Astronomie ve středověké Praze
Hadravová, Alena ; Hadrava, Petr
Astronomy ranked among the septem artes liberales which achieved high level at the University of Prague already soon after its foundation by the Emperor Charles IV. in 1348. Master Claretus de Solentia (Bartholomaeus of Chlumec, c. 1320-1370), who composed a didactic work Astronomicus on Charles' order in about 1350, can be mentioned as an example of scholar of this early period. At the beginning of the 15th century, Masters Cristannus of Prachatice and Johannes Sindel were very influential astronomers in Prague University. The interest of both of them in astronomical instruments can be documented by their treatises.

Community Centre Roškovce
Lvová, Andrea ; Dočkal, Jan (advisor) ; Pospíšil, Milan (referee)
This thesis deals with the problems associated with the relationship between Romany socially excluded localities and the majority in Slovakia. It shows how the Community Centre Roškovce manages to improve the situation in the village. The author's view is not only a view of a social worker, because the author of this thesis studies the Romistic (Romany studies) at Faculty of Philosophy and Arts, Charles University at the same time. She used the knowledge in Romany language and Romany culture; she collected data during observation. Two of the Centre's goals are: 1. to provide services to the whole community in Roškovce, and 2. improving the relationship between the Romany community in Roškovce and the Slovak majority in the neighbourhood. This thesis evaluates how does the Centre succeed in these goals two years after its opening. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Post-penitentiary treatment and prevention of recidivism
Hrnčíř, Luděk ; Vokoun, Rudolf (advisor) ; Vanduchová, Marie (referee)
RÉSUMÉ The work presented is a Master thesis completed at the Criminal law department under theLaw faculty of the Charles' University. It deals with recidivism, its causes and prerequisites of its occurrence. Preventive activities in the Czech republic are also a part of this project. Emphasis is put especially ontertiary preventive activities, namely working with people who have commited crime before. Postpenitential care plays an important role here, especially the problems of returning the convicted person into normal life. For synoptic reasons, the text also contains the overview of the Czech legal regulations, especially the standards of the criminal law. The standards of the social security law, which determine the system made by the state for people exposed to social exclusion, are also dealt with here. Apart from the national legislative, the international regulations are also mentioned here, although they are rather informal recommendations of the EU. A special chapter is devoted to Czech prison system. Conditions in Czech jails are described as well as programme set up for dealing with prisoners and also the difficulties of so called exit departments. The most important part of the thesis contains information about the state and opportunities of the postpenitential care. These problems occur in...

Utilization of the database applications in clinical research
Telička, Zdeněk ; Jiskra, Jan (advisor) ; Doležal, Tomáš (referee)
The Diploma Thesis "Utilization of database applications in clinical research" deals with development of client-server database application for 3rd Medical Department, 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague. Application's aim is to store structured data of patients' examinations, treatments and biochemical results. Purpose of the application is to facilitate data processing for clinical research, which is very difficult, because information stored in hospital information system doesn't contain detailed records from medical examinations. Also, searching for several entries is slow. As well, application allows import patient identification data from hospital information system. This function provides physicians wide range of possibilities in data processing 4 and comparison in relation to treatments. Effective feature of this application is faster writing medical reports stored in information system because they are automatically generated from application's database.

Measurement of transverse relaxation using spin echo methods
Škoch, Antonín ; Tošner, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Hanyková, Lenka (referee)
Title: Measurement of transverse relaxation using spin echo methods Author: MUDr. Antonin Skoch, Ph.D. Department: Department of Low Temperature Physics Supervisor: RNDr. Zdenek ToSner, Ph.D. NMR laboratory, of Faculty of science, Charles University in Prague Supervisor's e-mail address: tosner(o)karlov.mff.cuni.cz Abstract: The study of TI relaxation in systems with homonuclear J-coupling is complicated by modulation in the relaxation curve. This J-modulation can be removed when CPMG sequence is used and the period of repetition of refocusing pulse Tfulfils a condition r « * ( 1 ) Ai' where Av is the frequency difference of coupled nuclei. However, the condition (I) cannot be in practice always fulfilled. The aim of this work was to investigate J-modulation and relaxation behaviour of homonuclear J-coupled system in various parameters of CPMG sequence. Simulations based on numerical solution of Liouville-von Neumann equation and Redfield theory were performed. Relaxation curves of Chh group of citrate were measured on high-resolution NMR spectrometer. It was found that the suppression of J-modulation can be achieved also for T longer than required by the condition (1) providing that the refocusing angle in CPMG for both J-coupling partners 9^180ř. The simulations yielded conditions for T when J-modulation...

