Multilayer J2EE web application

This thesis provides compact solutions and shows process, how it is possible to implement Information system which automatically tests students projects. The use of J2EE technology is required in assignment of this thesis. Using of other technologies depends on which way of the assignment´s solution was choosen. In the part one of the thesis an option of technologies used for the system development is implemented. The reason why used application server, database server and CMS solution were chosen is given here. The choice of CMS applicatin is reasoned in more detailed way. A building tool Ant and Junit package are introduced here as well as cascade styles and other technologies used in an application. Ant was used to build a module and students projects. JUnit package is available to test classes. In the second part of the thesis the application is designed. It is showed here how to create a web module, what components the module has to contain and how to implement required function of the system with contribution of classes, library OpenCms and Java. The second part is divided into three chapters. The first shows system workflow, which defines the way of work with application according to defined role in system .The second of them is focused on the web module and its parts. It introduces application pages designed for registration, projects assignment, projects and scripts upload and navigation pages. The three chapter is aimed at a web content. It introduces a data files and HTML output pages. Other parts of the thesis are focused on the safety of the application and the way of communication with Jplag detection of plagiarism.
Long-term Preservation of Web Content

This work describes the long term preservation of digital documents, particularly websites. The aim of this work is to give an explanation of the long term preservation, to define the differences between various approaches and to describe long term preservation of web content possibilities such as migration or emulation. It also explains risks and challenges of these strategies. It discusses new problems which the long term preservation aim leads to. It also describes possible solutions as well as it describes the situation in selected significant foreign institutions. The main aim of this work is detailed analysis of long term preservation strategy in theNational Library of the Czech Republic, which is the only institution engaged in the preservation of Czech web. The process of data preparation, metadata creation and data storing in the long term repository of the Czech National Library is thoroughly described, including examples and their explanation. Responsive Design Usage Scenarios in Application Design

The thesis compares the most frequently used approaches to presenting electronic content in a way that is optimized for new device classes, namely smartphones and tablets, in order to enable a more effective decision-making process concerning content strategies accenting modern electronic channels. The thesis describes the historic context resulting in new needs in the area of content presentation. It compares the responsive design approach to traditional web design and mobile applications. The focus is put on detailed analysis of various responsive design aspects including the technical basis for responsive web design, economical aspects, the needs of tailoring the design process to fit with responsive web design and implementation in portal solutions, among others. The original part of the thesis contains a practical demonstration of responsive design implementation on top of an existing traditionally designed web property, namely the ČSOB.cz homepage. Basic criteria to consider when deciding about responsive web design adoption are also included.

Content strategy: preparation and designing web content for the organization

The work deals with the content strategy, methods and techniques how to prepare, design and create web content according to established goals. The theoretical part defines role of the content strategy, introduces methods, content life cycle and potential benefits and outputs of the content strategy in its phases: preparation, analysis, creation, evaluation and content management. Work also discussed the interaction with other fields of web design and legal limits, which affect online content in the Czech Republic. The main objective of this diploma thesis is to design new web content strategy for organization. After describing the initial situation and goals, mentioned methods are used to the systematic management of web content. Thanks to the results of this content strategy (target group definition, competitive content analysis, existing content inventory, keyword analysis, information architecture, style guide, content plan, content model, creation process and content management), readers get the guidance, which can inspire them in their practice.
Content and position of copywriting in web life-cycle

Main purpose of this thesis based on analysis, searching and synthesis of accessible sources is to describe web copywriter's role concerning content, to position copywriting into web life-cycle and to prove efficiency of copywriting by its application on specific web site. Thesis' contribution, except from outlining important -- but still unappreciated -- web copywriter's role, is to integrate web copywriting into separate phases of web development life-cycle. Practical part of thesis is beneficial as an illustrative sample of application web copywriting's principles onto existing web site. Thesis is divided into four chapters (except introduction and conclusion). In first chapter, Internet culture and its specialities concerning web copywriting are described, followed by detailed specification of principles and characteristics of web copy in terms of its structure and content construction. The second chapter is dedicated to binding web copywriting to rapidly growing marketing tool called search engine optimalization. The chapter also includes description of content and qualification aspect of SEO copywriter's role. The third chapter explains integration of web copywriting activities into web life-cycle's process model.
