Determinants of Industrialization in sub-Saharan Africa and Possibilities for their Development

Sub-Saharan economies need structural changes that would enhance their productivity, increase economic growth and development. In this regard, industrialization plays a key role. Using regression analysis, the aim of this dissertation thesis is to identify main factors (determinants) of industrialization in sub-Saharan Africa. The results indicate that infrastructure and economy size (measured by population size) represent main determinants of industrialization in the region. The thesis also deals with possibilities for development of those determinants. Case study of infrastructure development in Mauritius emphasizes privatization, cooperation with external subjects etc. Negative consequences of small economy size can be overcome by preferential trade agreements (under certain circumstances), as shown by analysis of the three smallest economies in the region.

The perspectives of tourism in the Canary Islands (with special focus on Gran Canaria)

The Bachelor´s thesis is aimed at discussing tourism and analyzing diffferent perspectives of developement in the Canary Islands, namely in the island of Gran Canaria. The goal of this thesis will first be to evaluace the current situation of tourism in Gran Canaria. It is necessary to find the various perpectives of developement for this area, while also assessing strategic proposal plans in order to increase the competitive ability. The theorical section of this thesis is focused on tourism determination, and destination of tourism. In addition, the origin and developement of tourism in the Canary Islands is discussed. The practical part of this thesis is focused on tourism in Gran Canaria; the life cycle is applied to the destination of Gran Canaria, and there is a complete description of the attractions and infrastructure of the destination. Additionally, a SWOT analysis will take place analyzing the strengths, weakeness, opportunities and threats of tourism in Gran Canaria. In the final chapter, suggestions and solutions for tourism in Gran Canaria will be made based on strategic plans from the Canary institutions of tourism.

Jiří Trunda ABSTRACT: Thesis is aimed to issues of lifelong education of preprimary and primary schools headmasters. It is based on theoretical knowledge of the issue, from special literature and other available sources, practical part is based on gathering datas from questionnaire ant its analysis. It is focused on lifelong education concept development, strategical documents, tasks, autority and professional growth of headmasters in the Czech republic and in chosen countries of European union. It states stages and lifelong learning attributes, components and functions of lifelong learning, further education, the importance of situation in the area of lifelong education in the Czech Republic. The aim is to chart the area of school headmasters lifelong learning, the questionnaire is aimed at finding out what attitude the directors have to lifelong learning, and specification of their educational needs and preferences of the most acceptable forms of education. Importance of local entrepreneurship in the field of sport and culture for regional development

My Bachelor´s thesis tackles the problematics of regional development. In the first chapters of my thesis, there are definitions of terms which are closely linked to the problematics. The chapters include terms such as regional policy, regional development and the development of the country which are mainly aimed at improving the citizens´ quality of life which is tightly connected to the development of social togetherness. Social togetherness enables the growth of social and political stability. In the following chapters you find legislative modification concerning regional policy, the method of community and country development and a detailed analysis of culture and sport as factors affecting the region´s growth. The practical part of my thesis analyses the situation in Ruda nad Moravou, specifically, its swimming area which is very important for the community as well as the region. The aim of my work is the characteristics of the business activities mainly in the sports area, its legal and economic problems and also its regional impact. The method of description and the method of quantitative analysis in the form of questionnaire field study are used in the practical part of the thesis. The aim of the methods is to gain enough information on individual drawbacks and problems linked with both the region and the swimming area mentioned above. A suitable solution will be suggested after detecting the problems. The solution should make the swimming area more profitable which will contribute to the development of the whole region.

The impal of subsidies on the area development of LAG Podhorácko

The thesis deals with the contribution of the local action group Podhorácko as an appropriate tool to support the development of rural areas. The goal of the thesis is to evaluate the utilization of European funding grants for Podhorácká region during the years 2007 - 2013. The impact of successful projects on the territory development is also being researched.
The thesis is divided into three parts. The initial part is aimed at the theoretical overview of the issue, the importance of rural areas and at the programmes for the rural areas development. It also contains the characterization of local action groups and the method LEADER. The second part presents the characterization of the local action group Podhorácko and the analysis of MAS region. The evaluation of funding grants for given territory is also included in this part. The last part suggests concrete measures and potential areas for MAS Podhorácko activity during the years 2014 - 2020.
The thesis analyzes the territory of local action group and verifies two hypothesises:
- MAS significantly contributes to the development of the rural areas of the given region
- the utilization of funding grants is effective
On the bases of the results of the statistical method and sociological survey the thesis defines problem areas impeding the future development.

