Caspian Gas Supplies: An Oportunity of EU Energy Diversification?
Temirbulatova, Diana ; Aslan, Emil (advisor) ; Ditrych, Ondřej (referee)
Today, energy security is a thorny issue for the European Union: levels of energy consumption are growing rapidly, while indigenous reserves are diminishing. The European Union seeks to diversify its energy suppliers, because overdependence on single supplier can undermine its energy security. Russia, the major supplier of gas to the EU, has demonstrated itself as unreliable energy supplier as a result of 2006 and 2009 disruptions. The Caspian region is seen as one of the options of gas supply diversification, and therefore the EU is making efforts to create pipeline route to supply Caspian gas bypassing Russia. Some European politicians agree that creation of such pipeline route could help Europe to lower dependence its dependence on gas supplies from Russia, and enhence European energy security. According to plan, the route should consist of three pipelines: TCGP, South Caucasus pipeline and Nabucco. The present research aims to define, whether the idea of Caspian gas supplies to the EU could contribute to European energy security and EU energy diversification. Given the confusion between those who predict that successful implementation of TCGP and Nabucco projects would guarantee better energy security for Europe and those who has doubts that construction of an energy bridge over the Caspian Sea can ever...

The attitude of the expert and the lay public towards institut of alternative punishments.
TURKOVÁ, Petra
Globally, the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries has been a period of major reforms in criminal law which are connected with the effort to find new methods to deal with crime and to replace or at least complement some inflexible procedures in administration of criminal cases. More and more attention is being paid to alternative proceedings before the court and alternative punishments in criminal cases. The Czech Republic has not fallen behind in the developments. My work seeks to map the options of alternative punishments, with a focus on community service. My work also deals with the legal framework for punishments in form of community service in selected countries. I will also mention the institute of Probation and Mediation Service. The work also points to the prepared amendment to the Criminal Code in connection with community service punishments. The research in my work is divided into two parts. The first part is a quantitative survey of opinions of the general public and the other part is a qualitative survey of opinions of professionals, such as judges, policemen and officers of the Probation and Mediation Service. The main objective of the work is to learn about the general public attitudes to and awareness of application and implementation of alternative punishments. I tried to find out which punishments would be preferred by the general public. Another objective of this work has been to survey opinions of professionals in respect to application and implementation of alternative punishments. In the first survey three of my hypotheses have been confirmed and two have been disconfirmed. Based on results of the secod part of the survey I have devised three hypotheses. The results of my work have shown that although the general public has a certain level of awareness of the issue, the knowledge is very superficial. The general public has demonstrated a significant degree of tolerance and benevolence to persons with alternative punishments. Professionals mostly approve the existing legal framework for the alternative punishments. They find the definition of these punishments in the Criminal Code adequate and they believe that alternative punishments have been used sufficiently. The work will serve as a general overview of the issue.

Options of continual glycemia monitoring in critically ill patients and treatment of hyperglycemia with the use of insulin algorithms
Bláha, Jan ; Haluzík, Martin (advisor) ; Matějovič, Martin (referee) ; Vaněk, Tomáš (referee)
Glycaemia control is nowadays one of the most discussed topics in intensive care. The landmark Leuven study, which has brought hyperglycaemia in intensive care to the centre of interest, demonstrated that tight glycaemia control (TGC) targeted to maintain euglycaemia between 4.4 to 6.1 mmol/l reduced mortality and frequency of organ complications associated with critical illness. Although this study was published eight years ago, there is still no general agreement about approach to tight glycaemia control in critically ill patients. Doubts have been raised about both the universality of intensive glycaemia control, and especially its safety in terms of potential damage to patients by episodes of hypoglycaemia. Our studies did not focus on questions of importance or risk of TGC, but we concentrated on key point of hole TGC concept - on glycaemia control in critically ill patients itself. The aims of our studies were the research of subcutaneous adipose tissue as an alternative-site for continuous glucose measurements in ICU patients, and comparison and development of insulin algorithms for hyperglycaemia treatment and normoglycaemia management. We demonstrated good correlation between arterial and interstitial subcutaneous glucose concentrations in critically ill patients undergoing deep hypothermia. We...

Essential tools for developing web applications
Ševčík, Petr ; Pinkas, Otakar (advisor) ; Chudán, David (referee)
This bachelor thesis is devoted to problems of creating web applications using XML files for data storing. The main mission of thesis is to demonstrate XML language usage in these applications and to introduce a reader with another important languages for development of these applications. This thesis is trying to offer a complex view of this problem. Because success of application largely relies on the fact how easily the applacation can be found by potential users of the web, the thesis describes how can be web sites indexed by search engines. There are two main parts of this bachelor thesis: teoretical and practical. The first chapter describes HTML language with accent on his features that can be used for cooperation with web applications. The second chapter is devoted to XML markup language. Third chapter is about Dublin Core metadata standard which can be used with web applications to ease searching of electronical sources. The fourth chapter describes indexing of web pages by search engines and the following fifth chapter describes advanced searching with search engine Google, that can be used for detection if search engine optimization was successfull and if web page is findable. The sixth chapter dedicated to practical part of this thesis. This part describes developed web application programmed in PHP language. This application works with XML file via DOM and SimpleXML interfaces. Interfaces are compared to each other. This chapter also offer some guides describing how to implement some usefull functions in web application.

