Physiotherapeutic methods for the damage of the soft tissues of the knee joint
JAKEŠOVÁ, Kateřina
Abstract I chose as the theme of my thesis the effectiveness of physiotherapy following knee injuries. The aim of this work was determine whether appropriate and timely preventive treatment can prevent acute knee injuries in chronically unstable knee. Specifially, is it possible to avoid reinjuring or causing trauma to chronically unstable knee during physiotherapy. Research was conducted using a qualitative method and case reports on two women who had problems with chronic knee instability. The first patient received therapy from 15.1. to 6.4. 2009, while the second patient received therapy from 24.1. to 14.4. 2009. Thus both patiant received approximately 3 mont of physiotherapy. In the course of rehabilitation, treatment focused on sensory motor stimulation therapy. This therapy took place at two different physiotherapy clinics, where I had the most effective monitoring instruments. Both patiant with chronic knee instability were of simile age and the therapy was conducted during approximately the same time period. The first patient, whose sports activities typically involve home exercise and training, is rapidly recovering from both her subjective and objekctive symptoms. Further gradual improvement in her condition can be reasonably assumed. For the second patient, the pain fluctuates depending upon the sport load placed upon the knee. The goal there was to eliminate the phenomenon of {\clq}qgiving way``. From an objective point of view, this problem was fully resolved. In connection with these findings the patints were properly advised of therapy, shown how they can continue the therapy by themselves in their homes, encouraged to regularly return to the clinic for follow- up exams, and advised to purchase {\clq}qunstable boards`` for their homes.

Goals: Goals of this thesis was to determine informedness and exploitation of the regeneration procedures at the assault police units in Czech Republic and eventually in foreign special units. Next goal was deeper and more comprehensive review about possible regeneration procedures. With aim to document these newly obtained informations and present them to the police units as trustworthy for next use. This part was aimed to ease the access to the policemen to the informations in this area, to outline the advantages and encourage them to the use of the regeneration procedures, to protection of health and for increase the effectiviness of the preparation for their demanding work. Method: For determination of the use of regeneration procedures at police assault units we have used questionare method. Questionare has been sent to the seven assault police units in Czech republic and to the four foreign special units in European Union countries. Results: Results shows that most demanding activity is physical training, most frequent injuries are injuries of the extremities and joints. Mostly used regenaration procedures are sauna and massage. There is also clearly seen informedness and attitude of policemen to the regeneration procedures. Possible use in assault police use is proposed. Keywords: regeneration,...

Effect of long-term administration on haematological parameters Ovosan and representation of immune cells in patients with cancer disease
Horák, Vratislav ; Holubová, Monika ; Pokorná, E.
Despite extensive research and new therapeutic approaches are cancer diseases the second most common cause of death. According to the website, "Epidemiology of malignant tumors in the Czech Republic", which processes data from the National Cancer Registry in 1977 by software SVOD (http://www.svod.cz) it is clear that for some diagnoses (eg pancreatic cancer) is this period, a significant increase in incidence and mortality.

Dietary factors in etiopatogenesis of kidney?s disease.
Kubátová, Andrea ; Hronek, Miloslav (advisor) ; Kudláčková, Zděnka (referee)
Acute and chronic renal diseases belong permanently among those with a relatively significant prevailance. Conservative treatment, including dietetic interventions, plays an important role in medical strategy. Dietetic scheme of the 80's of the 19th century is still used as a fastening point. For this scheme is, of course, unavoidable to be submitted to strict individualisation, not only regarding the health status of the patient, but also in relation to his psychic status and compliance resulting from it, must be taken into consideration. In case of the acute renal failure, the basis of dietetic structures is created by low-protein diets, which range between the energetic value of 25-50 kcal/kg/day and the intake of 0,6-1,2g/kg/day proteins, rich in essential amino acids. Further, the low-protein diets are supplemented with the reduced intake of natrium, calium and phosphorus. With chronic renal failure, dietetic processions are divided into three schemes in dependency on the level of serum creatinin. Moreover, they respect a distortion of lipid metabolism, distortion of glucoregulation and the individual status of the patients again. It is crucial to start conservative medical processions already in the early stadium of renal functions decrease. At the same time, the level of serum creatinin...

The pharmacotherapy of the migraine
Černá, Hana ; Melicharová, Ludmila (advisor) ; Vopršalová, Marie (referee)
In this thesis there are summarized the most important aspects of treatment of migraine. The initial step in treatment of migraine should be proper diagnosis of migraine headaches and triggering factors. Successful disease management is complex, must combine pharmacologic and non- pharmacologic approach, change of lifestyle and nutrition. Good cooperation between the doctor and the patient should be considered under the treatment success. Development of a new type of pharmaceuticals called "triptans" caused the substantial progress. It presents the most effective class of pharmaceuticals and the principal part of management of migraine.

The analysis of antibiotics expositio in inpatients after transplantion of stem cells

UNIVERZITA KARLOVA V PRAZE FARMACEUTICKÁ FAKULTA V HRADCI KRÁLOVÉ KATEDRA SOCIÁLNÍ A KLINICKÉ FARMACIE Abstract of diploma thesis Lukáš Dobrovolný 2008 The analysis of exposition of antibacterial drugs in patiens after stem cell transplantation The thesis focused on gaining the resistence level data connected with six most common microbial organisms isolated in Czech republic even through whole Europe. The uniqueness of the study flows from the characterisitics of analysed patients'group with sorted serious blood malignities requiring bone marrow transplantation. Moreover the thesis' aim is to judge, whether the correctness, accuracy, frequency of the administration and the sufficiency of the used daily dosages of the antimicrobial drugs in the cliníc was in order. The script also addresses to the field of combined antimicrobial treatment. It also scans, which drugs are administered in the hospitál department and under what circumstances and those empirical data compares with the guidelines. This diploma work observes as well the popularity of administered medicaments and examines their usage during two investigated years. The present day state referring to multi or poly rezistent germs including the mechanisms of the selection of these perilous clones is analysed in the theoretical part. That thesis...

Molecular approaches in the analysis of chronic pain in mice
Kopecká, Dagmar ; Šimůnek, Tomáš (advisor) ; Pávek, Petr (referee)
Functional and structural plasticity of central synapses in pain pathways is responsible for the allodynia, hyperalgesia and pain memory caused by different insults like inflammation, neuropathy or trauma. Unfortunately molecular mechanism underlying plasticity at different levels of pain transmission are not yet clearly understood. mTOR is serine-threonine kinase playing a significant role in Long Term Potentiation (LTP) and in local protein translation in Hippocampus and Rac1 (Rho- GTPase) is the key regulator of actin cytoskeleton. Therefore we addressed the potential role of mTOR and Rac1 in activity-dependent plasticity in the spinal cord in the context of chronic pain. Using the western blot analysis, we examined the temporal expression of these proteins in L4+L5 spinal segments using inflammatory pain model. In case of Rac1 we found that the expression is unchanged. In case of mTOR we showed that the change in the expression is not significant but there is a clear trend of increase. To confirm these findings more expesiments are needed to be added. If this is confirmed there is a potential role of mTOR in pain processing.