Analysis of the development of the selected villages in relation to the Czech Republic´s entry to EU

This translated thesis is focused on use of tools for local level development.Main goal of thesis is to point out the ability of local self-government and how to strive to realization of goals and sustainable development with help of european and regional politics.This thesis analyses the influences of european politics on villages with population of less than 1000 inhabitants.Problematics delve into the are of specifications of villages,funcions of self-governments in small villages and points out individual factors of influencing the development. Analysis of development of chosen village in correlation with admission of Czech Republic to EU is based on detailed characteristic of area of interest. For better clarity more significant areas were chosen which we can safely judge with the development in certain time period how and if the area became to worse,started to stagnate or became generaly better and what was its cause.In relation of admission if Czech Republic to EU the results will be evaluated if this act had any significant benefit on this specific ocasion.

The Economic Impacts of Regional Development Support

This Bachelor´s thesis entitled The Economic Impact of Supporting Regional Development is concerned with a summary of the problem of unemployment, the employment market, and salary evolution/development in the Louny district. This is one of the key themes of the current and also future economy of the state. The problem of unemployment affects the whole of society and each individual separately.
The objective of this thesis is to identify and evaluate the economic impact of supporting regional development, evaluate the knowledge gained, warn about the problems discovered in the district and deduce recommendations, which would lead to an impovement in the situation in the selected district of Louny.
In the thesis, a summary and evaluation of the current state of selected demographic, socioeconomic and economic aspects of regional development support in the Louny area has been carried out. An important part of the work is the analysis of secondary sources and the analysis of secondary sources data, this data was subjected to quantitative research. During writing the thesis qualitative research was carried out by interviewing. Not the least part was the use of the synthesis of knowledge method and also the evaluation of the theoretical and practical parts of the thesis.
From the results of the survey it is clear that unemployment in the region has been above the national average for a long time. However, recently positive developments have been registered. In order to continue that trend, improved communication between the Employment Office and existing employers, and also attracting new investors to the region is recommended.

Spatial development in city Čáslav before and after year 1989

In my bachelor thesis I investigate influence of the urban development planning before and after year 1989 through analysis of it in Čáslav. In my literature review I introduce signs of urban development planning in the Czech lands before year 1989 in the context of the communist centrally planned economy and consecutive transformation to the capitalistic market economy after year 1989. I describe changes apparent in Čáslav which are based on the differences in the urban development planning before and after year 1989. To precisely collect these changes, I used methods of qualitative research which I describe in detail in the thesis. I chose interviews as my main research method. I interviewed people who participated in the spatial development planning in Čáslav. In my thesis I compared literature on the planning before and after year 1989 and information about changes in the town with people who participated on them and whose perception of them may differ from official statement. The goal of my thesis is to describe the urban development planning in Čáslav before and after year 1989 and perception of differences in it by people who participated in it.

The significance of subsidies in the municipality development (Bobnice, Hořátev, Kovanice, Krchleby)

The main aim of the thesis was to determine the significance of the subsidies for development of the municipality in Kovanice and surrounding municipalities (Bobnice, Hořátev, Krchleby). This thesis was primarily dealing with economy of villages Bobnice, Hořátev, Kovanice and Krchleby. Further, their indebtedness, which was caused by self-financing of large projects for which the subsidy was later received.
The theoretical part is based on the studying of scientific literature (czech and foreign) sources and resources related to this issue. In this section there are defined the basic facts of regional development, compared two programming periods (2007-2013 and 2014-2020) and explained the issue of municipal financing and structure of municipal budgets.
In a secondary analysis, it was found that the efforts of municipalities for their own development implemented by subsidies leads to their indebtedness. Indebtedness of villages grew most in the period 2008 - 2010, when there was a significant increase in the volume of investments co-financed from the regional and national resources.
In the empirical part is described implementation the individual interviews with four mayors. They agree that if the community does not have enough money in the municipal budget, then the loan is inevitable alternative for the realization of projects that help in development of the municipality and its attractiveness. On the other hand, they add that the repayment of principal and interest on the loan, the village development reaches a plateau.

Social and Economic Development of the Municipality Čechtice from the Perspectives of Local Inhabitants

The theme of this thesis is Social and economic development of the municipality Čechtice from the point of view of the citizens of the municipality. The aim of this thesis is to analyse and valorize actual social and economic developement of the municipality Čechtice. The thesis interpets the attitude of the citizens to the up to now developement and actual situation of the municipality. The part of the aim is to suggest the developement project, which will improve the quality of the civilian life. In the first theoretical part, which is devide into the particular chapters, there are described the basic concepts from the sphere of the public administration and regional developement. The second part is practical, there is described the municipality Čechtice also there is analysed the actual social and economic situation in detail and there is suggested the development project according to questionnaries.
