Geography teaching: conditions for fieldwork implementation and its level of employment at grammar schools in Decin county
Zubalíková, Karolína ; Řezníčková, Dana (referee) ; Chromý, Pavel (advisor)
The general aim of this thesis is to evaluate the conditions for fieldwork implementation and its level of employment in a given region. This aim is followed in three areas: 1) Definition of framework for fieldwork in strategic documents. 2) Analysis of fieldwork employment in a given region. 3) Analysis of teachers' approaches towards fieldwork. For the purpose of this thesis four grammar schools located within the Decin county were observed. The present situation pertaining to the employment of fieldwork was mapped in order to lay the foundation for an improvement of teaching techniques in geography. The issue of fieldwork is approached from different points of view: an institutional perspective (i.e. opportunities of fieldwork as defined in curricular documents, a subjective perspective based on the experience of teachers within the Decin county (i.e. empirical investigation).

Project Reconstruction of the State - A Case Study of Cooperation Between Anti-corruption Nonprofit Organisations in the Czech Republic
Janoušek, Jan ; Navrátil, Jiří (advisor) ; Pospíšilová, Tereza (referee)
This diploma thesis aims to identify collaboration factors within a joint NGO project called Reconstruction of the State. The goal is to find out the factors that led to the establishment of this joint project as perceived by representatives of the cooperating organizations. Another objective is to discover a possible pattern of collaboration factors within this project. The theoretical part introduces the main theories of interorganizational cooperation and the conceptualization of collaboration factors that have been described in these theories. The conceptualization of the collaboration factors forms the basis of a questionnaire issued to the NGOs' representatives. The results of the survey are used as input in a hierarchical cluster analysis that represents the key part of the empirical part of this thesis. The results of the cluster analysis are thus derived from the responses given by representatives of the 13 NGOs involved in the Reconstruction of the State project and they identify the key collaboration factors as well as their configuration. The final section presents and further interprets the findings resulting from the cluster analysis within the chosen theoretical framework. Key words: collaboration factors, organizational resources, NGOs, interorganizational collaboration, cluster analysis

Morphological Findings in Hanging Deaths
Hejna, Petr ; Hottmar, Petr (advisor) ; Hirt, Miroslav (referee) ; Klír, Přemysl (referee)
Hanging is a form of ligature strangulation in which the force applied to the neck derives from the gravitational drag of the weight of the body. The furrow on the neck is mainly a postmortem phenomenon. To establish the intravital hanging, any inner neck structure injury indicating ligature mark intravitality is to be identified. The aim of this prospective autopsy study was to determine frequency of inner neck structure injuries in hanging with regard to the point of the ligature knot and the other victims' characteristics (body suspension, gender, age, weight). We tried to identify the mechanism of injury for the neck structures and determine, according to the obtained results, a possible specific or most characteristic inner neck injury in regard to the ligature knot location. This study also aimed to determine the frequency of Simon's bleedings in the lumbar region of the spinal column in cases of hanging. The authors prospectively studied 178 consecutive cases of hanging deaths. Fracture of throat skeleton was detected in 128 cases of hanging (72%). The hyoid bone fractures were indentified in 56 cases of hanging (31,5%). Horn thyroid cartilage fractures were found in 101 cases of hanging (56,8%). The occurrance of fractures of throat skeleton was independent of gender, age, weight and...

Asset pricing models
Tuček, Jan ; Pošta, Vít (advisor) ; Scholleová, Hana (referee)
Diploma thesis deals with models of asset pricing. We investigated in detail three classical models: binomial, Black-Scholes and Merton model. These models are widely used to date, although they were first published a few decades ago. It is because they are relatively simple and easy-to-use. The models were originally derived for option pricing however they can be used for the wide range of financial instruments. The theoretical part of the thesis includes an introduction to options and models derivation. The practical part consists of the sensitivity analyst and empirical test of the models. S&P 500 index options data were used for this purpose. The result is that Merton model seems to be the most accurate.

Návrh metody výběru nejvhodnější lokality pro logistický objekt
Přibyl, Martin
The thesis deals with the method layout of choosing the most suitable locality for a logistical entity. Regarding the difficulties of multicriterion decison process, when quantitative and qualitative criterions enter to the decision-making, and regarding the fact, that for optimalization of quantitative criterions exist many well accessible instruments, the aim of this thesis is the layout of a new model, which will evaluate only qualitative criterions in chosen localities. Submitted model is based on the expert system's principle and it compile through statistical enquiry empirical knowledge of more than 110 experts -- logistical managers, who evaluated localities for logistical entities during their praxis. Integral part of an expert system, knowledge base, contains 57 characteristics divided into six groups, which enable evaluation of the locality appropriateness for the logistical entity. Consequently, the expert system is capable to compare particular variants and to vizualize the classification. The proposed method represents a subsidiary deciding instrument while solving strategic problems in company development and it facilitates objective decision-making about suitable location of logistical entity. In the thesis a case study is processed. This case study assesses 3 localities, where centres of University forest enterprise Křtiny are situated.

