One of the main features of the energetic policy of the European Union is the increasing percentage of renewable resources of energy. It is expected that by 2020 renewable resources will have increased to 20% in the European Union and renewable resources should reach 8% of the gross electric power consumption in the CR. Nowadays there are more technologies for energy production using renewable resources. Solar power stations are not widely used in the Czech Republic. Why is solar energy, if compared with other resources, used at the very minimum? Are there any economic conditions for the use of solar energy in the Czech Republic, considering the present technologies? Is that a perspective renewable resource of energy?
