Staňková, Lenka ; Gřivna, Tomáš (advisor) ; Tlapák Navrátilová, Jana (referee)
(EN): Criminal Law and Criminological Aspects of the Rape Crime The rape crime is a very specific crime. Although it belongs to the most painful and traumatic crimes, the public does not often pay enough attention to it, which in practice leads to the fact that rape victims are sometimes overlooked, treated insensitively, or their trauma is often trivialized. We also cannot ignore the fact that the rape crime is accompanied by a number of prejudices, which are for many decades ingrained in our society. All these aspects result in the fact that this crime is characterized by very high latency rate. In my diploma thesis, I dealt with the criminal law and criminological aspects of the rape crime. I was also concerned with the progress in legal regulation of rape, which has changed a lot in past 50 years. My diploma thesis consists of two parts; the criminological part and the criminal law part. The first part contains criminological aspects of the rape crime, especially general introduction into the problem and definitions of the rape according to different theories and scientific approaches, types of rape, ways how the rape is usually committed (so called modus operandi), and one chapter is also dedicated to the rape victims. In this chapter, I focused on men as victims of the rape crime; on...

Křivková, Helena ; Hýbnerová, Stanislava (advisor) ; Bayerová, Monika (referee)
- SEXUAL VIOLENCE IN ARMED CONFLICT - THE ROLE OF THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURTS The purpose of this thesis is to describe the phenomenon of sexual violence against women in armed conflicts and to describe the influence of the international criminal courts in understanding of this phenomenon. Sexual violence appears in almost every armed conflict. Until the establishment of the international criminal courts in the ninetees the issue of sexual violence against women in armed conflict was overlooked. The prohibition of such treatment was existing, for example The Hague Convention or The Geneva Convention, however no efficient sanction mechanism to punish the perpetrators was existing. The violence against woman was moreover understood as her honour attack without any consequences for the community and the society as a whole. It was a private crime. Mass violation of the human rights in the area of Former Yugoslavia and Rwanda made the United Nations to begin with prosecuting and punishing such treatment. Rape and other forms of sexual violence was recognized as a war crime and the crime against humanity on the basis of the judgements of the international criminal courts. Rape can, under certain circumstances, fulfill the fact of the case of genocide. The international criminal courts strongly made...

1 Diploma thesis: Methods of investigation of sexual crimes (selected issues) Key words: Investigation, Rape, Sexual Abuse, Expert Opinion Summary This thesis deals with problematics of sexual crimes investigation. Since the area of investigating sexual crimes is very broad, I have limited the scope of my paper to investigation of the two most frequent types of crime, which are rape and sexual abuse. Regarding the operations usually performed during investigation, I have paid close attention to expert opinions. The purpose of this paper is to stress concrete specifics occuring during investigation, which is discussed throughout the chapters. This chapter also provides statistical tables showing the evolutionary trend in the number of prosecuted and adjudicated sexual criminal acts of rape and sexual abuse between 2000 and 2010. Criminalistic characteristics of sexual criminal acts are looked at in Chapter Two, and Chapter Three presents common ways of committing sexual offences. The chapter describes what is typical of sexual offences committed by adults, and by and on youngsters. Chapter Four characterizes...

This chapter ends with presentation of static data regarding to the crime of rape and their graphical representation. Next chapter consists of three parts and is focused on the offender of the crime of rape, particularly on his personality, typology and prediction of his future development. Following part of the thesis is subdivided into five parts. It deals in great detail with victims of this type of crime especially with primary and secondary victimization caused to them and with all kinds of help that could be provided to them. Considerable scope of this chapter is dedicated to the bill on victims of the crime which could be from the perspective of current legislation and its deficiencies in case of...
Possibilites and limitations of Rorschach's diagnostics in population of pathological sexual aggressors
Androvičová, Renáta ; Boukalová, Hedvika (advisor) ; Šípek, Jiří (referee)
This thesis addresses the possibilities and limitations of Rorschach Inkblot Method in the psychological assessment of preferential rapists. The theoretical part of the thesis summarizes the general characteristics of paraphilias, introduces the contemporary theories on sexual aggression and rape, and presents selected studies related to the use of RorschachInkblot Method (using Exner's Comprehensive System) in the research of paraphilias. The empirical part focuses on my research project. I have theoretically deduced variables and composites and subsequently compared them with the normative values the CS reference populations. I have also analysed the number of criterions of the Banality Profile (of psychopathy), which were fulfilled by the sample of the sexual offenders. Then I have analysed the sequence of the clusters according to the most prominent key variable among the subjects that were the most clinically disturbed. I have found statistically significant differences between the rapists and the normative population in several variables. The most prominent ones were associated with the interpersonal perception, and mediation. I have also showed that the psychopathy profile (Banality Profile) is only partially suitable for characterization of preferential rapists. Through the analysis of the...

Táborská, Julie ; Stroukal, Dominik (advisor) ; Brožová, Dagmar (referee)
In my thesis I explore the impact of unemployment on a number of rapes in The Czech Republic. I use annual panel data of The Czech Republic for districts and regions for the period 2005 - 2011. I want to prove the hypothesis about positive correlation between the number of rapes and the unemployment rate. The second question is whether this dependence is more significant in the case of unemployment rate of men. The analysis was based on panel data by ordinary least squares. I found a positive relationship between basic variables in terms of district but not in the case of regions. I did not find significant effect of the unemployment rate of men.