Means of subsistence of Roma women from socially excluded locations in Liberec
Šolková, Barbora ; Šiklová, Jiřina (advisor) ; Víšek, Petr (referee)
The thesis deals with the issue of social exclusion and unemployment in general including its causes and consequences in relation to Roma women. The aim of the thesis is to search for answers to the key question which strategies do Roma women utilise in socially excluded locations in order to obtain means for their subsistence and what are the roots of these strategies. The introductory part deals with theoretical background of the area - i.e. the concept of social exclusion, unemployment, the position of Roma people in the Czech society and their subsistence strategies. The empirical part presents the results of qualitative research as well as the interpretation of these results. It analyses the subsistence strategies of Roma women and points out certain shortcomings in their employment, access to illicit employment and dependence on social benefits.

Redrawing of Balkan political map during 1817-1914 period
Civa, Sezer ; Hnízdo, Bořivoj (advisor) ; Jirsová, Pavlína (referee)
I am going to argue that was there a cause an effect relation between collapse of Ottomans and reformation processes in Ottoman public administrative bodies whose actually resulted the redrawing of Balkan political map as the main product? Definition of the key factors of Ottoman's public and social structures are essential to understand its nature. Moreover steps which have taken towards the reformation those have all their characteristics. Modernity as a concept derived from superiority of European powers which made reformation process necessary in Ottoman Empire from military to all modern needs of society through the 19th century. Therefore timing of introduction of new rights could be helpful to evaluate my subject correctly, if they were voluntary or forced to implement. The connection between recent political, economic events on Western Europe and modernization attempts within the Ottoman Empire would illuminate the connection the appearance of Balkan nation states on Balkan political map. I am going to support my argument with following the time line and giving overall informations. The phenomenon I am going to deal with is mainly modernization and reformation process of Ottomans whereby the Ottoman's institutional, bureaucratic and military structures became the main concerns. The central focus and...

Nonparametric estimations in survival analysis
Svoboda, Martin ; Malá, Ivana (advisor) ; Tomášek, Ladislav (referee)
This work introduces nonparametric models which are used in time to event data analysis. It is focused on applying these methods in medicine where it is called survival analysis. The basic techniques and problems, which can appear in survival analysis, are presented and explained here. The Kaplan -- Meier estimator of survival function is discussed in the main part. This is the most frequented method used for estimating the survival function in patients who have undergone a specific treatment. The Kaplan -- Meier estimator is also a common device in the statistical packets. In addition to estimation of survival function, the estimation of hazard function and cumulative hazard function is presented. The hazard function shows the intensity of an individual experiencing the particular event in a short time period. Special problems occur when analyzing time to event data. A distinctive feature, often present in such data, is known as censoring. That is the situation when the individual does not experience the event of interest at the time of study. The thesis covers also an empiric part, where the results of an analysis of patients with the larynx carcinoma diagnosis are shown. These patients were treated in a hospital located in České Budějovice. This analysis is based on a theory presented in the previous chapters.

Efficiency of Regulation on Spanish Housing Market
Hejlová, Hana ; Hlaváček, Michal (advisor) ; Doležel, Pavel (referee)
Covering reciprocal and mutually reinforcing relations between business, housing and credit cycles, the thesis assesses the Spanish housing market in its wider circumstances. With use of several conceptual notes on demand for housing, dynamic path of the house prices in Spain may be explained based on the difference in how these structural components react on changes in financial and macroeconomic environment. As a result of controlling for match of demand and supply in both timely and spatial manner empirically, expectations were included to explain the subsequent volume of housing traded on the market and simple microeconomic decision making model taking into account taxes was derived to assess the role favourable incentives might have played on fuelling the house price cycle in Spain. Next, existence of the reciprocal relations suggested by the theory discussed was confirmed empirically only during the house price upturn and asymmetry in speed of downward adjustment was found in the opposite case, pointing out at the redistribution effect abrupt changes in house prices have in time. The results derived finally allowed to assess possibilities of better employment of anti cyclical regulatory tools towards eliminating mutually enforcing powers between the cycles and avoiding both financial and...
