Socially Therapeutic Workshop for People with Mental Disorder

This bachelor´s thesis deals with the topic of socially therapeutic workshop for people mental disorder. The purpose of the socially therapeutic workshop which serves as ambulatory social service is a long-term regular support aimed at the development of working habits and skills through social working therapy based on the objectives determined for the patients within their individual planning. The objective of this bachelor´s thesis was to determine what ways are used to provide social service of socially therapeutic workshop (its aims, the mission of the services, terms and principles, realisation of the service, benefits of the service for the users, the role, and activities of the social worker). The service is intended for the clients with mental diseases in Fokus, registered association, in České Budějovice. The qualitative research strategy was chosen for the methodical section and the method of questioning technique using semi-structured interview was used. The method of open coding was used to evaluate the results, the method - pencil, a sheet of paper. Three mind maps created in Mindmaster application were prepared to demonstrate the results. Four clients of the social therapeutic workshop and four social workers of this service took part in the interviews. It is obvious from the results of the research that the social workers as well as clients consider the obtaining of social contacts and provision of psychological support, which is important for the clients, to be the greatest benefit of this service. The workshop provides a cooking, a memory training, support groups, a literary club for the clients that help them to gain competences for everyday life. This bachelor´s thesis may be used as a feedback for the social therapeutic workshop where the research was realised. Furthermore, this thesis may be used as a source of information for the general public on how the socially therapeutic workshops for people with mental disorder are operated.
Social therapeutic workshop as a tool to support the independence of clients with mental disabilities

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to present how a social therapeutic workshop supports the independence of people with mental disabilities. The thesis characterizes the social service - social therapeutic workshop, its base in the law, basic activities, the primary goal and its main support tool in the form of occupational therapy. Mental disability and its conceptual definition, etiology and classification are also introduced. At the same time, it describes the specifics of people with mental disabilities, which significantly affect the acquisition of work habits and skills. The thesis defines independence, individualization and socialization. Based on the established criteria of independence, three case reports of clients of a selected social therapeutic workshop are presented.
Contribution of the Social Therapy Workshop - The Sunflower Association - for the Life of People with disability

This bachelor´s work deals with the description and problems of a social-therapeutic workshop - the Sunflower Association. The main aim was to describe functioning of this workshop and its contribution to disabled people´s life. Problems regarding the work with the disabled, types of disabilities, possibilities of activization and inclusion of disabled people in the frame of social therapeutic workshop were the theoretical sources of this work. The method of a qualitative research in the form of semistructuralized dialogue with the workers from the Sunflower Association was chosen as the main method for this work. The questions were aimed to the rate of contribution of this social therapeutic workshop to disabled people, to the staff´s experiences and to the gained skills of clients. Questions also focused on the reasons influencing the workers´s choice of work in this association and the reasons for clients´ attendance of this workshop. Research group was made up of seven professionals.
Use of Ergotherapy for People with Mental disabilities in Social therapeutic workshop

The bachelor's thesis deals with ergotherapy for people with mental disabilities in social therapeutic workshop. It is focused on mental disability, social therapeutic workshop characterization and above all it shows ergotherapy as one of possible ways of working with people with disability. New skill acquisition in the workshop contributes to the development and preservation of abilities of people with mental disabilities. That also helps to improve their quality of life. The main target of the bachelor thesis is to present a specific therapeutic program for selected clients focuses on development of cognitive functions and fine motor skills. At described cases of two clients with moderate mental disability it was shown how different can be the benefits of ergotherapy treatment. For one client the ergotherapy meant rather meaningful time spending and fine motor skills development and for the other more likely time to learn technological procedures which can be used in the future employment. This concrete case confirmed the necessity of long-term care for mentally disabled clients to have enough time to teach them necessary skills. An evaluation of work efficiency in Portus, an organisation for people with mental disabilities

This diploma thesis is to acquaint with people with intellectual disability. Basicaly it deals with terminology associated with intelectual disability, definitions, types of intellectual disability, symptoms and causes. One of the chapters is devoted to the principles of communication of people with mental disabilities and auxiliary communication techniques. Next it focuses on Portus organization, which has been working with this target group for over 20 years. It provides several social services, about which we gathered basic information and based them on the law on social services. The last chapter in the theoretical part is devoted to the burnout syndrome, which is in the opinion of helping professions and in social work, not least, a more common phenomenon than we can imagine. The investigation itself took place in the above- mentioned organization, where I distributed questionnaires on satisfaction with the services to several groups of respondents. In the practical part, I evaluated these questionnaires and evaluated them with other services. The evaluation showed that the clients are satisfied with the support provided and the employees and guardians (family members) perceive the situation in a very similar way. The Role of Social Worker in The Process of Support in Finding and Keeping a Job for Clients with Mental Illness.