Biological activity of plant metabolites. XVII. Influence of alkaloids from different plant taxons on acetylcholinesterase.
Nováková, Jana ; Opletal, Lubomír (advisor) ; Siatka, Tomáš (referee)
Nováková, J.: Biological activity of plant metabolites XVII. Influence of alkaloids from several taxons of plants on acetylcholinesterase. Rigorous thesis. Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, 2008. p. 71. Within the frame of the rigorous thesis, a screening of alkaloids from some botanical taxons used or toxikologically significant in Europe (and also in traditional Chinese medicine) on inhibition of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) was performed. Using a suitable extraction method the summary extracts from morfological parts of Laurus nobilis L. (leaf), Buxus sempervirens L. (sprigs and leaf), Lycopodium clavatum L. (aerial parts), Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn. (stamens and bulb), Fritillaria thunbergii L. (tuber), Fritillaria cirrhosa L. (tuber), Stemona spp. (root) a Stephania tetrandra S. Moore (root) have been obtained. Individual extracts were prepared by digestion and further analyzed by TLC on silica gel in neutral and basic system for alkaloid content (Dragendorff-reactant). Inhibitory activities of the extracts and of the standards (physostigmine, galanthamine) were subsequently determined by means of autobiographical method using TLC (silica gel, only neutral developing system). AChE came from eletrical conger, 1-naphtyl acetate and Fast Blue B Salt were used for...

Synthesis of unsymmetrical derivatives of azaphthalocyanines and their complex formation with pyridine
Žižkovská, Jana ; Zimčík, Petr (advisor) ; Miletín, Miroslav (referee)
1. Summary Synthesis of unsymmetrical derivatives of azaphthalocyanines and their complex formation with pyridine Mgr. Jana Žižkovská Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Drug Control Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University in Prague I prepared the mixture of six possible products (AAAA, AAAB, ABAB, AABB, ABBB, BBBB) using a statistical condensation starting from two different precursors - 5,6- bis(diethyamino)pyrazine-2,3-dicarbonitrile (A) and 5-diethylamino-6-[2-(4,4'- dimethoxytrifenymethoxy)-ethylamino]pyrazine-2,3-dicarbonitrile (B). Only compound of AAAB type was isolated by column chromatography from the mixture, purified and was characterized by NMR, IR, MS, UV-VIS spectroscopy. The precursor (B) was changed - 5-diethylamino-6-[2-(4,4'-dimethoxytrifenymethoxy)- ethylmethylamino]pyrazine-2,3-dicarbonitrile - and the statistical condensation was done the same way. Unfortunately the desired AAAB product was unstable and therefore the work was finished. In another part of this work I have studied a formation of proton-transfer complex with two molecules of pyridine. Three different AzaPc with hydroxy groups on periphery were used in this study. The influence of hydroxy groups on the rate constant was not confirmed. Then I used only one AzaPc -...

Doležal, Rafael ; Waisser, Karel (advisor) ; Lehotay, Jozef (referee) ; Ponec, Robert (referee)
DOLEŽAL Rafael: Quantitative relationships between the structure and antimycobacterial activity of selected potential antituberculotics. Hradec Králové: Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University in Prague, 2008, 274 pp. Ph.D. Thesis. The Ph.D. thesis deals with analysis of quantitative relationships between the structure and antimycobacterial activity (QSAR) of four structural classes of potential antituberculotics - derivatives of N-phenylcarbamic acid esters, derivatives of 1-phenyl-1H-tetrazole-5-thiol, derivatives of salicylamides and derivatives of salicylthioamides. In total, 600 computer models of different compounds were created. 204 of them, after conformational analysis in HyperChem 7.52 and geometric optimization with the B3LYP/6-31G* DFT method in Gaussian 03, provided data for calculation of several types of descriptors. Attention was turned especially to local, quantum-chemical descriptors of electronic properties, such as superdelocalizability, index of frontier electron density and Mulliken electric charge. The QSAR analyses are based on searching for statistically significant correlations between the antimycobacterial activities in vitro and a matrix of various descriptors by means of multiple linear regression (MLR) with the use of a selection algorithm, by the...

the problem of unpardonable sin in the new testament
Hanes, Timotej ; Liguš, Ján (advisor) ; Veverková, Kamila (referee)
HANES, Timotej: The problem of the unpardonable sin in the ew Testament, pneumatologico - hamartological view. [Master thesis] / Timotej Hanes. - Charles University in Prague. Hussite Theological Faculty; - Supervisor: Prof. ThDr. Ján Liguš, PhD. - Degree: Master. - Prague : HTF UK, 2011. 91 p. The thesis discusses the problem of the unpardonable sin on the based on the text from Matthew 12:31-32. Its goal is to give the reader a better grasp of this problem and to be able to create his own opinion about it. It tries to accomplish the goal by offering as accurate picture of the perception the New Testament books authors had on this problem as possible using a detailed exegesis of the text mentioned above. In the second part, the thesis compares the results of the exegesis with the perception various important people of Christian history had on the unpardonable sin. In the empirical part, the thesis studies what this perception is among Christians these days and it tries to suggest some changes, that could contribute to conforming this perception to the biblical one as much as possible. Key words: the unpardonable sin, blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, exegesis, biblical view
