Commands and comments: tha language of "The nine chapters on the mathematical art" and its commentaries
Hudeček, Jiří ; Maršálek, Jakub (referee) ; Sehnal, David (advisor)
Předmětem této práce je jazyk klasické čínské matematiky, konkrétně jejího stěžejního anonymního díla "Matematika v Devíti kapitolách" a dvou nejdůležitějších komentářů k němu.

Comparison of european banks profitability
Šebor, Jan ; Dvořák, Petr (advisor) ; Tuček, Miroslav (referee)
The aim of this paper is to determine, whether the conclusions reached by some authors about the influence of the development of the financial system, bank size and taxation on bank profitability are also applicable to the European banking sector. This thesis is divided into 4 thematic parts. The first part tries to summarize the recent events that have had influence on the European banking sector as well as on the whole world and sum up their possible impact on bank profitability. A lot of attention is paid to the events of 2007 and 2008. The second and third subsection describes the basic theory, on which the thesis is build on. The balance and income statement is analysed in short as well. Further, an insight into the profitability ratios is given, because the comparison of these ratios is the centre of this paper. The forth, methodological, subsection and the fifth as well are focusing on the process contiguous our comparison. The data selection process and the influences on it are described in this section. The section also includes the fundamental base and hypotheses. The profitability comparison can be found in the next three subsections. The banks are not looked at as individual institutions, but there are concentrated into bigger units, based on country of residence and size. The last section deals with the influence of taxation on bank's profitability. The conclusion is dedicated to a summary of all the findings that were discovered during the previous sections.

Assessment of devices used by the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic in case of radiation emergency.
LOŠKOVÁ, Romana
This Thesis deals with the option of employing the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic (ACR) when a radiation emergency is imminent. Primarily, it focuses on evaluation of selected devices designed for radiation reconnaissance; summarising of radiation protection related legislation; and study of approved procedures. At its beginning, this Thesis tracks the origin of early detection systems at the territory of the then Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and their gradual evolution into the the existing form. From the radiation emergency point of view, this nationwide system represents a priceless help for monitoring of radioactive contamination dispersion and for warning. The following part sums up basic information on what is an ionizing radiation, how it comes into being and which basic quantities describe it. This part also contains basic type distinction, description of consequences for human organism and the most significant interactions of sources of ionizing radiation that could be misused with the most probability. This specific topic is introduced here because of the subsequent part of this Thesis being named Radiological Dispersion Device, or the dirty bomb. The significant part of this Thesis is the summary and classification of related legislation. The first documents referred to are two international standards. Publication 103 the 2007 Recommendations of the International Commission on Radiological Protection is dealing, inter alia, with dosing limits determining dose levels in planned exposure situations and reference levels used for emergency exposure situations and existing exposure situations. Publication 96 Protecting People against Radiation Exposure in the Event of a Radiological Attack is more substantial for this Thesis since it partly copes with the protection of front-line units including Integrated Rescue System (IRS) components and it specifies maximum exposure time for intervening personnel. Based on the IRS Catalogue of Typical Activities (STC 01/IZS), Materialised and Verified Use of a Radiological Weapon, the ACR would be one of the intervening components in such an attack. This Thesis analyses in detail individual ACR procedures starting with activities before employment, through threat prevention, event reaction to post-event activities like decontamination followed by monitoring of personnel contamination and their health condition. The practical part deals mainly with one of the Thesis´s goals which was evaluation of selected dosimetric devices used by the military for radiation reconnaissance. For this purpose, the quantitative research processing their main parameters was applied. The analysis within a selected sample was used for comparing and the sumary index IVi then showed the status of device applicability for contemporary use in radiation emergency. The pre-defined goals of this Thesis have been met implementing the above methods. The comparison of individual devices and their evaluation in respect to their applicability in joint radiation emergency operation with other IRS components has been carried out via discussion. It has been found out that some of the devices are obsolete and do not comply with the requirements for this job. This fact reflects the reality that these devices were designed in the period of a potential nuclear war. This corresponds with their robust structure and high level of sensitivity which is not desirable for a radiation emergency. The most severe problem, however, seems to be the fact that some devices measure quantities in old, no more used, units which could cause misinterpretation. On the other hand, other devices are modern, sensitive at low levels of dose input and offer real-time information on a well organised LCD display. To answer the question of ACR´s readiness to intervene in a radiation emergency one has to say that the ACR is ready to meet its rescue and consequence management tasks at a satisfactory level.

