Effect of Morphology of Nanostructures to Filter Ultrafine Particles
Kimmer, D. ; Vincent, I. ; Fenyk, J. ; Petráš, D. ; Zatloukal, M. ; Sambaer, W. ; Ždímal, Vladimír
Selected procedures permitting to prepare homogeneous nanofibre structures of the desired morphology by employing a suitable combination of variables during the electrospinning process are presented. A comparison (at the same pressure drop) was made of filtration capabilities of planar polyurethane nanostructures formed exclusively by nanofibres and space nanostructures having bead spacers or structures formed by a combination of micro-and nanofibres, through which ultrafine particles of ammonium sulphate 20 - 400 nm in size were filtered. The structures studied were described using a new digital image analysis technique based on black and white images obtained by scanning electron microscopy.

Derivatives of pyrazine as potential antituberculars (preparation and study of biological properties)
Janďourek, Ondřej ; Doležal, Martin (advisor) ; Farsa, Oldřich (referee) ; Musílek, Kamil (referee)
Charles University, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Pharmaceutical chemistry and Pharmaceutical analysis Candidate Mgr. Ondřej Janďourek Supervisor Prof. PharmDr. Martin Doležal, Ph.D. Consultant PharmDr. Jan Zitko, Ph.D. Title of Doctoral Thesis Derivatives of pyrazine as potential antituberculars (preparation and study of biological properties) This work is focused on pyrazine derivatives with the structural relationship to pyrazinamide (PZA) and with the potential antitubercular effect. In the introduction, there are summarized theoretical findings about tuberculosis (TBC), its epidemiology and primarily the development of resistance to current pharmacotherapy. Brief overview of known antituberculars, novel compounds and auspicious molecules in clinical trials is outlined. PZA, which is counted among the first line antitubercular agents, is widely described due to its cardinal role in this thesis. PZA possible mechanisms of action are described together with its pharmacological profile. Finally, brief summary of already prepared derivatives of PZA is stated. Practical part of this thesis is focused on synthesis of three starting compounds (5-chloro-6-methylpyrazine-2,3-dicarbonitrile; 3-chloropyrazine-2-carboxamide; N-benzyl-3-chloropyrazine-2-carboxamide) that were...

Study on sorption of inorganic nutrients on lignite
Vahala, Jan ; Klučáková, Martina (referee) ; Sedláček, Petr (advisor)
Although lignit represents a valuable chemical substrate, it has been utilized mostly as a fuel in energetic industry. This application is not cost-effective at all and provides a negative ecological impact. Therefore, this bachelor thesis focuses on sorption properties of lignite utilizable in its alternative, mostly agricultural applications. Experimental part of the work deals with sorption and desorption of model inorganic nutrients (nitrates and phosphates as main components of standard inorganic fertilizers). Results of the experiments provides closer view on an application potential of lignite as a carrier of these nutrients or as an organic supplement to traditional NPK agricultural fertilizers.

The effect of boron and its compounds on setting time of portland cement
Kratochvíl, Jiří ; Švec, Jiří (referee) ; Opravil, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of this work is to study the influence of boron and its compounds, boric acid and borax, on hydratation of portland cement. The first part describes chemical composition of portland cement and reactivity of its components. The second part deals with hydratation of portland cement. The teoretical part ends with description of retardation of portland cement using gypsum or other sulphate options. The experimental part describes preparation of samples – cement paste – modified by addition of boron, boric acid and borax in diferent concentrations. Results are obtained by evaluation of calorimetric curves, mechanical properties and phase composition. The goal is to describe kinetics of targeted slowed down process of hydratation and to find such addition which would suspend setting of boron modified system entirely. Comparison of effects of each boron-containing compound is based on its concentration and on its kind.

Study of effects natural disturbance in the natural mountain forests in South Korea by using dendrochronological methods
PLENER, Tomáš
This study deals with the effect of natural disturbance caused by typhoons on the natural dynamic of primary mountain forests of South Korea. Further study subjects are change of typhoon characteristics and influence caused by the global climatic change and evaluation of ecological requirements of woody plants. The study is based on dendrochronological methods.

Technology in potato cultivation aimed at efficient use of nitrogen
Svobodová, Andrea ; Hamouz, Karel (advisor) ; Miroslav, Miroslav (referee)
Environmental-friendly technology of potato growing was studied in field trial plots on Valečov Research Station belonging to Potato Research Institute Havlíčkův Brod between 2010 and 2014. The first part was focused on the effect of local application of mineral fertilizers on production yield and quality. The second part studied the effect of nitrogen fertilizer containing urease inhibitor (UREAstabil) compared to urea in increasing rates on yield and selected parameters of potato quality. In the first part of trials with liquid DAM 390, ammonium sulphate and urea the obtained results show that yield differences among selected fertilization variants were insignificant with certain tendency in favour of the variant with split nitrogen rate using DAM 390. For evaluated quality parameters no statistically significant differences among tested fertilization variants were recorded. In the second part of trials evaluating UREAstabil and urea applied at various rates during soil preparation prior to planting, applied rate had a higher effect on potato yields than nitrogen form. The results show that mutual comparison of urea and UREAstabil did not indicate any statistically significant yield differences.

Investigation of the impact of stress factors on structure and function of the photosynthetic apparatus of rape (/Brassica napus /L.
RÁKOSNÍKOVÁ, Tamara
The thesis deals with the influence of cold plasma,as a stress factor, on content and fluorescence of chlorrophylls of oilseed rape. Theoretical part deals with characteristic oilseeds rape, fluorescence, photosynthetic pigments and the effects of cold plasma on on physiology of plants. The theoretical part continues in experimental mesurement. The eperiment was done in laboratory conditions. The own of eperiment was to discover the influence of cold plasma on the amount of chlorophylls and fluorescence of chlorophylls. The rape seads were treated with cold plasma for the duration of various time interval. The thesis considersif the plants, which were sprouted from treated seeds, show higher values of physiological activities as compared with plants germinated from conventional seed.

Can you raise your expected points earned at state leaving exam by the selection of the school?
Brabec, Jan ; Kovanda, Lukáš (advisor) ; Čermáková, Klára (referee)
In my bachelor's thesis I examine the various characteristics of grammar schools' influence on students' success regarding the state leaving exam. Specifically, if the applicant can raise his or her expected points earned simply by the mere selection of the school. I work with data from the 2011 and 2012 graduation years and I concentrate on the average scores in Czech language and literature, English and math. Econometric analysis shows that some variables do have an effect on students' results. Playing the most significant roles are class size (positive effect), instructor qualification (positive effect) and religious affiliation (negative effect).
