of the Zarabag Oasis in the South Uzbekistan. The non-destructive research focused on the collection and evaluation of the archaeological data that allow to reconstruct the settlement dynamics in the oasis during the ages. Previously, there was not archaeological evidence available in the region. The fieldwork in the oasis and its closest surroundings was conducted by way of extensive surface survey (global coverage of the oasis focused on the detection of archaeological evidence), and intensive one (systematic surface survey on a closely defined area). The extensive survey proved to be more suitable for the studied environment in terms of the quality and quantity of the collected archaeological data. One part of the survey consisted in detection of the water sources (springs, surface canals and even remains of the karez systems). The basic units of extensive survey were represented by polygons (gardens, fields, cemeteries, tepas etc.), to which the finds collected during the research were attributed. Their dating in the combination with their spatial distribution allowed then to reconstruct the settlement processes and dynamics in the microregion of the oasis. One part of the research deals also with the...
