Ve své bakalářské práci zkoumám, zda mají různé charakteristiky gymnázií vliv na úspěch studentů u didaktického testu státní maturity, tedy jestli může uchazeč o studium pouhým výběrem školy zvýšit svůj očekávaný bodový zisk. Pracuji s daty o maturitních ročnících 2011 a 2012 a zaměřuji se na průměrné výsledky školy v testech z českého jazyka a literatury, anglického jazyka a matematiky. Ekonometrickou analýzou jsem došel k závěru, že některé proměnné skutečně mají vliv na výsledky žáků. Nejvýznamnější roli hrají průměrná velikost třídy (pozitivní vliv), aprobovanost výuky (pozitivní vliv) a to, zda je gymnázium nábožensky zaměřené (negativní vliv). In my bachelor's thesis I examine the various characteristics of grammar schools' influence on students' success regarding the state leaving exam. Specifically, if the applicant can raise his or her expected points earned simply by the mere selection of the school. I work with data from the 2011 and 2012 graduation years and I concentrate on the average scores in Czech language and literature, English and math. Econometric analysis shows that some variables do have an effect on students' results. Playing the most significant roles are class size (positive effect), instructor qualification (positive effect) and religious affiliation (negative effect).
