Application of method Competitive Intelligence on the building industry

The main theme of the thesis is the application of methods of information and knowledge-based disciplines - Competitive Intelligence on the building industry of the Czech Republic. The first part provides a comprehensive overview of theoretical information which are necessary to describe Competitive Intelligence. From the outset, it gradually forms detailed description about the entire field as far as detailed procedures with the application of various analytical methods, in the form of formalized definitions of Competitive Intelligence. The most common methods which are listed below in particular are SLEPT analysis, SWOT analysis, an analysis of five porter forces, BCG matrix, and others. The practical part of work is an application of process and methods of Competitive Intelligence on the Czech building market. This part gradually specifies individual steps of analysis (definition of objectives, procedures, identification and exploitation of information resources, etc.) and presents its final output, which is suitably complemented with a description of information resources. Chapter concludes the summary of the main trends and factors involved in the building industry, which complements the recommendations for the building companies to increase their competitiveness. There is also important summary and characteristics of selected information sources.

Financial analysis of Metrostav, a.s.

As a subject of my work, I chose the financial analysis of the company Metrostav a.s., which belongs among the most known and the biggest firms in the building industry in the Czech Republic. The aim of my work is to analyse financial effectivness of the company between 2003 and 2007 and to compare it with its competition.

Financial analysis of construction company KBO,s.r.o.

This diploma work focuses on financial analysis of construction company KBO, s.r.o., in which I have been working for two years and a half. The aim of this work is to evaluate financial health of this company and to show the main elements influencing its development. Further, there are proposed possible solutions and direction which the company should take. The first part is focused on theory and explanation of some applied methods. Causes of wrong economical development of this company are revealed in the application part of this work. Also, there was conducted comparison between traditionally applied methods and less applied methods in practise (e.g. Pollak method). In conclusion, there results some possible steps needed to improve the current situation.

Finanční analýza společnosti Konstruktis, a.s.

Bakalářská práce na téma Finanční analýza společnosti Konstruktis, a.s. má za úkol zhodnotit celkovou výkonnost stavebního podniku v letech 1999-2004 s využitím nástrojů finanční analýzy. Při práci byly použity rozvahy, výkazy zisků a ztrát, cash flow a výroční zprávy za dané roky. Jednotlivé metody jsou zde rozebrány jak z teoretického tak z praktického pohledu. Výsledkem práce je zhodnocení vývoje finanční stability společnosti.

Finanční analýza společnosti GEOSAN GROUP a.s.

Tato finanční analýza podává celkovou zprávu o stavu společnosti Geosan group a.s. a jejím ekonomickém postavení, všeobecně hodnotí společnost z externího pohledu. Jde o posouzení výkonnosti této stavební společnosti pomocí analýz základních účetních výkazů jako je rozvaha, výkaz o cash flow, výsledovka, výroční zpráva. K externí analýze finančního zdraví společnosti byly použity známé finanční ukazatele. Důraz byl kladen na analýzu základních vývojových tendencí v čase. Byly použity poměrové ukazatele, jež pokrývají veškeré složky výkonnosti podniku. Byla provedena nejen dílčí, ale i souhrnná analýza, dále analýza cash flow. Další informace poskytlo srovnání v rámci odvětví a porovnání s konkrétním stavebním podnikem.

Export and investing opportunities in Ukraine

Cílem práce je popis exportních a investičních příležitostí na Ukrajině, které se při jejím vývoji v roce 2008 pro zahraniční zájemce nabízí. Práce obsahuje zhodnocení hlavních oblastí ukrajinského trhu s určením jejich současné rentability a možného budoucího potenciálu. Příležitosti jsou zde doplněny o poznatky několika zahraničních firem, které na Ukrajině působí, a dále charakteristiku vlastního investičního klimatu.
