Art house cinemas in Brno

This Bachelor's Thesis describes the Art House Cinema situation in Brno, Czech Republic, especially in relation to the findings from the book Sure Seaters: The Emergence of Art House Cinema from Barbara Wilinski and analyses other related things that affect Art House Cinemas, such as the movie distribution network, film festivals, the emergence of art house cinema in the US and history if cinematography in the Czech Republic. There is only one art house cinema in Brno, the Art Cinema. It was founded in 1914 and its programme compared to other cinemas in Brno is very unconventional. Just like in the case of other art house cinemas its regular visitors are people who do not go to the cinema for pure entertainment but seek further values in cinema, like education. The average number of visitors in 2011 was comparable to other small cinemas in Brno. The cinema was digitalized towards the end of 2011 and this will allow the cinema to screen movies earlier after they are released to distribution. According to the director of Art Cinema, Mr. Daniel Zásměta, the cinema has a great potential to appeal to the younger population, mainly students, but has so far failed to reach them. The reason behand that might be in part due to its insufficient digital marketing and its weak social presence. The upcoming changes and the recent digitalization however have a chance to impove the situation and bring more visitor to the cinema, from all ranges of audiences.

Marketing activities of Czech cinemas and multiplexes focused on the cinema Světozor

The bachelor thesis "Marketing activities of Czech cinemas and multiplexes focused on the cinema Svetozor" describes different methods of marketing applied by both these types of cinemas. The thesis primarily focuses on the alternative cinemas. The different types of cinemas imply that also the character of their marketing activitites will differ. By marketing activities the author means mainly promotion activities of Czech classical cinemas; these are explicated for both Svetozor cinema and other art cinemas. As for multicinemas, this work concentrates on different types of cinema advertising which different multicinemas enable to various companies. There are marketing strategies based on a SWOT analysis proposed for both types of the cinemas and multicinemas and for Svetozor in particular. This work suggests that to be able to stand up to relatively new competition of multicinemas, the classical cinemas need to change their marketing strategies. Focus should be given to the importance of brand and establishing own corporate identity. These questions will also be analysed for the marketing communication of Svetozor cinema in years 2004 - 2009. Modern history of Aero cinema

This work deals with the recent history of the film theatre Aero, from the year 1998, when it was taken over by the citizens association Pro-Aero, Company for the renewal and development of Aero. The first part describes in detail the growth of this art cinema, the conception of its dramaturgy based on short festivals and original events. The work also deals with the gradual growth of Aero's regional network; its affiliation with other cinemas (Bio Centrál in Hradec Králové, Světozor and Bio Oko in Prague), as well as with the distribution of movies through the company Aerofilms. The second part analyses the promotional strategies of Aero and its sister companies which involve the use of the marketing instruments of 4P, the evolution of ticket prices and of box office rates. Integrated multichannel audio amplifier for home cinema

This paper describes complete design of amplifier for home cinema system. Described amplifier has 2 digital inputs (TOSLINK and S/PDIF) and single analog input. With this inputs it is possible to connect amplifier to a source of surround audio 5+1 signal. Paper further discuss design of correction circuits, preamplifier, power amplifier and power source. The whole is controlled by 8-bit microprocessor and has a graphics output implemented through LCD display. The goal of this paper is to design and build high quality amplifier.

Revitalization of the building, a case study of the use of the building Dobříš Cinema.

This Master thesis is dealing with building of the former cinema from 1950 its meaning and current possibilities of using. The building is located in the city center and it is thus denied to the attention of local residents. The aim of this work was to assess the current needs of the locals and further implement them to structural and technical project-level study. The building still hides its potential and is seen untapped in this area today. Local organizations and individuals have expressed their interest in the preservation of the building in the past and it makes a pressure to municipality to do action. The outcome of work is more valuable because it can serve as a basis for building authority and competent authorities as an inspiration in the current negotiations on the future shape of the object.

My bachelor thesis Today´s Cinema Distribution Formats occupy with actual statement of digitizing in the Czech republic. It tries to describe actual connexion between digital and analog technology, specify its advantage, disadvantage and show some possibilities of the combination of both in the individual phase of the film production. My work describes technical parameters, connecting with the changeover from analog to digital projection and tries to describe, in the simple way, today´s available equipment for the digital cinemas. It shows the goverment´s attitude to this matters. It tries to map actual offer of digital cameras with high definition.

Marketing strategy for the Aero Cinema

The bachelor thesis deals with marketing in the field of services, namely in a case of the Prague art Aero Cinema. The main goal of this thesis is to suggest an improvement of the current marketing strategy of the cinema. The practical part of the thesis presents the Aero Cinema, its history, marketing mix and SWOT analysis. Possible improvements of current marketing strategy are suggested on the basis of a typical customer's profile, identified using a survey.