Molecular biological detection of viral and bacterial pathogens and their relationship
Kašpírková, Jana ; Hes, Ondřej (advisor) ; Daum, Ondřej (referee) ; Boudová, Ludmila (referee) ; Putzová, Martina (referee)
1 We report a case of an eccrine syringofibroadenoma (ESFA) associated with well- differentiated squamous cell carcinoma. The patient was an 85-year-old man, who had a 2.5x2.5-cm, brown-colored ulcerated nodule, with a fragile, flesh-colored bleeding surface located beyond the metacarpophalangeal joint of the second finger of his left hand. Histopathologically, there were areas of a well-differentiated squamous cell carcinoma, alternating with the typical area of ESFA characterized by anastomosing cords, strands, and columns of epithelial cells extending from the crusted epidermis into a thickened, edematous, myxoid vascular-rich dermis. Immunohistochemically, the areas with dysplastic epithelium were positive for p16, whereas the benign ESFA parts tested negative. Human papillomavirus was detected in the lesional tissue by polymerase chain reaction, and the subsequent sequencing analysis demonstrated that the virus was close to human papillomavirus type 107. 2 The authors report a case of basaloid carcinoma involving the anus and rectum of a 57-year- old woman. Microscopically, the tumor showed unusual morphologic features strongly resembling a spiradenocylindroma because it consisted, in most parts, of basaloid cell nodules arranged in a jigsaw-puzzle fashion containing or surrounded by eosinophilic basal...

Words versus music: analysis of Samuel Beckett's "Words and Music", "Cascando" and "Rockbaby"
Fořtová, Linda ; Wallace, Clare (referee) ; Pilný, Ondřej (advisor)
It was my endeavour to demonstrate the manifold capacities of music with (or emanating from) a text. Indeed, I have proved that music is able to express what words cannot, and that there are many links between the verbal language and that of music, and thus both can be used in an interplay as it can be perceived in Cascando where Voice merges with Music in harmony and their arrangement constitutes a fugue; or both elements can challenge each other in an effort to ascertain which of them should be taken as superior to the other, as in Words and Music; or, even, that language freed of the customary syntactic chains is able to produce rhytmical patterns in accordance to what the words describe, as it is in Rockaby.

Business Activity Monitoring
Frühauf, Michal ; Řepa, Václav (advisor) ; Pálka, Jan (referee)
Main focus of the thesis lies in the corporate management decision support deploying and using IT / ICT. Specific technology described is Business Activity Monitoring. The contribution of the work lies primarily in two planes. The first plane is to create as far as the most comprehensive view of the BAM. The findings are collected from different directions and areas. The first direction of research is focused on the development of Business Intelligence and description of BAM as a trend of BI, including the stages of development and projections into the future. The second direction focuses primarily on a detailed circumscribe of BAM. Its definition, deployment assumptions, basic models, the way how business can benefit from BAM usage. The third guideline shows the classification of BAM surrounded by the other / similar technologies and business solutions -- BI and BSM, and the search key differences. The second level of the work is to support the AML implementation in a specific environment of banks using BAM. This is a practical demonstration of the possibility of using BAM in practice. Basic design solution lies in the analysis of risks arising from the law and the current state of the solution. By mapping of banking processes and searching for points of risk it is then possible to deploy these risks BAM tools for their management. Motion of support lies mainly in conceptual terms.

Non-Catholics in the domaine of Trebic in the 17th and 18th century
Honč, Petr ; Petráček, Tomáš (referee) ; Čechura, Jaroslav (advisor)
This research is primarily focused on the non-Catholic population in the domain of Trebic in the 17th and 18th century. A brief summary of the previous religious development in the above mentioned domain during the Reformation period and Thirty Years' War enables us to prove, that falling apart of the confessional identity had already been registered before the beginning of systematic recatholisation. Until then, the domain of Trebic had been a favourite refuge for the refugees from Bohemia. The description of the process of recatholisation in the town of Třebíč and villages of its domain is one of the key topics of this research. Another focus of this work is to demonstrate the contribution of the parish network in the frame of the Třebic's deanship, which was a key success factor for the recatholisation process. A second main topic, and a core issue of this work, is the situation in the domain after the October 1781, when Joseph II. put into effect the Edict of Tolerance. The emphasis is put on the adhesion of non-Catholics to one of the Protestant confessions tolerated by the State and on the challenges emerged as a follow-up. A rupture between Protestants regarding the choice between the Augsburg and Helvetic Confession almost ended hopes for their own congregation.
