The influence of social networks on the idea of ​​a healthy lifestyle among young girls

Michaela Soukupová Title: The influence of social networks on the idea of a healthy lifestyle among young girls Objectives: The main goal of the thesis is to find out and then describe how social networks influence young girls in selected factors of a healthy lifestyle. The secondary goal of the thesis is to find out what is the positive and negative influence of social networks on selected lifestyle factors among young girls. Methods: A quantitative research method (internet questionnaire) was chosen for the thesis due to a broader focus and the need for more respondents, combined with a qualitative method (semi-structured interview). 50 female respondents aged 15-18 took part in the internet questionnaire, a 17-year-old minor and an 18-year-old adult took part in the semi-structured interview. The survey was created in the Survio program and placed on the social networks Instagram and Facebook. The interview took place online via the Skype platform. Results: 50 respondents aged 15-18 participated in the questionnaire and 2 girls aged 17 and 18 were involved in the semi-structured interview. Teenage girls as a specific user group in libraries

Master thesis called "Teenage Girls as a Specific User Group in Libraries" is focusing on users of a library between the ages of 12 - 19 years and on the design of library space for this age group. The theoretical part of the thesis aims to provide the everyday library practice with the basis for creating space for teens, including marketing, staff, services and collections. The theoretical part also focuses on the physiological, psychological, emotional and sociological characteristics of teenage girls. The situation in the Czech Republic is also introduced. With regard to the fact, that the library services and spaces for the teenagers in the Czech Republic are at their very beginnings, the examples from abroad, Germany in particular, are introduced. The practical part is realized by means of a questionnaire survey and interviews. Reflection of a girl'sworld in the magazine Bravo Girl!

The main aim of the graduation thesis "Reflection of a girl's world in the magazine Bravo Girl!" using Critical Discourse Analysis is to identify ideology hidden in the texts of the mentioned magazine and to analyze all forms of the ideology "us" against "them". The theoretical part focuses on the significant concepts related to a text and its analysis and simultaneously deals with social and psychological aspects of gender socialization process. Special attention is paid to topics such as family, school, friends, new technologies and media. The author finds them to be a dominant source of influence in the life of teenage girls. The analytical part presents a girl's world from the Bravo Girl! point of view and inspects the language used by girls and the magazine. It attempts to estimate to which extent the magazine through language reflects values, attitudes and priorities of teenage girls and what is the role of the magazine in this.
