Social environment and local communities: city, suburb , countryside
Špačková, Petra ; Ouředníček, Martin (advisor) ; Kostelecký, Tomáš (referee) ; Ptáček, Pavel (referee)
Since the 19th century, the processes of modernization, industrialization and urbanization have fundamentally impacted the spatial organization and the actual contents of social ties. In particular, the role of place of residence in everyday life has significantly changed. Compared to the past, the spatial distance is less relevant for maintenance of interpersonal ties and non-local social relations are of growing importance. This process has been recently enhanced by development of communication technologies and the Internet in particular. The Internet has transferred many social ties into virtual communities without any spatial reference. The dissertation deals with the consequences of the above indicated changes for the social environments in urban, suburban and rural localities and it is built on the geographic perspective of social network research. The theoretical framework of the research is based on combination of the concepts of social environment and the concept of local community. Further, the conceptualization of the study of local social environment is presented. In addition, the factors undermining the differentiated social environment and the character of community ties in various types of geographical contexts are discussed. The attention is also paid to the importance of population...

Krenciv, Angelika ; Pospíšil, Ctirad Václav (advisor) ; Pelc, Bogdan (referee)
Anotace: The point (goal) of this work was to analyze author's Christology and Soteriology of delivering the doctrine of Church about Jesus Christ, who is He and what His earth-life stands for us, to common people who lived in totalitarian regime in the period of communism. The true information about the situation in the country and in the world, mostly about the course of events in the Church in general and in the Czech particular Church (primarily about the II. Vatican council) was denied to all people. Churchgoers were threatened and discriminated. Not all people, who father Karel talked to on the airwaves, were churchgoers. This particular aspect author had to include too.

The Bachelor thesis concerns communication with patients having the artificial pulmonary ventilation. The theoretical part is dedicated to problems in the field of communication and artificial pulmonary ventilation. However, its main knowledge domain is mapping the possibilities of different communication methods and techniques with focus on people that are unable to communicate in a usual way. The empirical part of the study discovers awareness and skills in the field of communication among nurses who work with these patients. As a part of my thesis there are also two interviews with patients who communicate untraditionally.

Interpretative strategies for the films with a low level of narration
Slováková, Andrea ; Kaňuch, Martin (referee) ; Hanáková, Petra (advisor)
Diploma thesis Interpretative strategies for films with a low level of narration have analyzed perception of mainly experimental films that are non-narrative or have a weak narration. Its goals were to articulate model of this perception and describe the main interpretative strategies. For defining a range of films for the research, firstly it is necessary to define key terms. Using theoretical knowledge and main characteristics of narrative as can be found in the works of the notable film theoreticians, especially Edward Branigan, David Bordwell, Carl Plantinga, Murray Smith, Seymour Chatman or Torben Grodal, I formulated definition of narrative film: The main feature of narrative film is continuity and time anchor (especially in relation to other events), organization of data that need to be related to each other in a recognizable way, which is based on causality. Active agents (living beings or other agents) have to be necessarily present and their actions include intentions and development towards the goal. The ordering of a narrative whole often includes beginning, middle and end, that together create a thematically and mostly (but not necessarily) also stylistically coherent unit. The definition of non-narrative film results from the notes excerpted from those texts of narratologists who take into...

Adolf Ludvík Krejčík. Edition of memories
Kuprová, Renata ; Kahuda, Jan (referee) ; Dobeš, Jan (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to fully retrieve the first part of the manuscript memoires of noted Czech archivist and historian PhDr. Adolf Ludvík Krejčík (1877 - 1958). The manuscript was preserved as a part of his personal papers, which is now located in the National Archive of Czech Republic in Prague. Even though the title of the first part is "From the Birth until 1948" the author describes events only up to the beginning of the 20-th century. The author narrates his childhood and juvenile age, his study at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Charles Univresity in Prague and at the prestigeous Institut für österreichische Geschichtsforschung in Vienna, his scientific work at the Austrian Historical Institute in Rome and his activity in the Schwarzenberg Archive in Třeboň and Moravian Land Archive in Brno. While writing his memoires, Krejčík regrettably did not cover the period during which he founded the Czechoslovak State Agricultural Archive, where he served as its first director. In this period was Krejčík counted amongst the most prominent Czech archivists. Far from being centered around his scientific activities, the memoires cover broad area of authors cultural interests (especially music and theatre) and the circumstances of everyday life, as well as other subjects. The editional work was...

The Knowledge of the Population in South Bohemia about Consumer´s Protection with Respect to the Food Safety.
VLÁŠKOVÁ, Alena
The main objective of this thesis is to analyse a phenomenon of consumer´s protection with respect to the food safety. I have chosen mentioned issue due to its high topicality which could be proved by several medial cases. On the other hand, the constant public discussions of this issue lead to the fact that Czech consumers are becoming to be more self-confident and not afraid to assert their rights although this approach had been unusual recently. This thesis has ambitions to improve awareness of consumer´s protection as well as the food safety. For practical part of this thesis, I have formulated 4 basic hypotheses whose validity have been subsequently verifying through quantitative method, namely by an anonymous questionnaire survey performed in four cities situated in South Bohemia - in Písek, Strakonice, Tábor and České Budějovice. The hypotheses were in following versions: 1.The respondents are not satisfied with current situation in the area of consumer´s protection, 2.The respondents are convinced of the safety of Czech food, 3.The respondents think that the food safety has been worsening after the entrance of Czech Republic to the EU, 4.The respondents believe that imported food can threaten their health. My research has confirmed hypotheses nr. 1 and 2. On the other side, hypotheses nr. 3 and 4 have been rejected. This thesis may be further used for educational purposes regarding customer deeper awareness within a public discussion about this issue.

