Education of older adults in the area in of new media

In the paper characterized were chosen, most important determinants of educating seniors in the matter of new media. Learning and teaching of seniors were depicted through "non-formal system" created by Universities of Third Age (U3A). Actions of teacher and adult students connected with the effective learning about possibilities connected with new media discussed were in following dimensions: social changes, transformations of education of people in late adulthood, individual features of seniors and institutional and theoretical solutions in the matter of andragogy and educational gerontology. The book also contains a chapter in which described were transformations of society by new media and causes and results of digital exclusion among seniors. The crucial part of the paper is a practical answer to the question, how to educate seniors in "non-formal education system" in the matter of electronic media? To achieve this, presented was a complex methodical proposition derived from andragogical and geragogical theories with a reference to didactic practice of the author in computer sections of universities of third age. Seniors education on the example of theproject Third Age

This thesis presents senior education. Due to the increasing number of older people in our society, senior education has become important way how to keep them in an active lifestyle. The beginning of this thesis is devoted to the theoretical bases of senior education. There are explained terms like aging, old age, senior and introduced fundamental involution changes that relate to senior. The main part of this work is focused on the project Third Age, which has been implemented in the City Library in Louny. The implementation of the project joined in the region several hundred people and because of it the project became the largest such project in the district of Louny. The project is a successful example of good practice addressing seniors' education at the regional level. Empirical investigation finished off the main passage of the thesis. It is aimed at finding the motivation to education and its potential barriers that they perceive the project participants. The empirical part of the thesis was carried out by questionnaire survey. ELPIDA o.p.s. - Life in the information age - impact of the cycle on graduates

My work is based on cooperation with the non-profit organization Elpida o.p.s, which offers education to the elderly in various fields. One of the areas is media literacy. For the third year in a row, this company has been organizing a cycle called Life in the Information Age, which aims to deepen the knowledge and skills of the elderly in today's complicated world of information through lectures led by experts. The reason for choosing the topic of this work was mainly the fact that this comprehensive project in the field of media literacy's education of the elderly is absolutely unique in the Czech Republic. The main research question was whether graduates of this cycle are more media literate than the elderly in the general population. To answer this question, I compiled a questionnaire, which in its knowledge section contained questions that examined the orientation of the respondents in key areas of media literacy. Data collection took place in two phases, first I had the questionnaire completed by the graduates of the course Life in the Information Age, then I sent the same questionnaire to the selected elderly from the general population. Educational needs of elderly and their motivation for education

The Diploma thesis titled Educational needs of elderly and their motivation for education has been aimed to provide an analysis of the current needs, interests and motivation in the area of education of elderly and introduce this issue to the public. The theoretical part of the thesis provides a brief overview of the basic terms and findings related to the topic of seniors' education. It comprises a description of opportunities, specific features and aspects of the issue, including existing and potential barriers. Amongst other things, this chapter emphasises a society-wide significance of the seniors' education, considering, in particular, the recent demographic trends. The thesis outlines future challenges, difficulties and possible solutions associated with education of the respective social group. Further, the theoretical part focuses on the phenomenon of motivation. It sums up basic findings gained to date, defines individual types of motivation as well as the function and role motivation plays in terms of participation in further education of adults, particularly seniors. The typical Czech graduates are well- educated and prepared to teach English to the age-group 6-19. The theoretical part explains the basic concepts of geragogy and related areas. Analysis of conceptual framework of educational management in peer-reviewed pedagogical journals in 2000-2017

This diploma thesis deals with the analysis of the conceptual framework of education management in peer-reviewed journals. The theoretical part is focused on the summary of the existing knowledge about all contexts related to the field of education management from the point of view of the time perspective. It draws on both foreign and domestic sources. Attention will also be paid to the current issue of terminologically uninterrupted important educological terms related to the management of education. Further chapters will focus on educational theories, leadership perspectives in education, lifelong learning, adult education and senior education. The research part is focused on the content analysis of the Czech peer- reviewed pedagogical journals Pedagogika, Pedagogická orientace and Studia paedagogica. Its aim is to analyze how the conceptual framework of education management in the years 2000-2017 developed in them. Based on the analysis, answers will be sought on the areas of management of education and the subject to which the most attention is paid, which topics are most frequently addressed in relation to adult education and senior citizens, how the frequency of these topics has evolved, and whether there are some common patterns among the magazines analyzed. Senior's View on the Use of Information and Communication Technologies in Practical Life

The development of the imformation and communication technologies is at the contemporary time a very actual theme. The object of this bachelor work is to find out the senior´s taking of the information and communication technologies and their using in the practical life. The theoretical part of this work is formed by three basicly chapters, concerning the problems of the age, growing old and defining of the therm senior. Also are they intending on the senior´s education, going nowadays forward, involving practiculary the Virtually university of the third age. The last chapter is intending on the information and communication technologies, on its characterication and the senior´s reference to these technologies. In the empiric part of the work occures the work destination, that has to find out, what is the senior´s way to the information and communication technologies the main research question: "What way are the seniors to identify with the using of information and communication technologies?" To get the most exact answere of the main research question with the next secondary questions were the ground for the interview. Like the best for this acivity was chosen the questions research strategy. To get the data helped the asking method and the fast phase was the ahead research and then the proper one. The research group formed the students of the Virtually University of the third age, elected by designed quota election. From the research resulted the good senior´s orientation concernant the information and communication technologies terms and they are using all kinds of it daily. They accept the advantage of the open informations, of the communication and the rate of speed, which these technologies are desposing, on the other side the seniors are speaking about the disadvantage of the social isolation. Nowadays they want to keep these technologies because they are standing for them the certain relieve in their life, but they don´t want to prolonge the study because the také their knowledge for safficient of this domain.
Selected questions of care for the elderly in terms of social inclusion

The diploma thesis is focused on senior's education and aims to find out whether seniors are interesed in education and whether this interest is influenced by the age or financial situation of the individual. The whole work is primarily based on the context of the National Action Plan for Positive Aging for the period 2013-2017, where social inclusion of seniors focuses on the areas of ensuring and protecting the human rights of elderly people, lifelont learning, healthy aging, a quality environment for the elderly, volunteering and intergenerational cooperation, employement of older people and care for the most fragile seniors with limited self-sufficiency. The thesis was divided into a theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part are described in detail the necessary terms related to the given issue and the practical part includes the chosen target of work, hypothesis, methodology, which subsequently tests these hypotheses, the results of the survey and the final discussion.
