Changes of Pre-Primary Children Graphic Activities

The objectives of the bachelor thesis "The Changes in the Artistic Performance of Pre-school Children" are an observation and description of changes in the artistic performance of a representative sample of children attending the nursery school. The research was based on a multiple case study in which the children's artistic performance on the repeatedly assigned topic was researched by means of an analysis of products. The thesis also uses the knowledge of the children's family background and their behavior at nursery school. The survey of the development of the children's artistic performances and a closer characteristic of the features typical of the selected age are elaborated on the basis of professional literature. The research proved to find development changes in the artistic performance of all the representative children.

Artist Emil Pacovsky as an organizer and publisher

Emil Pacovsky. Painter, graphic artist, writer, critic, esthetician, historian and theorist art. In his life he worked in many clubs, associations and art unions. In most of them held important positions. Major was his editorial activity, which started in the first decade of the twentieth century and which remained until the second half of the thirties. In the first half of the twentieth century, especially by the end thirties, was among the respectable and universally recognized figures of the former cultural life. Yet his name is almost unknown to the public today. or in professional circles not find much information about him. usually mentioned only in connection with the Sursum association, which was only art association generation late symbolists. Similarly, researchers are by far engaged exclusively in the context of the association.

The Role of a Poster in the Present-day Society

This thesis consists of two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the problems of visual information and public communication, investigates the role of poster, or billboard in the present-day society. The practical part uses of analysis, synthesis and comparison of theoretical knowledge with artistic experience to create two series of graphic art on the theme ?Women - Gender - position?. These graphic works have the function of poster and billboard. These posters are created by computer graphics. The aim of this thesis is to create artistically valuable works based on theoretical knowledge about the nature, purpose, functions, opportunities and development of graphic design. These works also become a stimulus for thought and discussion on the theme ?Women - gender - positions?.

Questions without answer, answers without questions

This diploma work consists of two parts ? theoretical and practical. The theoretical part concerns on questions which accompany man since his childhood till the end of his life. It looks for answers for questions from different points of view. It looks at the problems from religious, scientific and historical points of view. It connects questions in the historical context. It gives ideas how to make these questions accessible for children. It uses digital photos for displaying the pictures which are further adjusted by using the computer graphics. It thinks over the texts and visual works dealing with the questions which accompany a man and with looking for answers. It focuses mainly on questions about life, the meaning of life, death, life after death, violence and the end of the world. It explains the term ? artist?s book?, it is concerned with the history of this visual media and main representatives dealing with making of artists? books. The aim of this work is to make an author?s book which would be stimulation for thinking of the questions and looking for the answers for them. This book would be created with the help of graphic techniques and on the basis of theoretical knowledge and comparing different points of view.

In the footsteps of history - Castelology

The bachelor thesis takes for the aim to present feudal residences of the Middle Age in artistic expression of the romanticism. In the first part deals with presenting object of castles and in the second part is occupied by artistic elaboration of the subject of castle in the period of Romanticism. In the last part deals with history of those objects which were illustrated in the practical part of thesis. The practical part of the bachelor thesis is created by file of nine graphic lists size A3 and A4, which are created by technology of gravure, exactly by the technology of linocut. The practical part also contains tract about the given theme in pedagogical practise. The end of the bachelor thesis creates annexes of the practical part, illustration of patterns and the created linocuts.


Family in the Graphic Activities of the Children with the Different Family Background

The dissertation deals with art expression of a family by individuals aged from three to fifteen years old growing up in different family environment. The study is structured into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is focused on characteristics of mental and visual development of the child with regard to drawing the human figure, families and environment of children's drawings. This part also aims at a general definition of family and introduces us with its features. It also deals with mental needs of the child and the risks coming with their long-term failure to satisfy. The practical part is focused on the analysis of drawings in terms of its content and form; then it attempts to evaluate and compare the styles of displaying the topic among the target groups and it also monitors the level of their artistic expression.

Lesser-known late Baroque painters for Osek Monastery

The thesis deals with selected baroque paintings that hang in the cloister of the Cistercians monastery and in the monastery's church of the Virgin Mary's Ascension in Osek. It aspires on approaching the paintings of less known baroque artists of Václav Antonín Lihm, Gerard Angelmayer and Benedikt Kern. It also aspires on setting their artistic production into the situation at the monastery. The first part describes the monastery in Osek as an important clerical centre that has ineffaceably inscribed itself into the landscape of Northern Bohemia as well as into the history of Czech Art by its baroque reconstruction. The thesis then introduces individual painters in their relation to the monastery as well as their other production. What follows is the description of respective paintings from the church and the cloister. Particular attention is paid to the scenes from the life of Saint Bernard of Clairvaux and to other saints of Cistercian Order. Graphic artworks that may be used for paintings are also included. Czechoslovak modernist Illustration of the 1950s and 1960s and Its Influence on the Identities of Contemporary Czech Artists>

A doctoral thesis “Czechoslovakian modernist illustration of the 1950s and 1960s and its influences in the contemporary Czech visual culture” is focused on how a modernist illustration of the 1950s and 1960s influences Czech contemporary authors, especially illustrators. We can witness a particularly strong influence of the above mentioned modernist illustration and visual culture of that period in general among producers employing digital tools and vector graphics served. The thesis contains a historical study which follows developments of the visual language of graphic arts (illustration in particular) in the 1950s and 1960s in relation to fine arts. There is a special focus on a position of the 1960s’ modernist illustration within the applied arts of the period. Biographical study dedicated to illustrator M. Šašek introduce key figure of the (late) modernist period.

This bachelor's thesis is focused on two problems. Principally, there is concerned the historical development of Prague vedutes after an interval of five hundred years approximately (at the beginning of the views until the beginning of the photography). This part comprise the artists engaged in Prague and their works. This drawings and graphics are described in details from the point of view of style as well as in respect of its purpose. The second part is concerned to personality of Václav Hollar. This artist is represented by important biographical data firstly. In following chapters his Prague works are discussed including the general views on Prague as well as the detailed interiors of streets. The works of Václav Hollar is compared with the drawings of other artists.