The task of social worker during the process of getting and keeping jobs for people with mental diceases. The theme of my bachelor work is the task of social worker during the process of getting and keeping jobs for people with mental diseases. This work is focused on workers and clients of Focus Organisation Tábor. My target was to find out, how the workers from this organisation are successful with looking for jobs and as well keeping jobs with the help of special program: The program of supportive jobs. Theoretical part could be focused on work and relationship between workers and clients, it could be focused on some explanation of terms like mental disease, supportive job, working rehabilitation, socially therapist workshop and counselling. It should be explained legislative according to it the work of Focus and as well as supportive jobs are organized. In practical part I should find out how social workers fulfil thier targets to look for jobs for people with mental diseases.Used methods are observation, questionaire and dialog. This work should help social workers to find out the best way how to get and keep jobs for mentally ill people and as well as detection of real mental people employment in Focus Tábor with real experiance of social workers from this organisation.
The Importance of the Social Therapeutic Workshop for Integrating Clients in their Future Activity in the Sheltered Workshop

This Bachelor´s thesis deals with the importance of the social therapeutic workshop for integrating clients in their future activity in the sheltered workshop (sheltered workplace). The main objective is to map necessary work skills of clients for their transfer to the sheltered workshop (sheltered workplace). The thesis consists of the theoretical part, which contains literary information, and the research part where the established objectives are being evaluated. The chapter named "Current State" is focussed on the target group of persons in the social therapeutic workshop and the sheltered workshop (sheltered workplace), and further there is mentioned the importance of work and self-fulfilment for people with the health handicap. There is described the concept of social services, their characteristics and the proper definition of the social rehabilitation and the social therapeutic workshop. Next chapter deals with the work rehabilitation directed at the sheltered workshop (sheltered workplace). And consecutively, the attention is aimed at the social worker and workers in the sphere of social services. The last chapter is focussed on the family in the context of their care for the child with the health handicap from the point of view of the family, and the cooperation with them from the point of view of professional workers. The research part established the following objective: To identify necessary work habits of clients in the process of the social rehabilitation which they obtain in the social therapeutic workshop. The main research question "What are the necessary work skills of clients for their transfer to the activity in the sheltered workshop?" was further divided into 5 partial research questions. The qualitative research strategy was used for obtaining information. Data were collected by means of the questionnaire, in particular the technique of the semistructured interview. The research sample was made up with the method of the intentional (purpose) selection which defined particular criteria for integration in the research sample. There were made up two research samples involving clients of the social therapeutic workshop and professional leading workers of the social therapeutic workshop and the sheltered workshop (sheltered workplace). The obtained information was processed with the method of coding and consequent categorization. The results are mentioned in the subheads corresponding with the partial research questions. The research shows that clients come to the social therapeutic workshop in order to use their time meaningfully and to train new skills which they can use both at work and in their daily life. The big motivation is also the team and related social integration. The family represents irreplaceable role which includes support in everyday activities and the feeling of security. The professional leading workers consider the social therapeutic workshop to be the very important first stage of the job. They see the advantage of the social therapeutic workshop in providing possibility to map knowledge and skills of individuals who try to move from the social service to the sheltered workshop.

The possibilities of using a story in a correlation at work with people traumatized by brain injury

This thesis contains two parts, theoretical one and practical one. The first part is mostly about a theoretical definition. It is mainly focused on following terms: story, life story, narrative approach, trauma, acquired disablement. Attention is paid to a target group (people with a brain trauma), they are also important in the practical part later. The thesis mentions the most frequent occasions of a brain injury/damage and their potencial consequences. Each information is connected with the main topic of this thesis. The organisation, where stories were used as a part of Social Therapy Workshop, is briefly introduced at the end of the first part. In the practical part some findings are devolved into a profession. The stories, which were collected during the direct work with clients of Social Therapy Workshop, are the most significant texts of this part. There is a space for client's particular life stories, they are analyzed than. The personal topic of each client is highlighted and the thesis provides various interpretations. The summary of the whole cooperation is situated at the end of this part. It includes links to process of individual consultations and individual plan fulfilment.
