Wikturna, Jan ; Strejček, Ivo (advisor) ; Zamrazilová, Eva (referee)
This Bachelor thesis is focused on a macroeconomic analysis of the process of the real and nominal convergence of the Visegrad Group countries to the old member states of the European Union, called EU-15 during the period of 2000-2015. The objective of the analysis is to confirm or disprove the hypothesis that in the selected period there is a convergence of the economically backward V4 countries with the advanced EU-15 countries and to highlight the factors that are behind the narrowing of the gap in economics and price levels. The theoretical part deals with the ways in which we measure and compare the economic performance and economic level, and explains the different approaches of the problem of economic growth and the subsequent catching up effect. The practical part is focused on a comparison of elected macroeconomic indicators and reference is made to the selected factors to determine whether, and for what reasons, the economic convergence of these selected countries made towards the developed countries of the EU-15. The analytical part confirms the ongoing process of the real and nominal convergence throughout the period, but its course is varied during different times of the period. In conclusion, it is found that the rate varied by the convergence processes and in fact positively affected the V4 countries, that joined the European Union. The incoming dynamics of the convergence, especially the prices, were significantly disrupted by the economic crisis.

The bachelor thesis is about an evaluation of economic efficiency of prohibition of gambling in selected Czech cities since 2010. The theoretical part contains a definition of basic terms, a chapter about social costs and it also deals with a prohibition and the shadow economy. The practical part contains chapters about current legislation, about gambling market in the Czech Republic, next chapter is about methodology and at the end of this part there is the evaluation of economic efficiency. This chapter deals with an explanation why we can call the prohibition inefficient. It is also a resume of the thesis which is back up an argument of progress of total social costs and total revenues. The bachelor thesis, in spite of other Czech papers, works with presumption that the social costs are produced by pathological gamblers and it deals just with the original social costs. That is the reason why the thesis provides an original quantification of the social costs and new view on problems which are connected with regulation of gambling.

Kotábová, Lenka ; Goldmann, Petr (advisor) ; Viktorová, Ida (referee)
Main theme of this work is generation of coping strategies by the women with alcohol dependence. Author is highlighting mounting society tolerance to stress and to alcohol abuse and she also shows this two phenomenon in mutual context. By the women side of population author particular describe dependence and border of society norm. Main goal is to bring to light and explore maladaptive strategies, by women with alcohol dependence, which are varied from ordinary population and the reason of such a behavior. To solve this issue author chose two methods. Firstly she uses data from TAT projective test, secondly verbal self examination test SVF. Inquire group of women author compare with control group of women, who embody no alcohol problem. Better success is expected from control group, because normal population should have better coping strategies. From result of research ensue, that women with alcohol dependence embody worse coping strategies indeed. But this difference is not such as strong as was expected. In declarative test SVF alcohol dependent women overestimate their strategies in comparison to TAT. On the base of this fact author offers hypothesis, that it can be only proclamation in presentation of coping strategies. Women from control group anticipate their strategies more accurately.

Vedralová, Zuzana ; Riedlbauch, Václav (advisor) ; Malcová, Zuzana (referee)
This Bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of the assimilation of the Chinese community in the Czech Republic, especially in Prague, where we can find the largest number of Chinese immigrants. The aim of this thesis is to map the position of this growing community in our country and the problems of their integration into the society from a socio-economic and also cultural view. There is still not a large number of works dealing with similar topics, which is also one of the reasons why I chose it. It is possible to divide this thesis into three parts. The first deals mainly with the history of Chinese emigration and their gradual settling down in the Czech Republic. The second part goes more into detail and describes the problematics of the Czech-Chinese coexistence and of the integration of the Chinese into our society. The third part consists of a survey which I carried out, in order to find out how the Czech perceive the Chinese community, how much they know about it and what their experiences are.

School phobia
ŘEHÁČKOVÁ, Irena
When we are thinking about entering the system of compulsory education in future, we project an image about how it should be like, about our future schoolmates, and then there comes the greatest surprise of all the teacher. Unfortunately, not everybody reaches the end of their time spent in school with success and without difficulties. The daughters of my respondents suffer from school phobia, which illustrates these issues. The topic of my thesis is School phobia. These issues may arise out of several causes. The child may be anxious not only about the school environment and associated dangers that await him or her there, but also about the teacher that might have made an inappropriate comments about the child. One of the other factors contributing to this phobia is separation anxiety. Child that suffers from separation anxiety cannot be separated from his or her mother. It is not only the child who may suffer from separation anxiety. This issue might be also rooted in the personality of mother or father. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to provide real-life information from mothers bringing up a child suffering from school phobia. Their testimonies should be able to provide an overview of the issues surrounding children with school phobia ? its origin, course of the disorder and, in the case of these particular respondents, also still to-be-solved treatment from health care specialists. This bachelor thesis is based on qualitative research. The collected information was acquired from answers from personal face-to-face semi-structured discussions with mothers of affected children. The beginning of the theoretical part of my diploma thesis focuses on general definition of basic concepts and topics associated with school phobia. What follows is a separate chapter dealing in detail with school phobia. This section focuses, among others, on the reasons for school phobia occurring caused by both parents and school staff. The topic of penultimate chapter is family. For example, I describe the family atmosphere-The last chapter deals with school and school maturity. What is also mentioned is the issue of bullying that may have a negative impact on school phobia. The research goal of the empirical part of this bachelor thesis is as to discover the ways parents and educators use to identify issues associated with school phobia in children, their approach towards this phobia and solutions. To achieve this goal, I have asked three key research questions: 1)How do parents identify school phobia issues in children? 2)What kind of approach parents adopt towards pupils suffering from school phobia? 3)What methods proved to be successful in dealing with school phobia issues? The answers to these research questions can be found in Interpretace výsledků (Interpretation of results) chapter that contains a lot of interesting information. One piece of interesting information is, for example, that while the causes of school phobia in daughters of my respondents were different, the issues associated with gradual development of school phobia have almost the same origins connected mainly to psychosomatical symptoms. The attitude of questioned mothers to their daughters´ issues is almost the same, and this also applies to the major and key attitude towards accepting the existence of their daughter´s school phobia and providing psychological support from family. The ways mothers tried to solve the issues connected to school phobia are also the same as far as the number of health care specialists they thought might help them are concerned. For all three daughters of respondents the situation is as follows: none of the said health care specialist was able to come with a reliable cure to school phobia.