Methodology of Testing Web Applications
Šplíchalová, Marcela ; Buchalcevová, Alena (advisor) ; Hostomský, Stanislav (referee)
The principle aim of this thesis is to create an unified methodical framework for a smaller Software Testing Department. Furthermore, its aim is to define and describe an important element of testing - the software mistake, define the way of its reporting and finally with the view of it to specify the troubleshooting areas of web applications. The last aim is to find a solution of how to publish this methodology. The aims of this thesis were reached by studying available theoretical findings and applications of principles that are known from notorious and approved methodologies which complexly focus on the software development. These principles were confronted with author's practical experience. Based on these processes, the methodology described above has been originated The contribution of the thesis is in the inner structure of the methodology, summarization of the most important information, application of practical personal experiences and adapting some elements of the methodology according to its usage in a small team. Other strong points are the proposals and recommendations of how to improve the situation on the testing department of a particular company, how to publish the methodology and how to maintain it in the future. The thesis is composed of three main parts. In the first chapter, the essential characteristics of testing, models of the life cycle of software development, sorts and levels of tests are given. The second chapter is the crucial part of the thesis. It describes the whole methodology - the main workflow and its details (processes), activities made during these processes, roles occurring in the methodology and the description of its responsibility (for activities and artefacts), artefacts made on the testing department, full description of mistake and its reporting and finally the summary of mistakes appearing in the web applications environment. The last chapter attends to the way of putting the methodology into operation - technical coverage of particular parts of the methodology in the present time, suggestion of improvement the testing in the future and possibilities of the publication of the methodology.

Leiden mutation, its signification and methods of examination
FIALOVÁ, Kateřina
The subject of this thesis is Leiden mutation, its signification and methods of examination. This work deals with frequency of occurrence F V Leiden mutation in samples of examinants in the centre of laboratory medicine BioLab, spol. s. r. o., in Klatovy. Thrombophilia (hypercoagulation) is a genetic or acquired failure of hemostatic mechanistic system, which is connected with increased risk of the occurrence of thrombosis. The most important and the most frequent effect of thrombophilia is the venous thromboembolism. This concept means both deep venous thrombosis and/or pulmonary embolism and their development is always caused by several factors which are genetic or acquired. Mutation of factor V was described in 1993 as the resistance against activated protein (so called APC-resistance). It occurs most commonly as a genetic thrombophilia of white race where it can be found in 40% of patients with diagnosed thromboembolism. Leiden mutation in a gene for factor V is the most frequent predisposition for thrombosis. The risk of development of venous thromboembolism differs according as the fact if it is a heterozygotic or homozygotic carrier. Heterozygotic individuals are 7 times more riskly as for the development of venous thrombosis while the risk level in homozygotic individuals is 80 times. The rate of prevalence of FV Leiden mutation in the world ranges from 0 to 15 %. APC- resistance is caused by point mutation in the polynucleotide chain of a gene for factor V. Here it concerns the exchange of the nucleotide sequence respectively nitrogen basis of guanine and adenine for the position 1691 (G1691A). It creates a triplet which codes in position 506 in the place of amino acid arginine -Arg, R, glutamine -Gln, Q(R506Q). It causes resistance of the active factor V against protein C, which is to inactivate it. The factor V stays henceforth pro- coagulative and thus the creation of thrombin increases together with the risk of thromboembolic disease. The goal of this thesis was summarising of research findings related to the focused theme Leiden mutation, its signification and methods of examination, analyze whole blood samples of patients examined at Leiden mutation carrier status in the center of Laboratory Medicine BioLab, spol. s. r. o. in Klatovy and in consequence and then evaluate and interpret the results of the found out results. Carrier of FV Leiden mutation was observed in a group of patients of both sexes coming from Plzeň and Ústí nad Labem region using real-time PCR. Of the 169 patients examined 111 samples were obtained from women and 58 samples from men. Among women there were found 21 heterozygous carriers (18.9%) and 1 homozygous carrier of (0.9%) FV Leiden mutation. The male population was observed incidence of 17 heterozygotes (29.3%). None of the men did not hold the homozygous genotype FV Leiden mutation. Although the men were twice as frequent carriers of that mutation was not statistical analyzes demonstrated the effect of gender on the transfer FV Leiden mutation (P = 0.2).
