Gender differences in the creation of social capital of territorial communities in the district Tábor

The presented work deals with the topic of gender differences in the creation of social capital of territorial communities in the Tábor district. The main goal of the research is the analysis and evaluation of the process of social capital formation with a focus on gender differences among actors of the local political elite in the Tábor district. The assumption of differences during the formation of social capital of actors from the perspective of gender is based on a review and discussion of general starting points. The main concepts addressed in the first part of the work are the concept of gender itself and its formation during life, the related gender stereotypes in society, social capital and its formation, forms, or measurement. Last but not least, the work deals with the discussion of women's political participation in the Czechia. In the empirical part of the work, I will first focus on achieving the partial goal of the work, namely the analysis and evaluation of women's representation in municipal politics in the Tábor district, emphasizing the explanation of conditions that are crucial for women's entry into municipal politics. Human and Social Capital in the Czech Agriculture

The purpose of this diploma thesis is to analyze the human and the social capital in regions of Czech Republic. The first part of the paper consists of disruption and overview of the human and the social capital. It also contains the introduction of countryside areas and their connection with agriculture. The second part is focused on analyzing data from the questionnaire. Those data describe levels of the human and the social capital in agriculture in Czech Republic and differences between regions.

Milan Tuček Abstract This cumulative thesis contains three papers focused on analysis of inequality of educational opportunity (IOE) and limited educational and social mobility in the Czech Republic. The first article analysis effects of parent's cultural, social, economic and human capital in different educational transitions. In accordance with the theory of effectively maintained inequality (EMI), the parental capitals and social status play the biggest role in accessing secondary education with GCE (high school with diploma) which is precondition to tertiary education. However, detailed analysis shows that poverty and low skills (HC) of parents have biggest effect in early phases of education whereas social, cultural capital and wealth of the parents are drivers of inequality in later transitions. Hence, the EMI theory is not in conflict with life course perspective assuming significant and waning effects of (some) parental capitals. Jakub Bjaček Meaning of virtual reality for a social group of NEETs Abstract In this bachelor thesis I tried to look in more detail on the current issue of NEETs (acronym for "Not in Education, Employment, or Training"), in short, people who usually do not voluntarily participate in socialization through employment or institutional education. I was mainly interested in the reasons why this is so. Whether it is more about external causes (changes in the labour market, youth unemployment, competitive environment) or even causes of an internal nature. The question was where the NEETs are presenting themselves and how they spend time. That is why I focused on an online space in which a certain part of them could be active more visibly. This leaves me a relatively narrow target group of people who can be ranked in the NEETs category and also are active in the online space. These links have built research objectives. Volunteer Fire Fighters from the Point of View of Social Capital Development

The diploma thesis deals with the status of volunteer fire fighters from the point of view of social capital development. Because of that subject it belongs to studies exploring phenomenon volunteering. Association of volunteer fire fighters is traditional volunteer organization and its success and expansion in the individualistic present society are the basic questions of the study. The answers on the questions connected with unique status of volunteer fire fighters between Czech volunteers were searching by using analysis of collective social capital. Importance of traditions, social networks and status of volunteer fire fighters in their communities were revealed by quantitative and qualitative approaches. It seems that the main sense of existence of volunteer fire departments is not only the protection of people against fires and accidents but also helping communities to maintain their collective social life. By this action are volunteer fire fighters instrumental in keeping cohesion of local citizens and in social capital development.

Contemporary Perspectives of International Organisations on the Concept of Lifelong Learning - A Comparison of UNESCO and OECD

This diploma thesis presents the concept of lifelong learning as an ambitious political project born in the field of international organisations at the beginning of the 1970s which now reaches far beyond the borders of national states and education policy. The sphere of education still remains the responsibility of national governments, however, even here strong globalising tendencies have occurred since the 1990s, as a result of which the national policy is more and more being influenced by supranational institutions. Although the concept of lifelong learning now serves as a common framework, it has been interpreted differently during its evolution and a consensus on what it exactly means and how it should be put into practice still does not exist. Based on analysis of key documents, this thesis aims to compare the view of lifelong learning held by the international organisation UNESCO with that of OECD, as two distinctive perspectives on this issue. The comparison draws on Rubenson's model (2004), which examines lifelong learning through three key categories representing the main actors of social life - the state, the market and civil society. Ways of Obtaining Taboo Information about Drugs by Addicts in Czechoslovakia

This thesis deals with the transmission of information about hard drugs which were concealed by social system in the 70th and 80th of 20th century from perspectives of drug users. We focus on the problematics of informational sources and channels by means of the social system and the systems theory of Niklas Luhmann. We analyse, by using grounded theory, information environment which influenced the drug subculture. The data sources consist of 35 interviews with addicts who were actively taking hard drugs before 1989. The aim of this thesis is a comprehensive look at the functioning of the drug subculture, transmission of taboo information in society 70th and 80th of 20th century by the theory of social capital and social systems.
