Digitization of Old and Middle English dictionaries
Tichý, Ondřej ; Klégr, Aleš (referee) ; Čermák, Jan (advisor)
The aim of the paper is both to outline the methodology of digitizing Old and Middle English dictionaries as well as to describe its successful implementation. It is argued that the digitization of old dictionaries is generally desirable, because it increases accessibility of valuable resources, which may be the only way of presenting their data to a wider audience. The paper first briefly and comprehensively surveys the field of Old & Middle English lexicographical resources, comparing in greater detail the most promising candidates for digitization. Possible and desirable features of a digitized dictionary are then explored and on that basis An Anglo-Saxon Dictionary of J. Bosworth & T. N. Toller is chosen for the digitization project itself. All the phases of the digitization are then described: scanning, character recognition, hand-corrections, data preparation and application development. The current state of the Bosworth-Toller digitization project is explained and presented, while two major suggestions are made for its future development: the re-tagging of its data and the development of a morphological analyser of Old English.

Web 2.0 in nonprofit sector
Lacey, Věra ; Pospíšilová, Tereza (advisor) ; Skovajsa, Marek (referee)
This work describes the use by Czech NGO1s of "Web 2.0", and attempts to identify relevant issues involved in its implementation. Many issues relating to Web 2.0 implementation (e.g.motivation, context, costs, impact) have been linked to various organisational theories. A model of implementation based solely upon these theories was initially devised, and subsequently modified to reflect the reality of the situation in NGOs, following the completion of research based upon phone interviews. The most frequently used applications were found to be discussion forums and chatrooms. These were primarily implemented to overcome physical distance and engage with youth audiences. They were also usually intended to improve external communication, although they have been found often to miss this purpose and not fulfil original expectations - often due to poor quality of content, as opposed to problems of content control and security, as were often anticipated The impact of Web 2.0 has as yet been largely unfelt by Czech NGOs. Whilst organisations may feel it desirable to participace in all technological advances, poorly conceived or ad-hoc implementations have been shown to provide little or no benefit. However, well-planned approaches that ensure appropriate deployment for the right target audience can provide huge...

Hrabák, Jiří ; Jančák, Vít (advisor) ; Spišiak, Peter (referee) ; Novotná, Marie (referee)
8 Abstract The dissertation deals with the concepts of multifunctional agriculture in the context of transformations of Czech agriculture in the post-communist era. In general, the study mainly wanted to discuss the concepts of multifunctional agriculture, known for over three decades, especially from the Anglo-Saxon environment, and to analyse the development of Czech agriculture as well as application of multifunctional agriculture especially in the period after Czechia's joining the European Union, including the perception of multifunctional activities by farmers. The initial part of the study discusses the concepts of multifunctional agriculture as non- commodity production (OECD 2001) and an integral part of rural development (Van der Ploeg, Roep 2003) on the one hand and of agricultural multifunctionality (Wilson 2007), on the other. The empirical part of the work was based on a quantitative assessment of regional differentiation of multifunctional agriculture in Czechia, the territorial concentration of multifunctional activities and dependence between the variables that influence its implementation. The evaluation of the perception of multifunctional activities by farmers has resulted from a field survey, or interviews conducted with farmers in three areas of interest of various types (municipality...

Correspondence of bar and plate model is studied. Optimal amplitude is suggested. Simple beam loaded with continuous line loading is taken as an example.