Kosková, Jitka ; Janská, Eva (advisor) ; Freidingerová, Tereza (referee)
The aim of the work are the Czech-Vietnamese relations in the district Prague-Libus. These relationships are examined within the residential integration. This work analyses the impact of the local marketplace Sapa on the residential situation and tries to confirm or refuse claims about the segregation Vietnamese community in this district. The first part focuses on the Vietnamese community in general. This part also describes the basic aspects and factors that may affect residential segregation. It contains a comparison of the concentration rates of the Vietnamese community in the various districts of Prague as well. Second part is based on qualitative and quantitative research methods. Using the direct interview to try to look closer to local residents on the issue and the methods of observation to try to analyze the rate of concentration in selected areas of the district. Based on available informations and my own research we can say that the district Prague-Libuš is more an economic enclave. Otherwise, the high concentration of Vietnamese community has an influence on the present situation in this district, but the residential inter-ethnic relations are not being affected meanwhile by this high concentration. Key words: residential segregation, Vietnamese, discrict Prague-Libus, marketplace Sapa

Contemporary Czech polemic discourse on dontroversy over Milan Kundera
Orel, Ivan ; Lütke Notarp, Ulrike (referee) ; Kraus, Jiří (advisor)
My thesis "Contemporary Czech Polemic Discourse Shown on Controversy over Milan Kundera" deals with media debate triggered by an article published in the Respekt magazine. The article claimed that Milan Kundera reported an unknown person dwelling at a student dormitory to the police. The person was arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment as a Western intelligence agent. He spent 14 years in prison. The thesis focuses on texts that were published in Czech media from 13 October 2008 to 31 October 2008. Source texts were categorized into three corpuses. Corpus A includes texts that bring information on Milan Kundera - these texts are not explicitly oriented at supporting argumentation either in favour of or against Kundera. Corpus B contains texts defending Kundera. And corpus C analyzes texts that respond critically to corpus B texts. Based on results of such analyses, discourse participants were categorized and their types were defined, assessing phenomena appearing during the discourse and properties of selected texts of the discourse contained in corpuses A, B and C that were subject to qualitative assessment.

South Bohemian inhabitants opinion of activity of other bodies of Integrated Rescue Systems
DUŠKOVÁ, Ilona
The aim of this study was to identify and evaluate the opinion of South Bohemian region inhabitants on activities of the Integrated Rescue System (IRS) other emergency services in rescue and relief work in emergency situations and find out the resulting level of inhabitants safety. The whole study was designed to analyze the data collected by questionnaire survey and to obtain relevant information about the opinion of the South Bohemian region inhabitants on the work of the Army of the Czech Republic, the Czech Red Cross and the municipal police within IRS. A questionnaire survey seemed to be the best way how to get relevant information. The pilot study helped to identify the three other emergency services of IRS in the opinion of the inhabitants. At a subsequent questionnaire survey the research sample was 50 respondents from each of seven South Bohemian districts, a total of 350 respondents from districts České Budějovice, Český Krumlov, Jindřichův Hradec, Písek, Prachatice, Strakonice and Tábor. The results of this research show that three quarters of respondents do not exactly know the term "other emergency services of IRS", despite the fact that some of the respondents have personal experience with the intervention of some other emergency services of IRS during an emergency situation. So it can be concluded that the South Bohemian region inhabitants have more awareness of the IRS as a whole, but they are no longer sufficiently familiar with its structure. To increase the level of knowledge about the structure of the IRS?s components I recommend to include more detailed information about this topic in the primary school curriculum. It also proposes to increase public awareness about IRS structure through media campaigns. Activities of the Army of the Czech Republic within IRS were judged as very helpful and on quite sufficient level. Individuals who have had personal experience with - 5 - the intervention of soldiers such as rescue, relief work and evacuation, evaluate their help as efficient and very professional. The personal experience with the help of the Czech Red Cross in emergency situations (especially floods) has one quarter of respondents. Red Cross Humanitarian units helped in these cases mainly with the provision of emergency accommodation and catering. Czech Red Cross was also focused on the collecting and distributing of humanitarian aid. Almost 86% of respondents judged these activities as very professional and efficient. Respondents are not convinced about sufficiently help of municipal police in the case of emergency situation. Some of them rate it as rather weak. Likewise, they considered that each municipal police in South Bohemian region have some reserves in facilities such as car park. However, 41% of respondents agree that the quality of the activities of this emergency service is increasing in the last few years. My recommendation in this case refers to an increase in the number of service cars. Based on the obtained data, the ranking of other emergency services of IRS was compiled according to their significance in respondents? opinion. On the first three positions are these emergency service - Army of the Czech Republic, municipal police, Czech Red Cross. Summary of the obtained information indicates a positive finding that the three analyzed other emergency services of IRS are very helpful in protection of health, life and property of the inhabitants of South Bohemian region within the IRS activities. However, I believe that my recommendations presented in this study may contribute to further improving the performance of the three analyzed emergency services so that their perception of the South Bohemian region inhabitants can achieve an even higher level in the future.
