Politics and society in Angola in the 1970s: MPLA' s struggle for the consolidation of power
Caetano Joáo, Mário Augusto ; Kumsa, Alemayehu (advisor) ; Klíma, Jan (referee) ; Kropáček, Luboš (referee)
Politics and Society in Angola in the 70's of the 20th century: MPLA's struggle for the consolidation of power is a rigorous and meticulous work on the internal dynamics existing in MPLA, first as a movement and then as a political party, through the greatest moments, which in its development occurred. The seventies of last century represent the biggest crisis in the history of the Angolan strongest political party ever. The work seeks to highlight the political consequences but also consequences in human lives that these crises have influenced. During the 70's of the 20th century four major events bring MPLA on the verge of liberation process. On the eastern front, at the beginning of the seventies, there was an uprising in the MPLA army against the central leadership. Later, Daniel Chipenda, a member of the MPLA Steering Committee, took the lead of the rebellion. In terms of leadership in MPLA, this was the first major collapse between the Steering Committee and the MPLA social and rural bases. Right after took place another revolt, which was called Active Revolt, in May 1974 in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo where MPLA had its headquarters. It was carried out by mostly intellectual dissidents, but it brought structural catastrophic consequences for MPLA, when the 25th April 1974 in Portugal played a coup...

Torso
Bílek, Ondřej ; Šebánek, Jan (referee) ; Gabriel, Michal (advisor)
As a practical diploma work I modeled and cast a statue fragments of a life-size gorillas. It is another statue with the theme of humanization, which I dealt with in my previous tvorbě.Tentokrát but not a physical intervention (human eyes, skin color), but the position in which the classical sculpture displayed in the human body.

The Town and Nature
Tupá, Jana ; Czumalo, Vladimír (advisor) ; Lapka, Miloslav (referee)
This bachelor thesis analyzes relationship between town and nature within the city, the inner nature, and its changes during the history of Western culture. This relationship is revealing through culturological point of view, thus interdisciplinary. This bachelor thesis goes from fields of historical anthropology, philosophy, philosophical anthropology and architecture. I perceive town as one of the most important features of human culture, that this artificial living space created, and it's further influenced. The relationship of city and nature is treated as expression of natural forces with which the man met during its existence, in the form of architecture, and the transfer of the nature into this artificial world in the form of gardens and parks, as an inner nature. KEY WORDS Town Nature Inner Nature Human Culture

Human factor in air transport
Pískatý, Slavomír ; Šplíchal, Miroslav (referee) ; Chlebek, Jiří (advisor)
This dissertation examines the problems of human error in civil aviation. Its aim is, first and foremost, to evaluate types, origins and frequency of particular mistakes in piloting technique of aeroplanes. The dissertation comprises a study of the commonest human errors as presented by the examples of European airlines. The conclusion of the dissertation details proposals of method and approach on eliminating human error and thus increasing air travel safety.

Has Marriage and Birth Rates an Increasing Trend During the Economic Crisis?
Feurich, Marek ; Chytilová, Helena (advisor) ; Slaný, Martin (referee)
The economic crisis affects human decision-making through income and substitution effect. The aim of this work is to prove the assumption that the substitution effect operates in the Czech Republic with a higher intensity than the income effect. In other words that economic crisis has positive impact on marriage and birth rates. To test for the relationship among variables, regression analysis is performed on quarterly time series between the years 1993-2012. Two separate models for marriage and natality are assembled. Although the development of the minimum wage and the size of the gross domestic product shows positive effects on marriage and fertility rates, results demonstrate that negative effects of rising unemployment and declining interest rates operates with greater intensity. Against original assumptions is the overall impact of the economic crisis on the marriage and the birth rate proved to be negative in the observed period in Czech Republic.

Contactless measurement of surface temperatures in mechanical engineering
Anaxagorou, Georgios ; Slaný, Martin (referee) ; Polzer, Aleš (advisor)
his Diploma thesis deals with non-contact measurement of surface temperatures. Describes the basic physical principles by which individual instruments are designed, their technical parameters and compares the different types. It deals with the applications of this technology in various fields of human activity and especially its use in engineering.

Evaluation of chat bots
Hazdra, Jan ; Sigmund, Tomáš (advisor) ; Čermák, Radim (referee)
This thesis deals with the evaluation of theability of machines to imitate human behavior. Presents a brief history of the development on the field of artificial intelligence and intelligent machines, specifically chat botsand describes their evolution throughout the 20th century. It describes the most important features and building blocks of chat bots, including the most widely used programming languages for creating them.It also describes the theory of A. Turing, the test and the imitation game, on which is based methodology for evaluating chat bots. Then it also examines the criticism of the Turing's test by J. R. Searle's chinese room argument that is used for its better understanding and finding its boundaries. The work also describes H. Dreyfus's assumptions, which led to optimism in the late 90s in development in artificial intelligence and limits of artificial intelligence, on which he pointed out. The main objective is the metodology proposed in the second part, which is used for comparing selected chat bots and then used for their evaluation. Overall evaluation consists of evaluations in the sub-categories in which will be individual chat bots scored. The methodology is based on the Turing test, which slightly modifies, but also extends thanks to the ideas of other authors.

Endoscopic laser-assisted cordectomies classified by Remacle and Rudert (typ I-V cordectomies) comprise a vast range of procedures from simple vocal cord stripping or submucosal cordectomy (type I) through more extensive surgery (subligamentous cordectomy- type II, transmuscular chordectomy- type III) to complete (type IV) or extended cordectomies (type V) used when tumour involves the anterior commisure, arytenoid region, subglottic region etc. Endoscopic laser-assisted surgery of the larynx is usually indicated in early stages of infiltrative malignant disease of the glottic region (Tla-b, T2) or in preneoplastic conditions (laryngeal intraepithelial neoplasia - LIN I, II or III). Radiotherapy is also believed to be an equivalent type of oncological therapy for these diseases. Both surgery and radiotherapy can worsen one of the main functions of the human larynx- the human voice. Because the overall survival rates and local control rates are quite similar in both types of therapy, one should always have in mind something that is beyond the main goal of achieving radical removal of the tumour- patients quality of life (QoL) and quality of voice. It is very interesting to compare QoL and voice quality in different types of treatment. The possibility to conserve the radiotherapy for the possible recurrence...

Stress-strain analysis of arterial aneurysms
Tesařová, Petra ; Skácel, Pavel (referee) ; Burša, Jiří (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on the creation of the aneurysm finite element model and the making of the aneurysm wall stess-strain analysis using ANSYS software. The model of abdominal aortic aneurysm geometry starts from the CT scan of the particular patient. In the thesis there are compared two chosen constitutive models, each of them appears from different mechanical tests done on human arterial fibre samples. Furthermore, a limiting condition for aneurysm wall structure damage is expressed. On the basis of the results of stress calculation in the aneurysm wall and the limiting condition, the safety coefficient and rupture factors risk are worked out.
