PATTERN PAINT ROLLER LAB

My work focuses on the technique of pattern paint rollers and their historical context. Above all, the work presents an opportunity for me to engage with a phenomenon that was very popular in its time and to explore its potential beyond traditional perceptions. Through a series of tests, I experimented with creating new designs and explored the possibilities of this technology, which included, for example, tests of the materiality and size of the roller matrix or the transfer of the decor from its typical interior setting to an exterior environment.
Písmová rodina Pagella: rozšírenie o skript Hangul

This bachelor thesis is focused on the extension of the existing font family TeX Gyre Pagella with Korean glyphs defined by Unicode Hangul jamo blocks. In the theoretical part is initially discussed the issue of the Korean language and its alphabet – Hangul. Later, the concept of the font, its formats and their use in the TeX system is described. And last but not least is an analysis of the fonts available on the market. In the practical part is written the design and construction of characters together with a description of the font creation process in the FontForge program in the regular format. As a conclusion, there is a presentation of created characters divided into blocks Hangul Jamo, Hangul Jamo for Compatibility, Hangul Jamo Extended-A and Hangul Jamo Extended-B.
Modern Typography in Art Education Project at Primary School

Diploma thesis Modern typography in art education project at primary school deals with writing and letters during art lessons with pupils at primary schools. The thesis is divided in two parts. Theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with the history of this matter. Important art movements are presented, which deal with typography and the names of Czech as well as foreign modern typographists. The practical part deals with project based art lessons as such and a thematic serie called "Světem písmen a znaků" where the theory is applies to single lessons which were presented to pupils at a primary school. The thesis should mainly emphasize the importance of typography in art education and similar activities.
Aleš Najbrt and his standing of Czech graphic design

The bachelor thesis consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part mainly focuses on the personality of the Czech graphic designer and typographer Aleš Najbrt, especially his contribution to Czech graphical design and puts it in the context of the time. Further it shortly describes the history of graphical design with focus on the poster as a form of promotional graphics. The third chapter of this part is the history of Czech typography from the sixties of the twentieth century further. The practical output of the bachelor's thesis is the creation of an author's font and subsequently its exemplary use on a poster. The practical part contains mainly the described procedures of creating a font and a promotional poster.

The thesis Magazine Raut, why is life of graphically exceptional magazines not a bed of roses? describes in detail the magazine which was published at the beginning of the 1990s. It gives a detailed description of different elements of extraordinary layout of the magazine Raut. Its uniqueness comes not only from an unusual format of magazine but also from generous work with images and typography which broke the usual rules for magazine production. Unusualness of the magazine Raut also concern the focus of the magazine which overlaps toward national undertone. For a deeper understanding for the magazine Raut is necessary to put the magazine into a context of the 1990s that was crucial for its formation. Due to the exclusivity of the magazine Raut the press responded to it in different ways Czech and foreign and the thesis compiles media image of the magazine Raut. The thesis also includes an interview with Managing Editor and Art Director of the magazine Raut Ales Najbrt. Only five issues of the magazine Raut were published and its demise was due to several factors. The conclusion of the thesis is based on those factors and the conclusion can be generalized to apply to any other form of magazines with exceptional or unusual graphic design.

in English: This bachelor thesis deals with the Most Beautiful Czech Book Contest press evaluations between 1966 and 1990, also regarding the overall quality of Czechoslovak book design, typography and polygraphy. Summarization of the historical development is carried out by analyzing relevant specialized and nonspecialized periodicals. The work is divided into theoretical and historical context of the issue, the analysis itself and a brief biographical introduction to Oldřich Hlavsa, Milan Hegar, Jiří Rathouský and Adolf Hoffmeister, the four masters of Czechoslovak book design and typography.

The thesis focuses on problem of authorship of the Internet content. It considers the question whether we can analyze the artwork purely as a closed structure of the symbols or whether it is necessary to take work as a broader structure. The first part of the thesis shows the Internet in general and its specifics it as a medium. The second part is devoted to the problem of authorship. It explains traditional view of Nelson Goodman, who examined the authenticity of artwork with regard to the internal arrangement of the elements structure of the object. The third part shows the later theories inconsistent with the views of Nelson Goodman, views of different contemporary authors who present the changes of authorship aspects in the environment which is under constant development, quickly sharing ideas and resources. New theories suggest to look beyond the authorship of the artwork domain, apply broader focous. The conclusion provides a synthesis of these views.
Typography of web design

Typography is one of the most important elements of web design and marketing. Good typography makes web design more appealing, which is important for readers in evaluating titles and the quality of text. The aim of this thesis is to provide a characterization of good and bad typography. I will use this characterization to identify modern typographical trends in a digital background. In the theoretical part, I will describe the basic features of typography. In the practical part, I will distinguish appealing typography and visual smog, and find specific examples demonstrating typographical trends in web design.

PhDr. Martin Raudenský, Ph.D. Abstrakt: This thesis deals with the creation of graphical worksheet (author of the book) in the form of illustrations associated with the text that will serve as an educational tool in institutions such as art galleries and museums with similar functionality as the gallery animation. Books (worksheet) are designed for production intended for children, with the parents, adolescents, or even random visitors. I created a variant of the worksheet has drafted according to the age of the users. Author book (worksheet) applies to a gallery and exhibition occurring in it. Work packages are factually created in two variants - package for a family with children or a group of younger pupils in colored graphic design and enhanced content for creating things. A simplified package for older visitors gallery, only with a pencil, which is even less economically demanding. I passed the necessary information and data from institutions created books (worksheets) and then the whole action applied to pupils and casual visitors gallery.
