Generation differences in work attitudes and diversity management

This thesis focuses on generation difference between work attitude and diversity management. The aim of this work is to describe generation differences between work attitudes and subsequently implement diversity management as a tool to improve labour productivity in working groups of diverse ages. Demographic changes lead to extension of the average life expectancy and the resulting ageing population. An ageing population has an impact on economics, as well as the social sphere. People will go into retirement later than they used to and multiple generations will encounter each other at one workplace. Diversity management should meet some of generation individual requirements to encourage their work satisfaction that could lead to higher work efficiency. Companies focused on the diversity of their work force will profit from higher competitiveness and achieve the label of socially responsible company. Data from the "Aktér 2008" research were analysed using secondary analysis. This analysis found 5 areas in which generation differences appeared. These differences were: wage value, career growth, security of work, variety of work and personal and work life balance. Diversity Management

Thesis called Diversity management deals with the application of Diversity Management in an organization. The main aim of the thesis identify elements of Diversity Management and evaluate the implementation of the concept of diversity workplace in the Czech organizations with regard to the factors examined diversity. Attention is focused on gender diversity and diversity of age. The thesis is dividend into two parts. In the theoretical part are clearly presented the basic concepts: diversity, Diversity Management, gender and age diversity, including theoretical analysis of the issue of Diversity Management. The analytical part of the thesis deals with the factors studied gender and age Diversity Management in the organization XY. Gradually this is in part characterized by, the profile of the organization, its organizational structure and assessed the current situation of the concept of diversity. Given the fact that XY has not yet entered into the implementation of the concept of Diversity Management, in conclusion suggested appropriate recommendations for this organization. The proposed recommendations arising the results of the survey of employees, individual interviews and group interviews with leading the organization.
The introduction of Age management concept in selected companies

Age management is closely related to professional abilities and their maintaining trough advanced age. Thesis examines topic from point of view of corporations and its goal is to analyze and amend existing recommendations for implementation of the concept in Czech Republic. In order to achieve this goal, companies that engage in Age management implementation were addressed. Interviews were conducted in HR departments of three major corporations. This revealed that the concept is not widely used in Czech Republic at this time. There are no complex strategies and age management is being applied sporadically. There is a great effort to maintain good health of employees but it was also found out that awareness rising is insufficient. Testing using a method of Work Ability Index is being implemented and strategic application of the concept is being prepared.
Age diversity - promoting equal opportunities in RWE

The topic of the thesis entitled "Age diversity - promoting equal opportunities in RWE" is an analysis of diversity management tools specific to the company from 2011 to 2012, defining age management and proposing an action plan of age diversity in the company for the years 2013 and 2014. The theoretical part of the thesis defines the basic concepts needed to deal with the issues such as equal opportunities, diversity, age management. The thesis includes a description of the historical development of diversity management, including the legislative framework in the EU and the Czech Republic. Age management is the management with regard to the age and abilities of employees and, as such, is clearly related to demographic changes of society. The thesis summarizes the forecasts of demographic development provided by ČSÚ, indicating that the demographic situation in the Czech Republic leads to the aging of population. In the practical part of the thesis is an analysis of the project "Diversity" of RWE Group on 31 December 2012, particularly with regard to the application of tools for age diversity, analysis of diversity of the labor force, and the definition of a job potential. Analysis results are compared with those of selected companies in age management. Based on the findings an action plan of age diversity of the RWE Group for next period is designed. The aim of the thesis is to verify the positive benefits of age diversity for the RWE Group in the Czech Republic.
