Reflection of sibling relationship in art production
NOVÁKOVÁ, Gabriela
The bachelor thesis explores the possibilities of using art therapy elements in the relationships between siblings. The work is divided between a theoretical and a practical section. The theoretical part defines nuances in siblings' relationships, siblings' constellations, and fairytales. The work focuses on the fairytale Gingerbread house, which provides a base point for the fieldwork with respondents. The tale's history and interpretation potential are explored. The practical section provides an overview of the art therapy fieldwork with 5 respondents. It describes the used data collection methods and elaborates on instructions given to respondents for their individual artwork. In the section dedicated to case studies, 4 respondent cases are explored. It aggregates information collected during the interviews with respondents and compares them to the content, that is possible to find in their paintings.
Application of fairy tale topics in artetherapeutical approach to solving siblings´ relationships
HÁJEK HOLÁ, Zuzana
The work focuses on the theme of sibling relationships appearing in the fairy tales Cinderella and Gingerbread house. The aim of the thesis is to analyse the differences in the processing of individual authors with respect to their relationship with their sibling, if they have a brother or sister, if they are a younger or older sibling. In the thesis there are outlined the main sibling constellations and their basic characteristics, the importance of fairy tale themes in the life of an individual and selected passages of fairy tales that touch the topic of sibling relationships. Symbols and their meanings, together with information obtained from the interviews with the authors of pictures, are used to interpret both themes painted by the addressed participants. Influences that may be decisive for selecting a particular display of the fairy tale are identified, mentioned identical and different elements, and compared within the group. Given the small sample of participants, the results of this work cannot be generalized, but the conclusions of the thesis may serve as a topic for further studies.

Soukupová, Marie ; Kucharská, Anna (advisor) ; Valentová, Hana (referee)
This research study is focused on perceptions of sibling relationships from the perspective of healthy siblings of children with mental disabilities. The first part of this study perceives the sibling relationships as a part of the family system and notices the particularities of the relationships when one of the children is mentally handicapped. The study also deals with the development of the sibling relationship and notices some problematic moments, difficult situations and feelings that the polled siblings mentioned. In the empirical part, we presented a qualitative analysis of the data obtained from 7 informants using the method of a semi-structured interview. The aim of this study was to uncover the factors of the sibling relationships that are supportive or disturbing from the point of view of the healthy siblings. Following influences have been identified: significant influence of parents, influence of friends, influence of family, time spent together and enough communication with siblings with disabilities, but also the "supportive world" (i.e. the Internet or some supportive psychological programs). For some siblings the belief in God can be of importance; and also the living space, leisure time and space for themselves. These factors may be helpful to the parents of these children, the siblings...
Close relationships in foster families
SMÍŠKOVÁ, Eliška
The bachelor thesis deals with the mapping of close relationships in a foster family. It tries primarily to approach the experience within the foster family from the point of view of the foster mother. The aim of the practical part is to find out how foster mothers perceive and experience relationships in the family. It brings us the motivation of the foster parents, the arrival of the child in the new family and its adaptation in it, and maps the sibling relations, the partnership relationship and the related raising of the children. For my research I have chosen the qualitative method, where data was collected by the semi-structured interviews from foster carers who either perform short-term care or long-term care, including family care, is selected. After that the case study of individual foster families are created and the data obtained is processed using the card unloading method. The results of the research show us two types of experience of the foster child in the family, which are related with the motivation, the partnership, the sibling relationship and child raising. The first type of family accepts parental identity against the child, and the other does not accept it. The results confirm more stable partnership after the arrival of the foster child, as well as the motivation to help the child with the other needs of the individual families and the care from the siblings.
